Maxine 5 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "American Cancer Society Spokesperson" 12-20-05, 11:03 AM (EST) "Kudos for Christine" The difference between Christine and other prostitutes is that she got herself on this show and is willing to do the work therapy requires. Just by being there she is giving a gift to the others because she gives support. And that is a lot. I have seen many postings making fun of her and that disappoints me. Even if she went back to her old lifestyle she deserves happiness--whatever that means for her and her alone. It would only make me sad if she got hurt, raped or killed, and that is the danger. As far as judging her----well, I just can't do that. I think she has a great smile and is smart and definitely has what it takes to reach her goal.   Top

"RE: Kudos for Christine" I think one of her problems is one you pointed out is she has a great smile. Christine does get by because she is pretty and is able to charm people by her looks. Imagine if you can for a moment Christine's habits and skills on someone less physically attractive and see if you would still be willing to tolerate her for who and what she is without her good looks. As many woman discover you can't count on having those to fall back on you have to have something inside that makes it work. Christine may come around and make something of herself but as long as she does rely on her looks alone she will always have to hustle her living. She has to realize that while her looks can be an asset it shouldn't be her only asset. She does need to focus on getting her GED and then getting job training in some area that will give her real skills not just her imaginary ones. The exercise they did with Kim about reality vs. fantasy of her childhood is one Christine sadly needs about her future. Dreams and goals are great to have but they don't put food on the table and clothes on her son. In order to do that she needs to accept the reality of what it will take to get a real job that requires real daily effort and skills and not superficial looks and charm.   Top
