maizenblue 17 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Got Milk? Spokesperson" 01-11-06, 11:19 AM (EST) "TJ and Lisa" I was starting to think that TJ was changing, but then she went and proved otherwise. I could not believe she took over Kim doing Lisa's hair like that!! And then when she totally denied telling Jill that she told her Lisa said she was still lazy! I wish Jill would have told her where to go. I still think that Lisa needs to go. I am so sick of hearing about mommy and daddy do this for me and that, and I am 40 and don't understand why I am this way. She just seems so fake. I hope she will be able to make in on her own when she leaves the SO house.   Top

It was Lisa's place to tell TJ to back off - nicely! - that Kim was doing her hair. But Lisa appeared to be enjoying the tug of war over her hair. She seemed not to care at all about Kim's feelings (that's right. TJ is not the only one in the House with feelings). I will be so happy when the LCs begin to make some REAL progress with Lisa. She seems as shallow and mean (that was mean. Just like when she used to talk about being a prostitute before Christina. Underneath all that giggly-poo, the woman is mean) as the day she walked in the door.   Top

For one thing she has ADHD. And as for myself having a son with ADHD, I know pretty much their way of thinking. Which sometimes can be none existant. My son has a very hard time connecting with people. And changes topics in a conversation from one minute to the next. And then sometimes I will say you said this do you remember saying that. And he'll say no I didn't say that. So I really don't think that TJ is consciously aware of what she says and doesn't say. I believe it's not like she purposely forgets what she was said. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I am just so sick and tired of people picking apart TJ. I just wish people would cut her some slack! And if anyone has noticed her life coach has not really focused on her or her issues since she has been there. It's always the other girls that get the most assignments and praise. And TJ is always the one hung out to dry. JMO   Top

In fact, I'm sick of the backstabbing, gossipy witches on this show! Why don't the LC's do something about that? And why is Jill calling Jessica? ADHD does exist and is a serious issue if not addressed. I hope to God that TJ gets out of that house before more damage is done to her. It's a very unhealthy evironment for her!   Top

"RE: TJ and Lisa" The ADHD is a challenge for TJ and from what we've seen on the show, it doesn't seem as though Rhonda has dealt with TJ's ADHD-influenced behaviors very effectively, nor has TJ had any ongoing work with an ADHD specialist. However, I can see that it would be *very* frustrating to have TJ as a housemate. It doesn't seem as though TJ's housemates have had much substantive orientation as to how they can best make themselves heard by her when she's in the midst of her talk, talk, talking, bringing in seemingly unrelated and irrelevant matters, etc.   Top

Yet she could connect with people; she could get along with others; she didn't try to boss everyone around. But, if Lisa actually does have ADHD, what should the LCs do for her? Can they do anything? If it is so bad that she cannot even remember what she said from one moment to the next, should she even be in the SO? Something that serious sounds medical, not life coachy. And from what you've said of ADHD - and you're living with it - what can the LCs possibly do to help her?   Top

Sorry, ADD doesn't give you an excuse to be a overbearing flippin idiot. I don't dislike her, I just don't like her behavior sometimes. How many times is it going to happen? I'm tired of her playing the I have ADHD or DDHP or the CLAP whatever it's called. Where did these diseases come from anyway? We never heard of any of these things several years ago. Anyway she takes medication for it. Maybe just maybe she is an insensitive CONTROL freak. And besides that TJ isnt in the house to do something about her ADHD. This is her BIO: TJ seems to rub everyone the wrong way except her loving and supportive husband. She has no friends, no social life, and is filled with loneliness. She believes that the "Staring Over" house may be her last chance to learn how to control her impulses and connect with another human being. The question is: Can she meet her goal before she drives the other women in the house crazy?   Top

"RE: TJ and Lisa" I think it's easy to deny someone has a disorder you don't know anything about and pretend it doesn't exsist and I think that's the approach Rhonda and IV have taken towards TJ's ADHD. They have failed to educated themselves, the other HG and the viewers about the disorder and how it effects the person and those who live and work with him/her. As a teacher I've seen TJ in many of my students and often in the parents I work with often enough not to be suprised with what she says and does. The fact that she's learned inappropriate coping skills also doesn't suprise me, if not taught the skills than people do learn a variety of coping skills some more effective and socially acceptable than others. The truth is there are lots of effective strategies that could be taught to TJ and the other HG's that would be effective not just for TJ but for Lisa and most of the others as well. One thing I learned as I implemented certain strategies for my ADHD students is that they had positive impacts on other students as well. You'd be suprised what you can learn when exposed to different ways of learning something. I really hope whether she graduates or not that her hubby pulls her out of there because it is obvious they have no plans to help her at all.   Top

"RE: TJ and Lisa" I agree that she uses her ADHD as an excuse to treat people as she does. She knows what she is saying and she knows how she behaves towards others. That said, I also believe that Rhonda is not doing much to help her, in the aspect of her controlling behavior when all the changes in the house happened. (Walking in the bathroom and taking over doing Lisa's hair from Kim). Having history with people who do have ADD/ADHD, change is difficult for them and it takes a lot of work on their part and alot of patience from people around them. I think Rhonda should be there, supporting and guiding her, and helping her housemates to understand and support her!!! We are not being shown if that is going on. Maybe it is, behind the scenes. I think TJ is a good person. I can relate to her on many different levels. I believe she will reach her goal!!!   Top

It is obvious many of her struggles are due to her disorder. Trying to control ones impulses does not work all the time, even if you don't have ADD/ADHD. I couldn't imagine being in her situation.   Top

TJ also is also dysleic (sp) I like TJ, also when Haily was in the house they sent her and her mom to a specialist to put Hailey on meds and learn how to deal with her ADHD , If I am not mistaken TJ also has real problems with eye sight too, TJ has been treated like sh t from that house from the get go, Rhonda doesn't like her plain and simple. so she won't get the help she needs from that house, unless your Rhondas pet your aced out.   Top

"RE: TJ and Lisa" I truly hope her husband takes her home because it is obvious the LC have no clue about ADHD and no desire to learn appropriate strategies to teach her or the other HG on how to work with her which is sad because it would be a benifit to the HG and the viewers to learn more. Many of the strategies are appropriate for lots of different kinds of situations. However, the show has chosen drama over effective treatment. Allison regurally brought her breast cancer into every conversation she had even ones that made no sense at all. I've rarely seen TJ mention her ADHD at all. She actually has been trying to use the terms given to her by Rhonda to describe the mistakes she makes and the things she needs to ask for. She often doesn't use the terms correctly but she is trying. I don't see her sitting back and saying I get to screw up because I have a disorder. I did see Jessica, Allsion and Lisa always using their issues as a good reason for behaving inappropriately towards others. Lisa regurally trots out her problems as a reason why she can't do X,Y,Z.   Top

We weren't allowed to see the close relationships that developed amongst TJ, Jill, and Jessica. And regardless of what anyone else says about TJ, she did make the connections she wanted. I'm happy that she was able to resolve her issues with Jill and how the three of them are still good friends. TJ has the last laugh.   Top
