As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
The "Twins" challenge was pretty odd in that the players had to pair up before they went to the challenge; somehow Coach and Rick were paired and able to take the caller and rope handler jobs for Upolu; Jim and Cochran were paired and they had to use Cochran somewhere, once it was decided Keith and Ozzy would run the course for Savaii the caller and rope handler jobs had to be decided between Jim and Cochran. (And wasn't production lucky that the tribes were even up at six each for the twins theme.)
I really don't blame Cochran for blowing the Secret Agent job, he did his part at the arena as well as possible, Ozzy oversold it. Cochran went ahead and tried to do the mission anyway but Coach let him know straight up that he knew what was really going on. From that point onward Cochran was in a corner, he knew Upolu was taking it to the mattresses. Still, he stuck with Savaii through the first vote. The group odds favored Savaii in drawing rocks since only Jim and Cochran would have to risk it, but the individual odds were the same for everyone drawing the rocks and the only way to avoid it was to change his vote. The merge vote, the one time when Cochran should have been very safe, but no, once again it's his neck. The only Savaii who can justifiably be angry with Cochran is Jim, since he was willing to gamble himself going all in on the rock.
I'm going to have to rewatch it, it was after midnight when I got to watch the recording after having spent a lot of time driving one of the worst detours in Indiana (twice). Very odd merge episode with even the vote targets getting little attention, very odd.
