"Celebrity Mole Yucatan Ep2 Press Release"
AT THE MOLE'S HILARIOUS MEXICAN FIESTA, IT'S A PIŅATA GAME WITH A TWIST, ON ABC'S "CELEBRITY MOLE YUCATAN," WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14

Episode 402 -- The Mole throws a hilarious Mexican fiesta, as the players are challenged to knock some chosen celebs out of their giant, human-sized piņatas; and, as the night continues, so does the arguing, when the group is asked to decide who among them should get an exemption, in "Celebrity Mole Yucatan," WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

The cast includes legendary basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman, former v.j. and talk-show host Ananda Lewis, comedian Mark Curry ("Hangin' with Mr. Cooper"), supermodel Angie Everhart, sitcom stars Tracey Gold ("Growing Pains") and Keshia Knight Pulliam ("The Cosby Show"), battling against returning players Stephen Baldwin ("Usual Suspects," "One Good Cop") and Corbin Bernsen ("L.A. Law," "Major League"), who hope to avenge their early executions on the Hawaiian version of the series last season. Emmy Award-winning sportscaster Ahmad Rashad is host of the series.

"Celebrity Mole Yucatan" will be a special seven-episode version of the show, as each of the eight celebrities tries to figure out who among them is The Mole. The celebrities will use all their guile to uncover clues that could lead them to a pot of up to $250,000. They must complete a series of challenging physical and mental games to earn money for the pot, which one player will eventually win. Working undercover against the team, however, is The Mole, a double agent planted by the producers to sabotage the players' efforts. It is the goal of the players to decide who they think The Mole is, then learn as much about him or her as possible. In the final dramatic episode, The Mole is revealed and the one remaining player wins the jackpot.

"Celebrity Mole Yucatan" is produced by Stone Stanley Entertainment. David G. Stanley, Scott A. Stone and Clay Newbill are the executive producers.

A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.

Good, the first confirmed fiasco is on the schedule.

If the production crew decided to make this a unanimous vote again, we can look forward to someone grandstanding. (Probably not Corbin. This is the 'Let's see how well Corbin's memory works' scene, and he may wind up pushing for _anyone_ to get the exemption just so he can be seen as a team player.) Common sense might take the form of a random assignment: short straw gets the exemption, and the Mole's chance to spread dissent gets shorted out by 'Variable lengths of organic fiber, do as you will.' But -- they're likely going to argue. A lot. It'll be easier if they go with a majority vote and disallow voting for oneself: someone will get the exemption then -- but the politicing is going to be fierce.

And it's also one of those notorious double-edged judgement moments. The person pushing hardest for the votes could be the Mole, trying to keep the exemption away from the others. The person who seems least interested could be the Mole, secure in the knowledge that s/he's going to be around until the end anyway...

(Hmmm. If I was the Mole, I might make an early push to get the votes, then throw in the towel and put my support behind someone else -- one of the weakest players, least likely to contribute to the pot -- openly convinced that I couldn't get a majority.)

Let's hope it's majority vote this time, just so they manage to get something accomplished. Otherwise, the Mole's job is too easy.
