Lady T Well here I am getting out of my black Jeep. I can't believe where I am. I am in the backwoods of West Virginia meeting the one and only bacon. Not only am I in the backwoods, I am in a shack. Why oh why can't I be in the South of France or a pool? bacon Welcome to my castle.
Lady T Some castle. Does it even have running water and electricity?
bacon It sure does. Like I said, it's my castle.
Lady T You truly are an enigma. So, how long have you been at the boards? What brought you here?
bacon I've been at these boards for close to four years now. I originally came because I heard about all the spoilers that were being dished out about the various reality shows. Initially I was just wanting to see how accurate the guesses were. But truthfully it wasn't the spoilers that kept me coming back for more. What brought me back were the terrific posts that were being written on any given pages. And by terrific posts I mean the ones I was writing. I just couldn't get over how talented one human being could be.
Lady T Wow, are you trying out for the role of Shakes JR?
bacon What makes you think that Shakes isn't trying out for the role of bacon JR?
Lady T Touche. What are your favorite reality shows?
bacon Well, Survivor is always good. The Amazing Race is also way up on my list. I also watch The Apprentice and American Idol(but mostly just to torture myself). I also watch Desperate Housewives and Lost, which are apparently reality shows because they each received their own forum. But then again, these are probably the answers you always get from your interviewees. So I'll just throw caution to the wind and say the greatest reality show going is Starting Over.
Lady T What are your favorite non reality shows.
bacon The Simpsons will always be #1 for me. "Lost" is probably the best drama/reality show going. "Reno 911!" gets high marks from me. I recently started watching "Curb Your Enthusiasm", which is great stuff. But let me tell ya, nothing beats a good cry. That's why, when I'm not watching one of the shows above, I always have it tuned to the Lifetime Network. I have it in HD. There's nothing like watching Susan Lucci movies in High Def.,
Lady T Hey now, don't be insulting the Soap Diva of all Divas! She is ERICA KANE! Check out French Silk, the 1994 Lifetime movie starring Lee Horsley, it's very good.
bacon Me catching that movie will happen when Hillary Rodham Clinton and Monica Lewinsky sit down for high tea with the Queen of England and discuss Fergie.
Lady T In your opinion, what reality tv show has "jumped the shark?"
bacon That's easy. "The Real World" hasn't been good since that Puck guy left. But MTV makes up for it in other ways. Mainly by putting Puck, and all the other ex-Real World people, into various other shows that are seemingly the same but the titles are just slightly different. I think they have "Inferno" and "Battle of the Sexes" and "Battle of the ex-Road Rules people" and "Battle of the ex-Real World People" and "Battle of the ex-real world and ex-road rules people". Man, those shows keep me on the edge of my seat.
Lady T I like the challenges better myself. You seem to be very knowledgeable about the media. Here's the scenario, you are on a desert island and can only have access to to one thing, movies, TV or music. What do you choose and why?
bacon This seems like a hard question but it really isn't if you just think about it. I'd take the tv. Think about it! TV has MTV. MTV stands for Music Television. Although I haven't actually seen a video on that channel for at least 10 years. TV also has HBO, SHOWTIME, and Cinemax. You can watch movies on your tv! That means everytime I turn it on to say...Showtime...I can see the movie "Paycheck" for the 800th time. Trust me, there's nothing more exciting than watching Ben Affleck slowly reaching back into his memory and figuring out what a douchebag he is.
Lady T Tell us a little about yourself.
bacon Well, I was born in the Summer of 79...I think that was a Bryan Adams song wasn't it? No..wait. Summer of 69, right? Oh well, who wants that tool writing a song about the year they were born, huh? Another uninteresting fact is that I was born on the 23rd of August, which is the first day of the Virgo. I'm 6'4", dark blue eyes that will pierce your soul, blonde hair that flows forever, and a smile that says "You ladies know you want some".
Lady T Well if I was single, you never know. So what are your hobbies?
bacon Well, I'm obviously a football fan and a music buff. These two things seem to rarely go hand in hand. I mean it's not as if football fans don't listen to music. But when you go to a sporting event they usually play "We Will Rock You" or "We Are the Champions". I'd be just as happy if they'd play "It's Oh So Quiet" by Bjork. I can picture thousands of football fans saying "SHHHH" in unison.
Lady T When you were a kid, what did you want to
be when you grew up?
bacon Most boys dream of being a cop or a firefighter or maybe even a professional baseball player. I had bigger ambitions. I wanted to create some sort of device. A device that would do something. A device that would be of some sort of use for something. A device that would help somebody do something that he or she wouldn't be able to do if they didn't own this device. A device that would do what didn't even need to be done until it was created which then made the thing not really needing done doable. Trust me, the blueprints are all in my head.
Lady T My boyfriend wanted to be a ditchdigger, of course he was five. But if you could date any contestant from a reality TV show, who would it be?
bacon Oooo..now this is a very interesting question. There have been several foxy ladies on reality shows over the years. The first name that popped into my head was Elizabeth from the second season of Survivor. But my opinion of her dropped dramatically when I found out she went to Boston College. What a pukehole! It also doesn't help that she's friends with Star Jones. What a pukehole! But to answer your question I think I'd go with Paige from the second season of The Amazing Race. She was very cute, didn't seem annoying, and she dated her brother. Me being from West Virginia and all should help me gain an advantage in that area.
Lady T Well bacon, I so need to go to a spa or something. Care to join me?
bacon No I'm good.
Lady T bacon, it's been a pleasure to get to know you a little better. This has been fun. Take care
