LAST EDITED ON 09-02-06 AT 03:53 PM (EST)The problem with Angela, (IMHO) is that she was never suited for Haute Couture. She does not "do" elegent, she does the gimmiky, fad stuff that appeals to a much younger client. As I said before, Angela is the perfect designer for the teenybopper crowd who can pull off bubble skirts and blouses, and who would look at her "FLEURCHON" as "cute." Her outfit was so wrong, she had to go. There was no elegance, no class, and certainly no jetsetterness (is that a word? lol) about it at all. As she said: "This is signiture Angela"
Having said that, her other problem is that her personality is not suited for this sort of competition. Granted, Jeffery IS a rude, obnoxious bully who believes he's somehow entitled to treat people like crap, but it's not like people like that have never crossed her path before -- we all have delt with this type of idiot before. The telling part is the way we handle it. You can ignore it and stay focused, or you can keep attempting to get this type of person to back down, or retract the poison they spew. Since this IS a competition, his bullying is a form of manipulation and it worked on Angela. She was far more focused on what he was saying, than on the job at hand.
I don't have a problem with Jeffery's win this week, as he did present something that perfectly fit the challange. What I don't like is his constant eye rolling every time the judges say something positive about anyone elses design. It's a clear indication that this guy is insecure, but hides behind a bunch of "I'm soooooooo missunderstood, and I'm sooooooooo damned wonderful" BS.
But, there will be no living with him next episode. LOL
