"Weird Rules in this Game"
LAST EDITED ON 10-18-01 AT 10:49 AM (EST)

OK, so the Guidos and Frank/Margaritta cheat by not taking the train all the way to that final point. The host guy says they therefore suffered a time penalty, but still remained ahead of the teams that came in after them. What is up with that? A time penalty that is less than the time the gained by cheating? Is that supposed to be a deterrent from cheating in the future? Oh gee, if we save five hours by going an alternate route, we might be penalized two hours when we finish. Tough decision to make.

Yes, I know, they didn't call it cheating. They misread the clue. Let's see, it said take the train to the final destination. They took the train halfway, then took a cab. Maybe they didn't realize that when it says take a train, you're supposed to take a train. It would be nice if they spelled out the rules of this game a little mroe clearly.

1. "Villains"
Every game show needs a villain. Richard Hatch was the villain of Survivor 1. Jerri Manthey was the villain of Survivor 2. Team Guido are the "UBER-villains" of The Amazing Race.

The editing has made it obvious that everyone hates the Guidos, and for good reasons. I can't believe that the show would paint them SO harshly if they won; Richard was painted as conniving and cunning, but also as a hard worker and most definitely not evil. The Guidos are evil, as they proved at the airport and especially at the security checkpoint. So at least there is one consolation: the Guidos don't look like winners.

2. "RE: Villains"
The Guidos won't win. CBS would try to find something redeeming about them if they were going to be the big winners. But no, they are showing them in all their evilness. They aren't even fun to watch when they are devious. They have just become hateful. They will last for awhile. But they won't win.

3. "RE: Weird Rules in this Game"
Actually, Frank and Margarita and the Guidos did not receive a time penalty before reaching the pit stop. The penalty comes in when they leave this pit stop--so on the next episode. So, isntead of leaving in twelve hours as they normally would, they would leave, for example, in fourteen hours from the time they arrived. This would set them back two hours. Now, I don't remember if a specific time was given for the penalty, but it would make sense if they were held back five hours.

Likewise, Lenny and Karyn are going to be given a time credit, so when they leave, it will mroe than likely be less than twelve hours from their time of arrival.

to be fair, this could have happened, ( mind you I dislike team guido, but like F & M )

remember the trip from france, they where allowed to do this
as for the time penalty, the grandparents, also misread a clue and recievd a time penalty, They did not end up at the end of the line.

Those guys are so mean spirited and what liars--i can't hardly watch them anymore---they are such snakes and i keep expecting them to trip themselves up and the creeps keep coming in first or second---team guido is just too much--at first they were funny but they have gone way over the top. I like those guys from new york---they keep coming in in the top 4 or 5 and they help people along the way. team quido reminds me of Jerry on last seasons survivor----they will be on television when this is all over going on about how it was editied wrong and they are not that bad of a team---god they make richard hatch look like the good prince. it really gets me when i see people doing such neaky things and getting away with it. My perfect picture of team quido is their car breaks down on some road in the race and every team member goes speeding by them and waves bye bye---and that will just be the best.smoore
