That was a great scene at IC when Laura was the last one to throw her rock...they realy edited it to play up the drama. She misses, Jeff says "That's it - no shot at immunity," then Shambo cracks up laughing and high fives someone (I think Russell).
I also liked the earlier shot where Shambo was saying how they have to slay the beast (Laura), then they cut to a close-up of someone chopping a coconut with a huge knife.
I think they pretty much just confirmed who flips, since the commercial asks us to vote for 1 of 3 players for the "Player of the Week" and the options are RussHell, Mick and John.

Yes, I love Erik's quotes and reactions. This is the most "speaking" time I've ever seen given to a juror...and they even put his finals words -- "there goes the lead" -- up on screen.
There was definitely a bit of redemption for Erik tonight....first with John saying that voting Erik out in a last minute decision was stupid, then Shambo saying to Jeff at TC that as far as she was concerned, the Galu tribe was dead when they voted Erik out. (And of course Laura disagreed.)

I would - Foa Foa has the numbers in their favour now, 5-4. As long as Shambo stays with them, it doesn't matter what the four Galus do as the FFs have a clear road to the final episode.
There's no reason for RussHell's idol to have an impact on the remaining episodes, except maybe for F5 to protect himself from a 3-2 vote if Shambo acts as a swing vote.

Yes, I think they definitely want the viewer to think that it's Russell being targeted...especially when Shambo goes to Mick and Jaison to get their blessing on the plan.
Mick and Jaison are finally getting a little more editing time and we even had a couple strategy confessionals from Mick...but it's still the RussHell and Nat show. Russhell was the narrator for a lot of the show tonight, but Natalie had some good narrator time on the reward. I think the challenge was also a "starring" role for Natalie.

Michel, regarding whether John went up to Russell or vice versa:
I had to leave the room a couple times, so I think I missed part of it. But I know for sure that earlier when Mick/Jaison were telling Russell about the new development with Monica and the possibility of voting out John instead, Russell was the one to say that he's planning to go to John and let him know what's up. Then I don't recall if it was immediately afterwards, or if there was another scene inserted in between, but the next thing was that John and Russell were talking about it.
Brett was the one to clue John in on the Monica plan....so yes, John already knew by the time he talked to Russell....but it still was a "courtesy" (and a trust-building thing, if you can ever call it that with Russell--ha!) on R's part to let J know.

As I recall you're in Canada and can't see the clips...so here's how it plays out -- whether it was time manipulation, it's hard to tell:
- Russell tells Jaison that "the only way for this to work, we need to let John know (about Monica's plan)."
- Then there's a cut to Brett and John talking, and Brett fills John in on Monica's plan. (John is not happy.)
-- Then Dave comes by and D and B try to convince John that he should be willing to go along with the plan.
-- Then there's a John confessional saying it's a stupid plan and he's not going to go down for Laura's sake.
-- Then there's a cut to John and Russell...can't really tell for sure who's approached who, but the implication is that Russell has sought out John. John askes, "So what have you heard?" and Russell tells him "I want to let you know...." and then he says "I believe we're about to be swindled." Then he explains to John that he thinks there will be a tie, etc. and that's when John asks "what about next vote" and R makes a deal to vote out an FF next time (but John says he knows it's BS).

I think he did tell the others. They must have known he had the idol so the Galus directed their votes to Natalie instead. I think the editors wanted to build a little suspense, making the average viewer think that Galu would go for RussHell if they didn't show him telling others on TV, and ta da, surprise, they're voting for Natalie.

Yes, in hindsight you're probably right Pepe. They just wanted to leave some doubt for the viewers. Although you never know with Russell!
Also, did I miss it, or did they not show the infamous hammock scene where Russell says he KNOWS he didn't need immunity tonight??? I recall a couple hammock shots/confessionals, but not the quote that was in the promo...although I did have to leave the room a couple times. I'm going to have to rewatch it tomorrow.
For me, this was a good episode but not great. I think the prior 2 TCs were a lot better. I was really hoping to see the 2 min. pow-wow in between votes...did they not do it? Or did they just edit it out? Maybe it was boring, but I was hoping for some negotiating and deals.

The scene where Shambo told Brett she was voting Laura was very interesting. There was special music and it was a bit poignant...I guess they do have a close relationship.
I thought Shambo's quote to Brett in that scene was interesting too: "There is no more Galu." For some reason there's this childlike, naive quality to Brett....it was kinda like she was telling him there was no Santa Claus!

Maybe it's just me, but I think the "Next Time, On Survivor" was edited. I slowed it on DVR several times, and when the camera is on Shambo, it looks like you see a bit of Jaison's arm (Not Dave). Also, you never see her and the men in the same frame.

I was just reading Trixiego's play by play over at Sucks since I missed part of tonight's episode, and I thought this was interesting -- it was John who 1st mentioned Natalie (vs. RussHell) as the boot target (see below). It appears he was not aware that RussHell has the HII, and this is way before Monica comes up with the "vote John" plan.
P.S. Dave jumps on board in a second...I guess that's his way to make rash decisions:
John: What's up
Dave: We were talking
L: Get rid of FF, keep it simple, we vote Russ, if he has idol, flushes it out
John: Answer is Natalie, vote is Natalie
ETA: John said they should vote for Natalie because she's the least likely to have the HII because she didn't even bother to look for it.

I was thinking the same thing...Dave is a twit and John is the only one with a brain on Galu...actually Monica tries but she can't pull things off she's not persuasive or trustworthy enough (esp about Laura)
I really liked John in last night's show. I hope he stays around for a few more eps. Oh no I just jinxed him.
imho I don't think Russhell told anyone about the HII...John said to vote Nat (like Monica said last week). A week late and $1 Million dollars short.
But wow finding a third one...it was smart to double back on Dave. But if Russhell uses it and they put it back in circulation...ugh enough is enough, right BR?!?
