Phillip Sheppard “the Specialist” might not be too happy to hear that I’m enjoying my hiatus from duty. But it’s nice to get away from all the craziness and having to pretend I enjoy him (??). It’s kind of nice to get away from the craziness. If Phillip was sitting on the New Gota beach I don’t think he would be too pleased. We’re relaxed, we don’t stress about things, he’s not in charge. I’m not sure how he would react to the new aura we’re all operating under, it’s not (his) style to play this game like we’re playing right now, for us to be getting along with people he would categorize as the enemy. I don’t know what Phillip would do but he would be in our ears, every time he had a minute he would be pulling us aside and telling us to not be getting too close to these old Gotas. He doesn’t want any shake-up in the Favorites hierarchy. So Phillip wouldn’t be too thrilled with how things are running over here. We can kind of relax for the first time in over two weeks now.   Top

Not only is the beach completely different, it’s very wide open, we have new faces, new people, and it’s just so relaxed. Over on the old tribe, the Favorites, it was a lot of stress all the time 24/7. Here just kind of chillin’. I mean, I’m trying to get some strategy with my old members and figure out what’s going to go on, but for now it’s very very relaxed compared to the old tribe. It feels really good to have almost a fresh start. We have three new people, I love getting to know people, and I could use these people down the road, build relationships now. Because there’s a good chance that these people could be jury members. They could go well into the game, and you never know who you are going to need to rely on. So I’m really enjoying getting to know three new people. Sherri and Reynold and Eddie, they have a very interesting relationship. Reynold and Eddie are buddies, they’re like brothers, they are inseperable. And then you have Sherri who does not like them. When we first got out here Sherri pulled Brenda and I aside and started giving us the dirt, they're awful. There’s a lot of friction between Sherri and the two guys. I don’t know if it was that smart of Sherri to blurt out everything as soon as we got here, but she wants nothing to do with the guys, she wants to vote Reynold out. Reynold and Eddie are not enamored of Sherri either, I mean every time she goes away they call her crazy and nuts. It’s interesting because you have to remember we’re playing a game, there is a chance that maybe somehow they are working together and they could fool us. We have to be really careful, because if they are tricking us we’re idiots. But right now it looks like there is a definite divide between Reynold and Eddie and Sherri.   Top

I love it, I love it, I really do love it. I needed a switch to happen. We were pretending to be all united in the other tribe but I felt like I was on the bottom. I had no idea what was going on, I had different people telling me different things. I had no control over what was happening, and that’s not a good feeling. So coming here it’s obvious we need to take out one of the Fans. On top of that what makes me so happy, we have a physically strong tribe. Win rewards, that’s what I want! I’m craving rewards rewards rewards. So with this tribe against the other tribe, we got them. So, with me with the fans, it’s cool. But these people don’t know, it’s like yeah let’s eat all the rice, let’s do this. Like, we’ve given them tips, but I think this is the first time I feel like we actually are Favorites and there actually are Fans here. Versus we’re all Favorites and we actually know everything. It’s interesting because it looks like everyone here is an open book. We have clearly Sherri and we have clearly Reynold and Eddie, both sides of that are extremely open, telling us everything, and both sides match. My instinct is that Sherri is telling us more of the truth. I feel like Reynold and Eddie are playing us a little bit, they need our help. So it feels comfortable, it totally changes my game plan. I thought they would be tight, we would be tight, but it looks like all of them are ready to get something going. For me it’s good, I’m eating up all of this information. Eddie and Reynold are saying this stuff, I kind of believe them, but everything I got from Sherri I think is good stuff.   Top

"Erik Confessional" http://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/video/niLUZWE3cu5_zb01SB9BFmttbJNgnSbJ/survivor-caramoan-i-was-super-nervous/ I was super nervous when we went to the swap, I was super nervous I wasn’t going to get on a good tribe. I broke the egg on my chest and it was bright orange, I was worried I wasn’t going to be on a tribe that I liked, I was really worried I was going to be on a tribe with Phillip again. After I saw, probably a couple of seconds after I broke the orange egg, I looked over and I saw that Reynold had orange, Reynold, Eddie, Malcolm, Andrea all had orange, I was super excited. Just being in a new place, I’m forgetting all these memories of the old, all these memories of Brandon going insane, of Francesca the first day, all the paranoia. There’s so much more room, I feel like I can breathe on the Gota beach, I feel like I can actually breathe and enjoy my time here. I’m almost at vacation on this beach. It was a much needed relief being here. The Bikal beach was driving me a little crazy, the Bikal beach was almost like a prison it was so small, so compacted in. And the living situation, all eight of us were packed into this tiny little camp like sardines. The Bikal beach was driving me crazy, this is actually a blessing in disguise coming over here. At first I wasn’t excited, oh no I have to go to a new beach, but it turned out great, this place is awesome. I’m so excited, I want to go exploring later, I want to go look around and see all the stuff that this island has to offer. It’s gorgeous, it’s beautiful here. We’re loving the sunshine here. Today is a very calm day, I’m enjoying this day a lot. I’m chilled out on a brand new beach, it feels so open and fresh and new and wonderful. But I know that tomorrow the game is going to keep going. I’m just trying to take a breather before the game continues on, because I know once this game gets rolling it’s going to get really fast and it’s going to get really scary. And it’s going to be really fun.   Top

"Julia Confessional" http://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/video/yMtF5g7Xi2SPWNhui0RQO7Tl9wKWebB6/survivor-caramoan-a-sense-of-relief/ We go to the challenge and we’re told to drop our buffs, and my old tribe and I had been thinking we might be mixing it up sometime soon which we weren’t particularly excited for because we were down in numbers. When we smashed the eggs and I saw that I was purple I had almost a sense of relief, there’s a novelty to going to this new tribe. I was really happy to come over with Mike and Matt. We were a strong alliance so I was really happy to see that. We’ll see how this plays out, I was pretty excited. The one downside is that it was clear that the new Gota tribe had much more brute muscle than this new Bikal tribe has, so that’s definitely something that we’re considering going into challenges, are we going to be able to keep up. We’ve got a lot of synergy and it’s going really well but none of us want to go to Tribal Council. The new Bikal is myself, Phillip, Cochran, Corinne, Dawn, Michael and Matt. We might be looked at, besides me, as the older tribe, the slightly more mature tribe, which I’m perfectly happy to be on. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on the younger more athletic tribe. I’m happy to be here. I think that it’s always nerve-wracking when you’re in the minority, and with experienced players none the less, I have to be on my guard. And they know we’re all nervous, and we think that they’re a little nervous. Matt, Michael and I definitely need to soak up as much as we can, to try to be aware. If we go to Tribal, more likely than not one of the three of us will be going home. So I’m trying to gauge how I fit in with the tribe. One thing that was a little weird, when we got to camp we were blown away with how nice it was, condiments, chairs and blankets – but the old Favorites tribe were overly friendly. Michael and Matt and I were definitely concerned that they were trying to make these last couple of days as pleasant as possible, or is this really how they are? Dawn is definitely a very motherly figure, maybe that plays into it. They have their dynamic. But we have to question everything (pause)… we’re clearly on the chopping block. We need to keep our guard up, all of us want to make the merge. We'll see.   Top
