PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

I can understand why NBC is doing this, but I really have to question whether this is going to work. Pre-Survivor, I used to be a big Friends viewer, but I stopped taping it somewhere around S3 and haven't seen the show except 1-2 times since.First off, for Friends fans I have to think this pretty much kills any suspense that Rachel and Joey are going to end up living happily ever after -- and hasn't the Rachel/Joey/Ross triangle been played up as a maor stoyrline for the last season? Talk about your major spoiler leaks... Beyond that, these types of things are always tricky. Ya, Frasier worked for them 10 years ago, but I dunno... but then again I'm sure folks were saying the same thing 10 years ago. The only difference of course is that back then Kelsey Grammer hadn't already been making $1,000,000 an episode on Cheers (although the reports are that LeBlanc will make much less on "Joey.") The reality is this show is only happening because LeBlanc is the only one of the six who would do a spinoff -- all the rest of the cast have had some decent big screeen successes and have no interest (at this time) in doing any more television work. And with the $70-80 million that NBC has paid EACH OF THEM over the last half a dozen years or so, there's no chance of getting any of them to do anything they aren't completely sold on. -SB

I don't think NBC is stupid enough to put this on Thursday against Survivor. Like Frasier, it will probably start out in a "safe" time slot. I think NBC is hoping Coupling takes off, they want to use that to replace the new "Friends".

I don't think it will work. Frasier worked because, the character, wasn't really a major part of cheers towards the end, he was more of a recurring guest star, at that point, even though he was still listed in the credits every week, he didn't have a major role in very many eps, during the last few seasons.but friends has always been about the 6 of them, if you take obe out it's just not the same,
