jbug 17018 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Playboy Centerfold" 03-12-09, 08:09 AM (EST) "Make Me A Supermodel" I'm not sure if I've seen each ep of this. I watched the first where they had to pair up and get in a glass box to be hoisted up above everyone and look sexy. Then last night they got spray painted (from the pantyline up) had candy - sprinkles, chocolate, etc. - glued to them. Some looked yummy - others? not so much The women had little pasties too . Last night was also make-over night. One girl was very unhappy about them cutting her blonde hair and dyeing it dark brown. But I thought she looked awesome! So, am I the only one watching this? You have seen both episodes, however, about a month earlier, they had an episode trimming down the number of contestants. I loved last season. Do you think Samone is the new Holly? I love the artistic stuff they make the models do, however, much of it is not my style. There is a gal who had a baby less than a year ago. I am wondering if it was the person who went on this week's "go see". She had a very wide almost broad pelvis for such a flat abdomen, that she did look strange in those jeans. "RE: Make Me A Supermodel" I admit I watched the first episode - even considered writing a summary for it and posting it here. Second episode is DVR'd so I catch up over the weekend. Seems like the cut the budget this year, huh? Photo shoots on the docks with a crane and an acrylic box instead of Times Square like last season. Prize is a go see, which costs what? the cabfare to get there - its not even a guaranteed job. The female "mentor" I've never heard of. The first ep photographer looked like a derelict. They booted the one guy who actually looked healthly - guess they were afraid he might want to eat something and they had no budget for food. None of the other models looked they they've had a meal in weeks. Chris is a model? - androgyny, fine but he is just sickly, frail and sorta creepy looking. Colin is the bomb! Last season Holly was my favorite from the get go, followed by Ronnie, Perry and Ben, so it worked out good (IMO). This season I think Colin has the most potential, Jordan is the best at this point. I don't especially like her or Brandon, but they are both hot and model-y. Sandhurst is good, but not THAT good. Really neat! I didn't look much at the clothing tho I think there is a line between not being modest and being an exhibitionist. Some of them went out with just a bit of nervousness; and yet make some awesome photos. Jordan went out ready to show the world she has no modesty at all - but to me her attitude screams exhibitionist. I am so tired of her attitude - about everything. Do the winners of the go-sees ever pick someone of the opposite sex to go with them (I've missed a couple of eps). I was hoping Solome would take one of the guys with her. Wondering why the furniture people didn't give Solome a clue as to what they wanted - rather than let her pose too dramatically for them. I like Montauha and Solome (I have no clue to the speelings of these names). And Jonathan. The judges are right; he spells m.o.n.e.y. (hopefully he can find enough to keep his family going till he gets home from this comp). I even like Sandhurst. He has an amazing body. Last ep was the Jordan wake up call. I would actually be willing to bet that it will be Jordan vs. Jonathan in the final two. 6th-Brendan 5th-Mountaha, maybe Salome 4th-Salome, maybe Mountaha 3rd-Sandhurst 2nd-Jordan 1st-Jonathan. Now he can pay for his family. So sad that I was robbed of more time watching Colin and Karen when Amanda should have gone before either of them. Best Moment: When Amanda said she walks around naked in front of her kid so he'll grow up straight. I have no idea why Amanda was around this long. Also, I am really tired of model reality show contestants telling me they are doing it for their child. The child wants you at home. He doesn't give a crap for how well you walk or how much fierceness you wish to express. The job entails (if you are successful) a lot of time away from home. I'm not saying no one should try to be a model if they have kids, I'm just saying you are so NOT doing it FOR the kids. I wanted to do the sing song for Jordan that she did when Amanda left. Jordan had such an attitude! It would have been terrible for Jonathan to get kicked off just because of the one photo shoot. He rocked the wheelie shoes - better than anyone else. I wish they'd quit harping on Solome's butt. Curves look good on women. She is so pretty. Jordan was extremely skinny - skin and bones - and had admitted that she does no exercise and eats lots of junk. I am surprised because she seems, to me, one of the best two models and I didn't think personality was so important on this show. Once the bottom three was Jonathan, Salome and Jordan, I knew Jordan was toast. Salome has won a lot of competitions, so I think the judges are just looking for an excuse to dump her. Which is too bad, since she's my post-Colin favorite. Since Jonathan didn't get his photos chosen and picked that weird hair, he needed a wake up call. At this point, I am almost certain he will win. I don't get the Mountaha love. She is nothing special, imo. Branden's vulnerability earned him one more week. However, based on the previews of next week's episode I think Mountaha may be in trouble - they are doing some kind of shoot with gigantic whole fish - and she is such a prissy "city girl" -- I think she may be really uncomforable (and it will show)!. My fav's are Jonathan, Sandhurst and Salome - who should rock this challenge - but the judges seen to have their own agenda despite the model's performances. I think Jonathan needs to rethink the hair too ... the new look is not good. I was 108 lbs. at 5'4" from 7th grade until I became pregnant at 29! I could out-eat most men....age can be cruel. I am now 140 lbs. I don't look like Winona Ryder anymore. I had forgotten that until I was about 16, I was as skinny as a rail. And I was tall even then - 5'8" at 16. I could eat anything and not gain weight - had a fierce metabolic rate! Dang it! I shoulda been a model! But then the hips started spreading just a bit. Still stayed rather thin till mid-20's. Then became more normal sized. Then after 40? well, let's just say I have an extra 20 lbs that I wish I didn't have. As there are less and less models, they have to look at all factors. Her catwalks have not always been great. I do not think Branden is good at all and I wonder how the eff he is still there. His photos suck and many of his catwalks have sucked. Salome should be there over him. I was more worried that Sandhurst was going to go b/c I LOVE him! Of course, I do think Jonathan is better, but there is something about Sandhurst. He's yummy. What a great body and that accent. *sigh* Mountaha is the best of all the women that were on this show??? Montaha played it much too easy with the one pose in the fire shoot. She was too overconfident - and, well, I didn't like her much anyway. And her crying at the end? I'm sure that made Brandon feel great! Like she was so shocked that she was eliminated instead of him - she just knew she had it won. She acted like she was the only one that really wanted to win (why do they all act that way? each one thinks he/she is the only only who deserves to win). I liked Jonathan's fire pose. His eyes were very intense. I agree with the judges; his walk was perfect. Brandon - still young but growing. I really wish the photographer had picked any one of his 'screaming' poses. At least that would have been what 'he' was trying to give to the shoot. I think it was unfair for the photographer to choose one taken before he really even started his 'look'. Sandhurst? If Salome had worked harder on her runway, I think she would have been in the finals. I really don't know why they cut Jordin, other than they were down to the top six and had to get rid of somebody. Among the guys, I'm rooting for Sandhurst, but would be okay with Jonathan winning, since he's been strong from the get-go and the photographers and people on the go-sees almost always love him. I am surprised that Brandon is still there -- his photo shoots generally suck. I think he's only there because they like the way he looks. His walk is horrendous. I don't see this improvement that the judges talk about. He's still all hunched over and awkward looking. They must really, REALLY want a guy to win this season. But I think that they would have gotten that result even if Mountaha was still in it because she is not better than Jonathan or Sandhurst. "RE: June 2 - The Winner" Well, I should have known from the get go after Mountaha got eliminated, but the editing last night made it pretty clear Branden would win. Of the final three, I am glad he won. Jonathan was steady but never got better. He will definitely work, anyway. I feel Sandhurst was wildly overrated, I thought his firey photo was the ONLY good one of the entire series for him. That said, he was the only finalist who didn't look stupid in the "playful" outfit. Branden and Jonathan looked uncomfortable and silly. Branden's walk still wasn't very good, but he looked incredibly awesome in his suit. It made me want to buy the suit, which is the whole point. Aaandd....finally, I have to say that last season was SO MUCH BETTER! I honestly believe that Holly, Ronnie, Ben and Perry were ALL better than any of this season's top 4. I still think Colin, Jordan and Salome were the best this season. NO WAY --- He should have been eliminated in the "accessory" challenge when Tyson had to step in to show him how to turn his body to achieve a little muscle definition and prevent the "junk" from showing. The photographer even commented on how a reshoot would have been required if it had been a real job. Instead, Jordin went home. He should have been eliminated in the "beach shoot" - he's definitely missing muscle tone, and his one look -- the snarl -- makes him look angry and constipated. Salome's "big butt" got her eliminated, yet she won the photo challenge that week with a rear view. He should have been eliminated in the "fire" episode for failing to follow the instructions of the photographer who specifically instructed him not to yell. His photo came from before the shoot officialy started? How sad. Instead, we lost Mountaha. As for the finale, I absolutely hated Brandon's side-view shot --- they talk about his "S" curve, all I saw was a slouch-shouldered guy who needs more time in the gym. Brandon has never had the walk. How many times was Jonathan told his walk was "money"? As for all the talk about how much more he improved than Sandhurst or Jonathan, why should those guys be penalized for being better to begin with and remaining consistent? How can Brandon possibly be the winner? How? I hope he goes out, buys his $10 Sears shoes to go with his Hugo Boss suit, and falls flat on his leering face. "RE: June 2 - The Winner" I actually thought all 3 guys looked really good in the final, but I wonder if Brandon's age was a deciding factor. Many of the top models start in their early teens. Jonathon has a very sophisticated look, but he definitely comes across as an "older" guy. Sandhurst was always being criticized for his legs being too developed and he sometimes had problems fitting into sample sizes. Perhaps the judges were being practical about who could actually book jobs based on the reality of the business, unlike Tyra. "Colin and Branden in this month's Details" To my surprise, I opened my new issue of Details magazine last night, and there were multi-page ads featuring both Colin and Branden. Branden had two full pages and a two page spread for Diesel. He looked really good in one photo, but looked stiff in 3 of the 5 pix. Colin looked really good in all of his pictures. I can't remember who it was for, though.
