"Could the colosseum be a roadblock?"
LAST EDITED ON 09-29-01 AT 04:24 PM (EST)

Sorry I don't have any vidcap equipment...

The people who I saw running through the colosseum were...

Lenny
Amie
Frank
I think one of Rob or Brennen (jumping the gate with Amie in the background)
Emily (stamping out fire)
One of the festers
Rob or Brennen (standing still)
David (running)
Margaretta (standing still)
One unknown person (running up steps at end)

Notice how there is never more than one team member from any one team moving in the preview. This seems to me like perhaps this could be a road-block challenge. Also, notice the quotes in the preview...

Karen: Lenny?
Lenny: I'm right here!

Margaretta: David?

Amie?: Paul, where do I go?

This has me believing the colosseum is a roadblock where perhaps racers have to find their team members.

P.S: one of the quotes struck me as weird...

Fester: Emily, where are you?

Perhaps suggesting a secret alliance between the Festers and the mother/daughter?

P.P.S. Feedback is always appreciated

Edited to add, sorry if everything isn't right here but this was a rush post (stupid RL always gets in the way )

1. "RE: Could the colosseum be a roadblock?"
I was thinking this, too, when I watched the preview...

I think that you're right that the colisseum is a road block, but I'm not sure if they would have to try to find their teammates... I think it's more like what we saw at the Eiffel Tower, where the teams were shouting up the tower to their teammates, offering encouragement (and asking how they were doing)...

As for one of the Festers and Emily... well... I find it odd that the first place team would align itself with the team currently in last place... seems like a huge disadvantage... even more to the point... how much time must the Festers lose if they end up in the same place as Emily and her mother???

You never know what might be up my sleeeve...

Well not quite.

Remember in episode 3, how everyone was neck and neck in the sewers ?
Yeah, possibility that the producers pulled the same crap here.

Which REALLY sucks balls...(Pardon the expression) because Drew and Kev earned that Fast Forward Pass.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Anyway, the Coliseum is a maze where walky-talkies are used to navigate their way through. It is a Road Block.

How do I know? Entertainment Weekly from the week of September 7th did a rather large Amazing Race article.

Other events in Episode 4 include a visit to the Sahara Desert, and apparently one team, and the crew with it, gets very, very lost.

The article goes on to say, and I quote, that the day ends in "tearshed and a little bit of controversy."

Thanks Chaos...

I checked EW.com for the article, no luck. Anyone else? I did find the Rob/Brennan/Camel photo though:

My guess would be Ep4 ends in the desert and Ep 5's roadblock is the "rounded" ruins we saw in the opening vidcaps I grabbed.

Hmm...the day ends in "tearshed and controversy?"

We know from the opening sequence that Kevin and Drew and Frank and Margarite are safe. Joe and Bill aren't in the previews which means they are way behind, or go after the fast forward pass. (The latter makes sense since they were shocked at being so behind, they'd want some catch up time.)

I can't imagine Rob and Brennan or even David and Margaretta erupting in tearshed, so my guess it's lights out for one of the underdog teams...(While I like all 3 of them, it really is a bad strategy to align with the other teams at the end of the pack)

6. "RE: Could the colosseum be a roadblock?"
Thanks for the info, Chaos. As we saw tonight, it doesn't apply to Episode 4. Based on the teaser for next week, I assume that the info should have been instead for Episode 5.

Something to look forward to.

Read. Seems the magazine made a small typo. The article was supposed to revolve around E5.
