Outfrontgirl 6830 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 07-23-01, 07:07 PM (EST) "Apology for delayed airtime" Hi everyone, apologies that Episode 9's not up, but I'm experiencing major delays: one of two runways closed due to brainfog and other flights of fancy delayed due to storms on Chat and OT. Oh, wrong announcement? I know I'm supposed to be whipping something out that sets up the end-of-game strategies plus full of humorous entertainment to cheer everyone up, but not so long as to exhaust anyone's attention span (right, that's easy). I guess I need cheering up myself in order to get back into the spirit. The last week there's been so much emotional energy flying around that I feel drained, not full of juice like when I volunteered and sketched out the episode. I keep waiting for a day when I wake up feeling good and clear and it hasn't happened, plus busy IRL. Last night I got startled awake in the middle of my sleep (4:30 am) by a neighbor blasting her "wake-up" news radio into my bedroom and was so mad I couldn't get back to sleep. I had planned to write all day, and I tried warming up with the toilet paper thresd but I just couldn't get on a roll (OK, my bad, use a bad pun 2x one day). Anyway, I'm a bit discouraged by hearing more feedback that some people are still anti-BlowsVivor and don't want to post on it. I don't know to what extent, but it's not a huge incentive to take the needed time away from my friends,family and responsibilities IRL. I do see that only 14 people bothered to vote (real votes), despite that there at least 23 people who are either cast members or writers, let alone the "readers," and that's not sending a message that anyone much cares. Well, that's all I wanted to say and I realize plenty of people volunteered and I feel privileged to have the job and I am working on it as hard as I can given the state my brain's in today. Too bad I scheduled tomorrow with appointments, thinking I'd be done. So please have patience, and, if any of you out there remember your Peter Pan: Clap your hands if you believe in BlowsVivor, and my little light might revive and start zooming around again ...   Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I guarantee you that BlowsVivor is going to come to a conclusion, and I appreciate your efforts to help it get there in an orderly fashion. As far as people who don't like BV ... well, there are people who don't like Christmas too. Hey, by the way ... I was watching the Tour de France over the weekend (I used to be a bicycle racer when I was a teenager, but I was never very good at it). In Saturday's stage, Lance Armstrong (the two-time defending champ from Texas) broke away at the start of the last climb. As he was passing 1.5 km to go, he went through a crowd of spectators from the U.S. During this passage, running along beside him for a little bit was ... someone dressed as a clown ... from the U.S.! I know not sleeeve had a spoiler about a clown who died in France and was involved in the clown porn industry in Italy. Well, I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the next episode because I have always liked parodies and shows/stories where people poke fun at themselves. I am sure that enough people are certainly interested in Blowsvivor but I suspect that the happenings over the last few days in the Blow Hole bar has captured an awful lot of attention away from this board. People are frustrated in general and they may be taking out part of the "anger" onto BV because much of the discussion points have revolved around BV and people taking sides (pro- or anti- Shakes discussions, talk about inclusionary status, being left out, etc.) as they look back at where some of the hubbub originated from. Perhaps this episode is what people need to refocus their attention and provide a welcome diversion from the chaos in the chatrooms. Knowing that you did a great job with the 3rd episode, I had even more reason to look forward to your episode, OFG... and I hope you will feel reassured that enough people DO have an interest in Blowsvivor even if they're not quite lining up to vote. And shame on me too, because although I always read and always laugh at these episodes, I don't always vote or voice my appreciation. I think you have all done an awesome job. The episodes have been so much fun and really inventive and wonderful. I know how hard it can be to sit down and write - I know how lonely and discouraging the process can be. I'm sorry I haven't told you all what an amazing job you are doing. I am still amazed at the level of talent and creativity we have around here. I'm so glad to be a part of it and so glad to know all of you. Once again, I've ventured over to weepy overshare. "RE: Apology for delayed airtime" I, for one, was definitely looking forward to this episode, as I ep3 was one of my favorites. Admittedly, my interest in BV has waned a little bit; maybe Aya was right about trying for 3-day turnarounds to maintain interest. I think also, though, that we're seeing some of the (what I'd assume to be) usual off-season drop-off. Combine that with the usual summer stuff (people going on vacations, working at summer camps, etc.) and it's difficult to maintain the same high level of interest. The writing itself hasn't gotten any worse (I've been very impressed with the writing throughout) and the characters certainly aren't any less interesting; there have just been too many outside factors at work. Anyway, that's a wrap on that ramble. And maybe, just maybe, now that I've got this hellacious project at work done (yay!), I'll be able to find some time to surf for appropriate pix and start posting vid caps again (don't hold me to that, though; if I promise, it's almost a guarantee that another hideous work project will instantly get dropped in my lap). I feel newly charged up and sorry I had to go take care of Other Things IRL today. Also my lame neighbor stopped with the 4:30 am broadcast so I can think a little again. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow and plow through it! About the vote thing, I have two thoughts. 1) a vote with a bootee's name (with or without lunch) is a way of saying you have an interest and gives the writer a push to write. So what if it's hard to get it right? A vote that only votes for lunch basically tells the writer you don't care about their effort at the same time the writer is clearing their real life schedule to make time to get it done. (Dabo, people like you who are not allowed to vote because you know the bootee, of course I understand you must vote for something and not get left out...) Do not take this to mean I have a list of people who only voted for lunch. Not so! Don't take it to mean I can't appreciate a good hijack. I can. But voting for a bootee is not meaningless, or AyaK wouldn't bother to insist on a vote thread. 2) for those of you who actually put your logic on the vote thread: not only are you making it more fun and like Survivor, but you are giving the future writers ideas and feedback on how you perceive the strategies to date. And I tell you, we need all the help we can get figuring out what these whores are thinking! So you are helping to shape the end of the show by writing how you think things are shaking out.
