Did anyone happen to see that the night before she was booted that she said "this is jen's world" to the crowd in the studio and at home. Maybe instead of it being a racist thing maybe its a "stop braggin" thing. She hadn't won anything. Yea she is better than her white counterparts but I dont see the whiteys saying" this is whiteys world"! I bet she is the kind of person who still thinks whitey owes her 40 acres and a mule.

I don't find "this is Jen's world" anything close to bragging. Finding confidence in the face of adversity, particularly when she'd been in the bottom three several times, is commendable. And I consider your last comment about "40 acres and a mule" to be rude and uncalled for.

Well brainy read the papers and watch the news. Nows its a racist thing. Its not like any of these people have any "real" talent! I showed my girl a tape from one of the shows and as much as I hate christine aguillera, she has a real voice and real talent and none of those people come close to her.

I know sports well, as we have a former pro football player (and now scout) in the family. This is not football, and I think the comparison of Jennifer Hudson to a pro-ball player who makes millions is an incongruous analogy. And, gosh, there are no racist white people in sports, are there? That would be a rhetorical question, by the way.

OK, I was trying to ignore this thread because I, for one, think we have way too many threads about or relating to Jennifer. She's gone, move on. (Note to webby - how about a Jennifer Hudson forum?)But then you had to go and bring up TO. Now, TO is totally off topic, but I can't ignore this one. (Note to webby - how about a TO forum?) To ask the question, "Do you know anything about sports?" implies that either YOU don't, and are looking for info, or YOU DO, and you are being rude. (webby - do we have a sports forum?) The connection you are making doesn't work (I mean the cocky trash-talking athelete T.O. link to Jennifer Hudson, not the sports - singing link, which, by the way, doesn't work either) TO is good for sports. Football is a game, and games are made for players, and there aren't many better than TO. But what makes him good for sports is that he's an excellent player and controversial. I like the sharpie/pom-pom hooplah he's created. It is fun to watch. And his actions back up his talk. Football is an emotional, intense, physical, trash-talking game. TO is not the first or the last athelete to get caught up in that, and that's fine because that creates interest, AND HE IS NOT RELYING ON POPULARITY. That's the difference, to me. I agree that Jennifer has no business being cocky, because even though this is a "competition" you are being judged by your attitude (and marketability). When someone acts cocky they get a reaction out of others around them. If you are TO, and can still go out and make the plays, more power to you. If you are Jennifer Hudson, and need others to vote for you, bad strategy.

The way that I understood it what she was referring to when she said that was that she was finally singing the style of songs that she wanted to and that she felt were most like her style and not that the competition was hers to rule.

I saw this post just minutes after you put it up, and I almost answered you then, but I thought I'd wait. I now see that you have had several replies, and I am saddened by your behavior and attitude.You see, a few weeks ago, I was a "newbie" here, as you are now. I came here with the best intentions, and I wanted to talk about AI, too. I asked a few questions and was rudely directed to the "help" section. I then read several other posts and saw that the people here repeatedly had to correct "newbies" for violating rules, for posting duplicate posts, and for sometimes for coming in here like they own the place and being extremely rude. I was pretty angry that I was being grouped in with the other "newbies" who were inexperienced, obnoxious, ridiculous in their attitudes, and just plain ignorant. I wasn't here to be a blister under anyone's skin. I wasn't here to see who I could tick off and how many people I could infuriate. I just wanted to talk about that darn red headed kid who is still hanging in there on AI. So, after a couple of weeks of wading through the initiation of being a new person, I am feeling much more comfortable here. I was thinking that I had proven to everyone that "newbies" don't have to be idiots. And then YOU come along. You post about Jennifer with only half of the appropriate information. Timb is right in the context in which she made her statement. The other people here are right. And, your statement about the 40 acres is extremely uncalled for. I hope you will re-think your stance and improve your attitude if you intend to stay here. As a relative newbie, I am embarrassed for you.

JENNIFER can really come off as very proud and overconfident. In addition to what you mentioned, I also saw her at the end of last show signaling "2" ( to ask the viewers to vote for George ). Did she think she was gonna garner enough votes to stay in the game without campaigning for herself? Someone can really be turned off by that. i guess, that's why they voted for George instead of her. Could that explain her expulsion from the show? Butin reality, I don't think Jennifer is a braggart (or however you like it) She seems to be nice and down to earth. And she is very talented too. I guess she simply wanted her george to stay in the game and that she thought that with her good performance, she was safe. I cannot blame her for thinking that way because whenever she gets a bad comment from the judges, she gets in the bottom 3 and whenever she gets good comments, she is safe. In that last performance of hers, all she got was postive comments from the judges. I would think too that she was safe.
