"Hayden & Aaron Slow Torture"
Aaaaaaggghhhhh!........just finished watching the latest TAR6 Episode 6 videos on the CBS web site. I can now say that Hayden is the "TAR racer from HELL!" My entire body racked in pain from watching the "The Wrong Way" and "Think we'll ever see him again" clips featuring the she-devil Hayden and the doormat Aaron. If you are into pain and suffering, then by all means go and view this "train wreck". Otherwise hide the small children and pets whenever Hayden comes knockin' at your door.

As my screen-name implies, I want to run this race. BUT... could I take off 6 weeks from my job and expect to have it when I return? How about you? What excuse would you give to YOUR boss? How true is this for most of us?
The only ones who can take that much time off are either retired, between jobs, are students, or are self-employed. This includes the model/actor crowd. I think that despite the large number of people who apply, "normal" people like us back out when confronted with the reality of being away from job and family for 5-6 weeks. That's why we will continue to see the models on this show.

That is a very good point. Being self employed, I hadn't given that thought enough weight. My friend is a union carpenter, and with enough planning could get the time off. Another potential partner is a mountain guide, so in between clients he wouldn't have much of a problem either. Surely there must be other opportunities for people involved in other professions to get out and run the race.

I work for the government and could take LWOP (leave without pay) to go on any number of reality shows and still have my job when I got back. When I worked in the private industry, I could have easily asked for, and received, the time off needed to run the race. I wouldn't have gotten paid, but would certainly have had my job when I returned.
