Eco-Challenge, one of the world's premiere expedition races where contestants compete against the elements in a remote region of the world each year was created by Mark Burnett. The entire Eco-Challenge will also be broadcast straight through on April 28 from 9 AM to 3 PM. For this year's challenge, 67 teams from 23 countries will race across the South Island of New Zealand. The teams will be racing 24 hours a day for 12 straight days and will be required to cross 220 miles by mountaineering, using fixed ropes, rafting, mountain biking and horseback riding - in short, they are allowed to only use non-motorized forms of transportation to reach their goal.
