PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"Why the Hills?" |
Can anyone answer to me why they personally enjoy The Hills? (this is not meant to be taken in a negative way, I personally enjoy the show, but I need other peoples opinions for a paper I am writing, good and bad)

1. "RE: Why the Hills?" |
The main reason I started watching it was so I could see, the behind the scenes in the fashion world. For the most part I wanted to see how things work at Teen Vogue. I buy the magazine every month and really like it. But it was very easy to get caught up in all the drama of the characters in their day to day lives. I espically enjoy watching Witney climb the ladder to a very successful career. She sets a good example for those who want to work hard to get somewhere in life. The show exposes those who will freeload off of others, so women will know what kind of guy to stay away from. I don't need to mention any names...

From a woman's perspective:I think that young people can relate to the problems The Hills cast face. OK, so we don't all work for Teen Vogue and live in Hollywood, but most of us have: 1. Had a crap boyfriend 2. Had a friend with a crap boyfriend and found it hard to maintain the friendship 3. Struggled to prove ourselves and work our way up the career ladder, particularly when just starting out. 4. Moved out from our parents homes and having to learn to fend for ourselves. I suppose there is the glamourous side of it as well - Living in LA, working for Teen Vogue/Bolthouse, going to flash parties and clubs. A life that most of us don't lead and so find it intriguing I guess.
