I kind of liked it. Not enough though for it to be the 3rd to last episode ever of Lost though. It was not a favorite of mine nor my least favorite. I loved the first half with the kids. 2nd half dragged a bit and I thought it was a bit heavy handed with all it's symbolism. I feel like it's been confirmed that Jacob is indeed a tool. MIB is certainly more sympathetic. I scratch my head at why they insist he is evil. Are they trying to illuminate the "light that is all of man"? If that's the case I don't see any in Jacob. Jacob as a character to me is incredibly dull.
So was mom the smoke monster originally? No way she killed all those people and sealed up the well by herself right? She had to be some other kind of entity.
If she made it so the brothers can't harm each other then how did Jacob end up killing MIB?
Why does Jacob get to leave? How does that work?
So MIB can see the dead but NOT Jacob. MIB is special but NOT Jacob. I'm trying to think about who can/has seen dead and/or other images on the island. Everyone? Jack-Christian, Hurley-various, Kate-horse, Ben-mother, Sun/Jin-never did right?, Locke-Walt, Shannon-Walt, Richard-Isabella, Sayid? anyone?, Charlie? Ecko-Ana Lucia, Yemi...are there more? Is this relevant?
I liked how these characters looked so similar to our familiar ones. I thought Claudia looked like Kate, twins mother-Helen, Roussou, one of shipwrecked guys in jumgle looked like Sawyer.
The episode I thought rapidly answered many questions, especially in the first half, and it leaves me hope that they really do have time to answer more.
