You should not lock any thread because it is a form of censorship. Someone may post something that is similiar but not exactly the same post and then you lock it; it makes little sense. the post is still there and now it is non-productive because no one can reply to it! Whats the point? i know you have guidelines but if it is not the exact same thing such as someone posting about lesbians when they are no posts about that yet or someone posting about what happened to the starting over message board. (not the web site itself.) there is a difference between the web site and message board. If a topic is already there I just post underneath it.

I'm from the original board....although I didn't go on much last season. I don't even remember why. I think I found the group so boring compared to the first season, that I really had little to say. Boy in season one, we had some good battles going on ..between Nyanza and Christine; Andy and Lori; Mo and Cassie; Who could forget Kimberyln? So many of them had such dynamic personalities and needed lots of help. And then we had battles over the coaches. Iyanla wasn't there and neither was Dr. Stan. Who was the other coach..the very sweet timid woman???

I feel exactly the same as you. I tivo all the reality shows. I then can control what I watch and when I watch. Reality tv is so much more exciting...even if some of them have some guidance taking place, they still are real people in real situations without actual scripts. I can't watch any scriped shows anymore. If I want to watch CSI, I go to Court Tv or Discovery channel and see the same thing only with real live detectives and real live stories. If I want to see ER, I go to Discovery and watch all the live hospital shows. If I want music, I go to American Idol, Rockstar INXS, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, Missy Elliot's search, etc. If I want to see competion, I go to Surivor, The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, Martha Stewart's Apprentice; American's Top Model; The Biggest Loser; The Ultimate Fighter; The Contender etc., etc., etc. But some think we have too much of it. I think there's an even balance. There's plenty of scriped dramas and sitcoms for those who want that and plenty of reality for those of us who prefer the real thing.
Starting Over gave us a great replacement for scripted soap operas.

Well, I'm here but I'm trying to find my way around a bit.
It's a whole new world. How was everyone's summer. Would you believe I was in New Orleans this past August?
Yeah, I missed Katrina by one week! Whew! It's been a
real stunner seeing places I just was now all gone. I am mentioning this, because I don't know who we had on the old Starting Over forum that was from the New Orleans or Gulf Area that may have been hurt? Anyone know? I hope all the rest of you had a good summer.

I'm quaisai from the original SO boards. I tried for months to get my registration approved. They finally did several days AFTER the final episode of SO2 aired. hmmmm. I'm not crazy about this board either. I think the format bothers me the most. the table of contents is a nuisance. and. the indivigual posts would be much easier to read if they were on a continuous two-tone gray background and not in indivigual tables on a white BG. atleast. that's what I'm seeing here...

I was on the SO from the start of the first season, but I had to change my screen name when they got the new board at the end of last season because it wouldn't let me sign in with my old screen name/password. I heard that happened to a lot of people
Also, if you remember there were so many fights on that board people were getting banned left and right and they would just re register with a new screen name. That board was so offensive sometimes it was almost scarey to be on it. I love this board because the moderators stay on top of everything that is posted and put a lock on anything that needs one. They don't let you just start a new thread for every little thing you want to talk about. And, the best part is that there are no spoiler police.

(Nainai means "grandmother" in Chinese). We did have many interesting discussions on the old religion ( or non-religion)board, which I miss. There is a thread called "The Path" on Andrew's Escape Hatch, but none of the old posters seemed to have found it yet. Perhaps you could join there?

"catsy_sue". I miss the old boards. For one thing, will we get to see info about the "ladies" when they leave the house?? I did enjoy the couples which I truly thought I wouldn't. Been married 43 years to the same guy. Most of the couples just need to grow up and think of their spouse first. We made a vow to put the other one first so that "I" didn't get in the way. Ask our two boys, it has worked.

Yes, I am a poster from the original SO boards and really do not like the new forum for that Website. I used to enjoy sitting down at my computer after I got the grandkids off to school and reading about everyones opinions and comments about what was happening on the show. It gave me a larger insite about each of the guests. I feel that the past houseguests are not updateing thier "where are they now" because they don't feel the closeness that was there before. In other words, the startingovertv.com is just a useless site now. Dear Maureen used to check in all the time, now she hasn't updated since she was on season two. Do you suppose something happened at that time to put her off of Binnum Murray? Also, there used to be a great chat room on kimbookout.com that until the crashers and fake people came in, brought a lot of us together and we still remain friends. Thank goodness for Lynell and Hailey, they provide us an insite on a regular basis, and provide us with many many pictures. I really miss that group (Lilly, Liz, Momof2, AnnePage, Maggie1952 and the rest of the group) and would really like to see a get together again. And Cricket, JJ, Chickie, kat and you know who the rest of you are, I guess I'll see you in games. Those of you who want the message boards back on the SO site can write them a not on the site asking for it back. Who knows, it might help, but it sure can't hurt to tell them of our dissapointment.

I have checked out this site a few times, finally decided to join. I think the old board was much easier to get around on. I still need to learn the tricks here....if I have the patience.

I'm here, I was on the other board under the same username. I haven't posted yet, but I have been enjoying seeing other perspectives on what's going on on the show. I'm the only person in my real life who watches it, and I'm just dying to discuss it sometimes! I also find this board more difficult to navigate, but I like the firm 'no bashing' rule, so I guess it all evens out.

Faithnj here.....I find this message board really hard to navigate. It's just not the same, so I lurk from time to time, but I almost never participate. Plus, if I miss a day, nobody does the recaps around here!!! I hope BM brings the old board back, arguments or no arguments.

Original poster here from the first SOMB of 3 years ago! Last year I did not participate, in my area no channel carried the program! I am indeed quite pleased that SO is again on my daily TV viewing schedule.
I accept with ease the things that I can not change. Like this new MB, I too find it quite hard to connect with ole MB Pals! Awwww the good ole days, where a message had HEART! lol@me!
I imagine the FIRE of the ole MB was a bit too intense for most ...... tho I found it pleasing and informative, even with the many ole rules, it was an excellent exchange of opinions! I'm guessing the Ole Monitors found it hard to manage the misfits, LOL, it was a full time job!
Looking forward to becoming aquainted to the opinions I agree with, and leaving the others alone .. hehehe, is that a rule here too?!? ( giggles as I check the rules, knowing already that I'm harmless.)
Oh Well! Keep Posting! Keep watching the SO Show.
And to EVERY SO Fan ..... HAVE FUN.

Help! I cannot get a page when I go to startingovertv.com.
Every time I've tried to go to the website, it looks like it's going to bring up the page but then I just get a blank blue screen with an x at the top.
I have gotten to this message board only from realitytv.com message boards - and Starting Over is the ONLY reality tv show that I watch, so I'd rather be able to go to SO website and get the scoop and then enter the message board from there.
I've missed the past two days of shows and I really want to know what happened. Navigating through the message board from this site is difficult.
Any suggestions on what might be going on with the SO website?
Has anyone else had these problems with the website?

I posted on the starting over site first. I was unable to watch the show for a while and was really suprised how the site had changed and that you had to come to this site to post. I think I liked the old one better. There were more forums for one thing. Maybe I just need to get used to this one. On the old one they had someone who wrote the next days show because she got it a day early. Now I can't really find spoilers like that. Maybe it's just me.
My station doesn't seem to be airing the same time that the posting on the weeks shows is either.
Yes I guess I am just lost.

I was kelseysmom on the starting over board and I miss it because we have all changed our names in here. We used to go to Kimbookout.com but it became a negative and awful place to be so 10 of us branched out and remain friends and meet in yahoo literati. I wish we could have another chat room but someone else would ruin that too.

I am from the old board too...same name. I like that this board gets alot of action where most of the other S.O. boards only get a few posters...good to see some old names. I miss TVgal and SOKC just to name a couple. Actually I kind of miss all that passionate blustering and fighting that went on...it was always pretty exciting...but eventually over-run by trolls I guess. Gawd Bunnim-Murray is so cheap as to stop having a message board, forgetting to pay to renew their website and referring us to this site while these guys had no idea we were being directed here. Must be spending all their budget on Life Coaches and soap writers...hehehe.
