"Thoughts after watching the show a 2nd time"
Hi all -

Each week this season i've been more and more disappointed. I think the post about "the chill factor" is right on the money. There are no standouts yet this season.

So this morning, i sat down with my cup of coffee, and watched the 9 performances again, thinking maybe i was tired last night and in a bad mood, or preoccupied.

Fantasia - to quote the dawg 'aiight, just aiight.', shes been much better, seemed safe to me.

JPL - last night i thought he was good, this morning my thoughts are that Simon was right (once again), he has a good voice in there, it just seems "trapped", he needs some help w/ the voice.

Jasmine - OK, not her best, missed quite a few notes. again "aiight"

Johnny Red - I have to say, i don't agree with the judges that it was dreadfully awful. I gotta give this boy his props for stepping out of his safe box, and taking a risk a'la JPL and Clay did. Yeah, he missed some notes, but i can't say it was horrific. Camille was worse, IMHO.

Camille - Bye-bye.

George - Another amazing performance. The thing that George has that others don't is the ability to pick THE perfect song each week. He also infused a bit of the good old fashioned gospel groove into each song to make it his own. "Pilot" was perfect for him. Just excellent.

LaToya - good, but safe. She has the pipes, yet nothing has blown me away as when she made the final 12 cut.

Diana - Teh first week or two i was impressed. Lately, i am not. Again, she has the pipes, she is just picking to "sassy" of songs, as Elton said. She can wow us, but only with better song picks.

Jennifer - I've loved you since the top 32. Thank you for proving that I have been right. I definately got "chills" with your performance.

Overall, my impressions are the same as last night. Not a good week.

bottom 3 - anyone but Jennifer & George.

Bootee - I hate to say it, but it should be Camille. She hasn't stepped up to the plate.
