The two three-somes arrive and they have no idea what to do for a while without Jiffy... then they finally start running around trying to figure out what to do before finding the clue in a pirate box. It's a game of Bocce, see how close you can get to a flag on a stick.   Top

First there was the incident when Ben tripped RussSwell in the challenge -- did they get actual footage of the trip? No, just JP throwing Ben out and RussSwell limping (briefly). Now they don't show the chicken actually escaping from the coop, just Shambo making an announcement.   Top

Teams had to open up bags of blocks, make their way through a maze, then stack up the blocks in one pile, then climb through a rope course, then stack up the blocks even higher. Foa Foa barely edged out Galu to finally win their first IC. Good teamwork as they had to hoist up members in order to be able to put the final blocks on top. And, right on cue, the skies opened up and started pouring just as the tribes left the challenge to go back to their camps.   Top

Yasmin was certainly b), and I guess Monica was a) (did we see her do much to help in camp?). I would prolly have been quick to boot Yas too. YofferBoy felt they made the wrong choice. He said that with a tribe of 9 people (after the boot) they still had enough to get things done at camp, and needed the strength for the challenges. Good logic in that. So what do you think? Monica was pathetic in the challenge today and definitely lost it for her team, so I would have voted her out. Absolutely" An individual's challenge strength meant nothing to galu right then. They'll have to sit out 3 people at the next IC so they could always sit out Monica if they need. In survivor, you always vote alliance first and the leader of Galu is LAURA. Monica is her #1 little soldier so Monica wasn't going anywhere.   Top

Absolutely" I just watched the episode again and I have to amend what I said because I attributed Dave's words to Laura. Still, Laura had the final words at TC: "Number 1 for me is what you do in camp," then we saw Laura's vote for Yaz and the camera kept going back to her during the vote reading. At the end, once Yasmin had done the 1st ever high-heel walk of shame, Laura was shown smiling. So, I have to say that Laura could be their leader but so could John and Dave. With Kelly, Brett and Monica, they certainly have the numbers (which are 90210).   Top

"RE: Next time on Survivor" LAST EDITED ON 10-08-09 AT 10:03 PM (EST) -- 48 hours straight of rain; everyone's freezing -- Looks like gross food challenge next week...something with sea slugs -- RussHell tells Liz "she's on thin ice" (per next week's title, thanks to Michel) -- It was a really quick shot, but it kind of looked like Liz lets go of the rope or somehow screws up in a challenge Oh, and I don't think anyone mentioned above that Erik found the HII in a tree in Galu. Pretty easy to find, just like on Fao Fao. Shambu told both Erik and John the clues and apparently didn't even bother to try to find it herself -- what's up with that???!! Erik found it while the others were sleeping...although John was spying and *might* know that Erik has it.   Top

"RE: Next time on Survivor" Couple of quick observations from tonight's episode: -- Club Med alliance = Kelly, Laura, Monica, John, Dave, Brett -- Don't hear much from Laura or Brett...are they being hidden for a reason? -- The apparent outliers on Galu are Shambo, RussSwell, and to a lesser extent, Erik -- Erik tries to talk to both sides, but isn't as tight with 90210 -- John isn't as bad as his original negative edit seemed to portray...he's playing the game and keeping watch on Erik (which could be Erik's downfall??) -- Dave is my fave so far on this tribe...seems like a great character   Top

"RE: Next time on Survivor" Yes, I realize that...but it was definitely edited to make it appear to the audience that he was looking at Erik. Also, when Shambo was giving Erik the clues in the trees, John came running up to them out of nowhere and asked for the clues too....coincidence? Erik even complained about it. John is smart and I think he has his eye on Erik. It will be interesting to see if John hunts for the HII too and realizes Erik has it. Based on Erik's confessional, he doesn't plan to share (even though he promised it to Shambo if she needed it). Will be interesting to see if others on his tribe find out soon that he has it...and if so, what the ramifications will be.   Top

I think he's portrayed as the "pretty boy"/poser but not necessarily dumb. Anyway, it's not that important about John per se -- I agree he's not a main character to be reckoned with. My main point was that John *appears* to be on to Erik having the HII....and Erik's confessional about saving it to play on Day 30 screamed "foreshadowing of downfall" to me. Did anyone else see it that way??? Or maybe I'm misreading things?   Top
