LAST EDITED ON 01-10-06 AT 08:59 PM (EST)There is NO WAY I'd do this show or any other reality show where the contestants are followed day and night.
My friend works for an organization that has a lot of contact with reality show writers (I'm being intentionally vague here) and here is how the editing works:
Producer: "Tell us why you hate Jim"
Contestant: "I don't
Producer: "Tell us why you hate Jim"
Contestant: "I don't
Producer: "Tell us why you hate Jim"
Contestant (angrily): "I'm not going to tell you that I hate Jim"
3 months later, we turn on the TV to see the contestant say (angrily): "I hate Jim" and cuts in a completely unrelated shot of contestant making an ugly face, next to a shot of Jim walking out of the room on a totally different day.
The contracts that you have to sign to appear on these shows are so airtight, that EVERY WORD you utter, in any order, becomes their property.
That, combined with every frame they shoot of you, means that for the duration of the shoot, you are owned by a television production company, and they can manipulate your image and words to their purpose.
It's a risk I would never, ever take.
