"Average Jane"
I wonder if they'll have a sequel where a good looking guy gets to choose from among a bunch of "average" women (by the standards they're using to choose these guys). Could be a problem, though. As every guy knows, five drinks can turn almost any dog into a fox.

What I'd really like to see is Average People, where they bring back all the contestants from the first two versions. Perhaps there really is someone for everyone.

No, the sequel doesn't star a man choosing from "average janes." I'll be posting a news story about this later...

I told my hubby they should do an average Jane, and he said it would never float because it wouldn't make the network money because no men would want to watch all the average girls. In his words heavy girls.

I would love to see a striaght-up, no-gimmicks "Average Jane" show where an Average Guy like Dennis gets to choose from a bunch of average looking girls.

For me, one problem with these shows is I don't buy the premise that these great looking guys and gals need a TV show to help them find an awesome mate. I want to see a guy like Dennis, whom we've seen is a decent, caring guy, find the love of his life on TV - and to me, it doesn't matter WHAT she looks like.

So is this some sort of double standard then?
Great society we leave in..

Exactly! It is fine for a man to have a little weight or a lot for that matter, but if a woman isn't built like a 12 year old boy, or calista flockart etc, she is fat.

I understand that you are exagerating, but there is good point there. At least men have an honest, well defined view on what they find desirable in a woman. Mel is typical of most women, she has a secretive, and amorphous view on what she wants in a man. She says that looks are not important to her, that she is looking for someone with *personality* and *inner beauty*, but we have learned that is not true. So the guys she cut, whom already know they are not that good looking, are effectively told that they no have personality or inner beauty either. The guy in a Average Jane show would be more honest, so much so, that the show would cease to be entertaining.

My experience has been that a woman with a great personality gets more attractive the better you get to know her. The extra layer of fat doesn't seem like such a big deal, while the beautiful smile becomes more noticeable.

I think there's a good possibility that, with the right leading man, the Average Jane series could show how a man may start out with primarily physical desires, but his priorities change as he gets to know the Janes.

it wouldn't be as exciting because for one, guys usually tell THE TRUTH about who they want, and alot now know that if they star on average Joe/JILL, they're getting AVERAGE people
