I think it's now safe to say that if anyone does manage to escape, they're going to be hunted down and killed. No witnesses, no personal accounts, no rumors or tales. Just a bunch of corpses dropped off around the world.
Why kill Tori? No, try it this way -- why bring Tori in at all? A strike against her father? Was the point to push her until she broke, then punish her for it? What's the point of any so-called Protocol? What was Janet supposed to do within the twenty minutes they had before dying which would have triggered a release? Or was that test meant for Joe?
The word 'recruitment' keeps hovering at the outside edges of sight: maybe the place is meant to push the inhabitants to the point where they're capable of joining this group. Stockholm Syndrome with extra teeth. But would you want some of these people working for you? Not the baboon...
BTW, I checked: there is a DVD set on the horizon. Let's hope it stays on Amazon's preorder list -- given the way NBC's kicking this around, that might be the only way we ever get our supposed answers.
