This is Kenny ... and it's misdirection, won't result in his booting, I'd think. >* A simple plan is hatched to >put the hidden immunity idol >into play, resulting in a >shocking turn of events at >Tribal Council. Is this going to result in a bounce and boot for the person directly responsible for trying to pull out Sugar's idol? I didn't get a sense from yesterday's episode that Sugar's story was nearing an end, so I don't think she's getting the boot this coming episode.

One castaway finds himself scrambling to secure an alliance, having attempted unsuccessfully to blindside one of his allies. This must be Bob. He's lost Corinne and the plan to oust Matty didn't work. I think it's Kenny. I think 1 & 3 are Kenny. Bob only had Corrine, and he didn't try to blindside her, they were working together trying to save themselves. Kenny tried to blindside Matty. And I think Crytal told Sugar about it, and that's why Sugar said what she said at TC about "someone lying to you about a fake idol and you have to choose to believe them." Tis the season.

I think 1&3 are Kenny also. But one question, did Kenny, Crystal, and the rest know that the idol Bob make was fake ?? Maybe I missed something. Even after Corinne was voted out, did she have the fake idol ? Or does Bob still have it ? The reason I ask is that in the previews for the next episode, when Kenny confronts Bob, it wasn't clear to me whether he was angry because the idol was fake or because Corinne didn't play the "idol" which would have sent Matty home. I know Sugar makes a reference to a fake idol at TC, but I just figured she was referring to Randy. If Bob still has the fake idol and still no one else knows it is fake, then maybe when Bob says to Kenny "if I win the next immunity challenge, I will give 'it' to you..." he could possibly put the fake idol back into play to an unsuspecting Kenny. Just a thought. -Winbo P.S. Hi, I'm new.

>* A simple plan is hatched to put the hidden immunity idol into play, resulting in a shocking turn of events at Tribal Council.I think the only two capable of hatching a plan are Kenny and Bob, either or both. I don't think Sugar would do anything to save Bob; she isn't on Bob's side. The way I see the "loyalties" that are left: Kenny - Crystal and anyone he can manipulate, wants Bob and Matty out as threats, but will do whatever is necessary to make it through, including align with either. Crystal - Kenny & Sugar, wants Matty out worst way. (per deleted scene shown at Jeff's blog) Matty - Sugar and Susie, he really likes Susie. (per last week's deleted scene) has wanted Bob out but should be gunning for Kenny now. Sugar - Matty and Crystal, (Susie via Matty), wants Bob out & is on to Kenny. Susie - oh, who cares, as long as it's not me. Matty seems to like her the most. Bob - no allies left, can only win immunity or play a trick. 6 is a bad number for lone survivor to play swing vote card, but I think he is NOT going to get in with the Matty/Sugar/Susie triad, so placating Kenny and Crystal is his hope. Bob's best hope may be to focus Kenny on what happens when Bob leaves. Matty, Sugar, Susie will have the idol plus the majority to oust Crystal and Kenny and they will, so Kenny MUST make a move at F6 or he's toast and he could well be TOAST at F6. Bob and Kenny should hatch a plan to at least make Sugar play the idol. The only way is to scare her. This is hard to do with the numbers left, as there's not even a majority of votes to boot Sugar, unless Kenny can persuade Susie to join in the plan. Perhaps Sugar would play it in case of a tie vote and revote? Another possibility is to scare Sugar that Matty is getting voted out and she needs to loan it to him, but again, Matty has two good friends and there are six left. If Bob doesn't have immunity, the obvious thing for Matty/Sugar/Susie to do is sell the Fang 5 line of goods, vote off Bob and avoid a tie, but as I said, Kenny is next in line of fire unless he moves. I'm kind of stumped, but I wonder if they do figure out a way to scare Sugar that she's the target, and she plays it but there are instead three votes against Matty (Crystal, Kenny, Bob pull the Edgardo gambit), and somehow Kenny gets the other three to split their vote a la Cirie, perhaps convincing Susie to vote Sugar to flush the idol but that the bounce back vote is Bob (who doesn't have or is giving up immunity)? Alternately, Crystal is out of there, which would make me happy, but not sure how she would get booted in a flush out the idol scenario as I would think the alt target is Kenny or Bob.

I don't think Sugar likes Kenny. I'm not sure how she feels about Bob. Does she dislike him? She was chummy with him with respect to using the fake idol on Randy. Then she pissed him off by rubbing it in Randy's face at TC. Maybe she feels she "owes" Bob somehow. Maybe she has a "can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude, I don't know.I do think there was an interesting quote by one of them last night about Bob taking them down. Tis the season.

My take is that however Sugar feels about Bob as a person, she is not aligned with him, and affirmed more than once that she is on board with the Fang 5 until all Kota/Onions are gone. I think she used him to humiliate Randy. She didn't show him her idol or offer to work with him. With Matty gunning for Bob, I do not think Sugar is going to step out of line to befriend Bob. Also, we saw last night that Bob and Corinne remained friends, which would not be unnoticed by Sugar. We saw Sugar complain that Bob and Corinne were not in camp with the 5. Definitely working the us against them theme and Bob is not US. Also note that Bob went to Kenny with a plan. Assuming Bob is not dumb about dynamics, Bob understood that Kenny and Crystal were the two who were potentially available to flip. Bob has sometimes been close to Susie but didn't include her. To me that says there is a threesome that Bob knew he couldn't crack. I will grant that with Bob standing with Corinne who is hated by Sugar and I assume Susie, he knew that alone would shut him out there. But he could have dumped Corinne like he did Randy and did not. I seem to recall Corinne brought Bob into the Onion. Anyway, I think he feels if any group will take him it is Kenny/Crystal. Another thing to keep in mind is that after the second swap Bob was placed with Kenny/Crystal (and Susie) while Matty and Sugar went to Fang. During which time Bob showed the survival-challenged duo his stuff. He has helped Kenny catch fish and feel good about himself. They have had some time to bond.

The safest play was still for Corinne to play it if it were real. She'd have to be a very stupid player to not play it in that situation. I believe Ken would know she was not a stupid player.

"The Good Guys Should Win in the End" ~ Quote by Sugar as she was blindsided last night as well and wasn't a party to the decision to pit Matty against Corrine. She is going to begin to see Kenny's evil ways.* One castaway finds himself scrambling to secure an alliance, having attempted unsuccessfully to blindside one of his allies. Kenny goes to Bob and confronts him about lying to him about the fake idol. He is now "exposed" as the betrayer to the rest of his alliance ~ Susie, Sugar and Matty and I think that they will be out for his blood. This is most definately, Kenny's clue. * A stunning reward allows some castaways a rare glimpse of Gabon and it's most majestic inhabitants. Scenic Reward trip to the Falls, perhaps?
* A power hungry castaway uses guilt to gain control of an ally, but his pushy demands may land him in hot water. I'm thinking this is Kenny again and he's using the guilt Sugar feels about blindsiding Ace to keep her in check. Will it work? I say no. The only thing that will save Kenny this week is the Immunity Necklace that Bob will give to him after Bob wins immunity for the second week in a row.
* A simple plan is hatched to put the hidden immunity idol into play, resulting in a shocking turn of events at Tribal Council. Hmmm, this must be a plan from Sugar, Susie & Matty to boot out Kenny. I think the "shocking turn of events" occurs at Tribal Council when Bob takes off his Immunity Necklace and hands it to Kenny. Crystal will become the secondary target and be voted out. P.S. Thanks to Volcanic Glass over at Survivor Phoenix for enlarging the Final 5 pics. This has certainly helped me make my prediction this week! P.S.S. Also want to note that this season has been the BEST as far as surprises and editing leaving us Spoilers scratching our heads week after week! Woo and Hoo! Keep it up, SeeBS!

Jeff's blog teaser: Next week on...Survivor. A new agreement could completely change the game....if only you could trust these people to keep their word. Based on what previews we've seen I'd expect this to be Bob and Kenny. What would change the game? Right now it looks to me like Matty, Susie, and Sugar have a lock on F3 because I do think Matty has gotten close to Susie and given her a F3 agreement that we haven't seen, even though Kenny thinks he controls everyone. I don't think Sugar likes Susie as much as Matty, which is why he was telling her she needs Susie in last week's preview that didn't make the air. I think Sugar prefers Crystal, her Fang bond. Sugar and Susie were never on the same tribe until the merge. I think Sugar would have liked a Sugar/Matty/Crystal/Kenny F4, but she does see now that Kenny is dangerous. Also recall that Crystal and Susie aren't such friends. (read that somewhere I can't recall, in a boot interview?) Susie/Randy/Dan/Matty had allied against Kenny and Crystal in old Fang. So if Matty/Susie are tight vs Crystal/Kenny, that leaves the war for Sugar still on, except that we've seen her closer to Matty than Crystal ever since the Ace boot and the last swap. And Crystal was certainly up for booting Sugar at one time, so Matty has been her one constant friend. What could be called flipping the game IF ... Bob surviving without immunity Knocking out either Matty or Sugar a Kenny blindside I don't see a Crystal or Kenny boot as unlikely except in the case Bob is vulnerable. But as there is a big IF the agreement will be kept, either could go. I think Kenny is in that F5 photo though.

Jeff's blog teaser: Next week on...Survivor. A new agreement could completely change the game....if only you could trust these people to keep their word. In the preview, we saw Bob offering the II to Kenny if Bob wins IC. So Kenny makes an agreement to target someone else. Being the gamer that he is, Kenny tells his alliance about the agreement, and they think they're going to continue their Pagoning by blindsiding Bob. But when we get to TC, and Jeff asks Bob if he wants to give up the immunity necklace, Bob says, "Nope, I don't think I will." Corinne had been surprised when she realized Bob could lie, and Kenny learns that lesson right here. Jeff then tells them it's time to vote, and they're all scrambling. Given the paranoia theme from last TC, Sugar may decide to play her II just to make sure she's not the victim. This could spell Kenny's doom. After all, he's already put a target on his back by voting Matty last TC, and others may think he was lying to them about the agreement with Bob and decide to vote Kenny out.

LAST EDITED ON 12-06-08 AT 02:29 PM (EST)I still think this shot is dream teamers! I don't see Bob wearing a red speedo. No way, no time, no how. Also, that person looks to be tall but long bodied with shorter legs. Bob is tall and short bodied, long legged. The person also looks to be young and have muscle tone and broad shoulders, none of which applies to Bob. The person everyone is identifying as Sugar has on a dark outfit. I can't remember a shot of Sugar with a dark colored top. She has dark shorts, but no dark top. The person in front looks to me to have brown corn row braids down to her mid back. Crystal and Susie both have very dark hair. Also, just the way they're walking doesn't look to me like a real challenge shot. I don't know guys, I just don't buy it. Edited to add: plus, that series of pics shows the IC necklace at the end point I believe. If they're walking back towards the start point of the challenge, one of them would have the necklace on because they'd be done, right? I really really think this isn't them. -Cat

LAST EDITED ON 12-06-08 AT 04:04 PM (EST)Jiffy talks about the players in terms of their strategy in his blog this week, but nothing on Crystal, Matty, or Sugar's strategy. Last week he flat out said Corinne had no chance ... and it became clear why not. Here's the relevant section (I added the name headers for easier reading): BOB Okay, onto the strategy part of the game....Muy importante that Bob wins immunity, otherwise he is done. Gone. History. There is no hiding that Bob is a threat in the game, but the dude won't lose. Can't lose. Even something like tossing a ball 50 feet down a cliff he wins. Could this be his destiny? Or am I just playing with ya? SUSIE While we're at it, nobody and I mean nobody, is paying attention to Susie. Even I forget to talk about her. Is that by design? Am I trying to fool you? Susie is in this to win it and she is in a fantastic position at this point because she is out of the line of fire. Kenny and Crystal are gunning for Matty. Sugar hates Corinne. Bob is a physical and social threat. And that leaves Susie just hanging out by the fire talking about who knows what and avoiding the vote. Nicely done, Susie. KENNY Kenny the master manipulator is at it again. Spreading lies and making up stories like any good potential Survivor winner must do! Bravo Kenny. You are really playing this game and I love it. Side note: When I first met Kenny in casting I told him he could not win this game. Yes I am ready to admit I was wrong if he does. I will say it loud and I will say it at the live finale. I'm not proud. I think Sugar has got to make F3 at this point. Matty is in trouble, if Bob wins immunity, unless there's a big change, but there might be one. Crystal could be the victim of an idol bounce back. Perhaps this is the week Sugar decides Kenny and Crystal have to be broken up. Why Crystal and not Kenny? Dunno, but Sugar says she's a bully.

New Phoenix montage, clan of the clean clothesWe see the sarongs, they are the only red garments I know of ... doubtful Bob picked up on Corinne's bikini if by chance she left it behind. OTOH, there's a reward between now and the F5 that Bob goes on, who knows if he gets a clothing item. The F5 pic almost looks like a ritual is going on the way they are filing down. They are not in challenge compete mode on the way down. I'm guessing they end up finishing on the platform by Jiffy, but the action starts somewhere below. So if Bob, Kenny, Crystal get reward, I'm guessing Bob wins and takes Kenny and Crystal to try to assuage the guilt-tripping and firm up a new alliance. This would make the ones left at camp really nervous, especially Matty, as we see in the new preview he is freaking out. First his name written down by an ally, now the alliance is splintered along the same lines by a reward trip.

I know I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box, so maybe I'm just not getting it. I've been over to Phoenix and looked at the pictures posted. In one marked as F5, there's a photo of the remaining survivors at what they are calling Station 2. You can clearly see 5 survivors. They say there's one survivor out of focus, or not shown. They say it's the one in the blue lane. My question...if it's photos of the final 5, why are we looking for 1 more if all 5 are clearly shown? 5+1=6 as far as I know, so these would have to be of the F6 challenge. Am I making any sense?

Can anyone explain to me why they want to flush out the idol? Corinne said in her exit interview that the idol is only good til day 36. She went out at Day 33. Day 37, F5, Day 38, F4, Day 39, F3. So the next TC is the last one to play the idol anyhow. Which she basically said, that there was not much point in Kenny trying to flush it out last time, as it was about to expire. So, if this is the last TC it's good, wouldn't the idol holder play it regardless? Or give it to someone? I know that in other seasons the idol has been good until F4 and also F5, but maybe they decided that was too long. I reviewed the first exile and Jeff doesn't say how long the idol is good for, nor do we see Sugar read the scroll that goes with the idol, which would say how long the idol is good ... which is frustrating. Point of knowing whether it's expiring, is that a plan to put the idol into play doesn't necessarily have to scare Sugar. Who would not use the idol on its last night?

This is Kenny. I can't picture anyone else fitting in here. > * A >power hungry castaway uses guilt >to gain to control of >an ally, but his pushy >demands may land him in >hot water.
OKAY, I think this is Kenny too. I believe that this clue is basically shown to us in the preview. I think that Kenny is trying to guilt Bob into giving him immunity if he wins it because he got screwed. By doing this, he exposes himself as the third vote for Matty, and he also is depending on someone who has made 2 fake idols... I definitely wouldn't trust Bob!!
> * A >simple plan is hatched to >put the hidden immunity idol >into play, resulting in a >shocking turn of events at >Tribal Council.
NOW, can someone please explain to me why everyone is saying that some people want to flush out the idol? Is it just from this clue? I actually think that this clue isn't someone flushing out the idol, but it's actually a plan to use the idol to their advantage... bringing it in to play.
I think that while Bob, Crystal and Kenny are at the reward, the other three decide that they want to use the idol (on whoever is being targetted) and bump one of the others out of the game. I think we see Matty telling Sugar that he wants to be final three, and that plan works out. They use the idol, whoever they vote for leaves.

That seems right to me ... that's why I asked if flushing it out matters at this point. If not, the plan is hatched by the idol holder. But it's not so simple, because they have to know for sure who the real target will be. To state the obvious, the idol can be neutralized by the opponents if they don't vote for a person who has it. The "second highest vote" rule will then not come into play. The question for everyone I think is will Sugar give it to Matty? And how would they know? The votes are tricky this week because of the tie vote potential. And we have no idea who will win immunity. The smart thing might be for Bob, Kenny, Crystal to vote for Susie, who will most likely not have the idol. Then they have numbers and could focus on Matty. But I doubt they will. And voting for Susie could end up in a tie. Then what? Purple rock. Someone has to get four votes together or find a way to split the opposition by fooling them a la Cirie.

LAST EDITED ON 12-08-08 AT 03:12 PM (EST)> * A >simple plan is hatched to >put the hidden immunity idol >into play, resulting in a >shocking turn of events at >Tribal Council. The way the clue is written makes it sound as though the plan is from Crystal and Kenny. I think the simple plan that is hatched is that Sugar will plan to give Matty her idol when it's revealed that they are gunning for him. They will go to TC, Bob, Crystal, Kenny will all vote for Matty. Sugar will give Matty her idol and he will play it. Then Susie, Sugar and Matty will target Crystal. Bob will give the IN or the fake II to Kenny, and he will play it, but it won't matter. Crystal is the boot. ...maybe! ETA: Crystal and Kenny are too chicken to flush out the idol, and will not even consider it. PS. OFG: I think that would be a wonderful choice for Kenny/Crystal/Bob, to target Susie, but you know that they will never even consider that!

LAST EDITED ON 12-08-08 AT 06:17 PM (EST)I agree with BR in that if Sugar gives the idol to anyone, she gives it to Matty. She's wearing it to TC for a reason, and I think it's to let Kenny & Crystal know they better be careful. I think the simple plan is from Sugar & Matty. If it were Kenny & Crystal plotting the clue might say forcing the idol into play, not 'putting' it. We can be fairly certain Bob wins the IN, the big question is, does he follow through on his promise to give it to Kenny? Does Sugar follow through on her promise to give her idol to Matty? I think since the title quote comes from Sugar, that she indeed does give it to Matty. I think Bob is too smart to give his necklace to Kenny, but he'd want to be sure either Kenny or Crystal goes so they can't retaliate. I'm betting Bob talks to Sugar to see who's going to be targeted, and makes sure it's Kenny or Crystal, and promises Sugar he won't give Kenny the necklace. At this point I've talked myself into a Kenny boot. (always subject to change 25 times before Thursday night though ) -Cat

LAST EDITED ON 12-08-08 AT 08:22 PM (EST)HIya Cat, thrilled to see you! Long time, no see, welcome back and hope that you stay back. We could use your 2 cents around here! You pose some interesting questions... We can be fairly certain Bob wins the IN, the big question is, does he follow through on his promise to give it to Kenny? Well, we know in the walk to TC, we see Sugar, wearing her HII, then Susie, then Kenny, then Matty, then Crystal. Kenny and Crystal are sporting their new clothes, dressing like the Gabonians?!? Bob must be sporting the new clothing along with the IN. Will he give the IN to Kenny, OR will he give him his fake IN? Food for thought... Does Sugar follow through on her promise to give her idol to Matty? Well, I don't think that Sugar ever promised to give her idol to Matty. But, remember when Matty told Sugar that Ace never was gunning for her and that he had her back the whole time...and she surmised that Kenny had duped her. They promised to watch each others back. The sun was photographed right before that scene, and it appeared as the star of David. I think it was meant to be a highlighted scene that would come into play later. Well, I think it is coming into play with this upcoming episode. Sugar and Matty will really get a chance to talk when Kenny, Bob, and Crystal go off on reward. Sugar notes in the promo..."Sugar (talking to Matty): You're not gonna go." She is filling him in, and they "hatch the simple plan to USE and play her idol". If they can manage to boot one of Bob/Kenny/Crystal they can then control the game...oh yeah, the idol is coming out this week, imo. ETA: The press release clue: After using guilt to gain control of an ally, a pushy castaway may land in hot water when the hidden immunity idol is put into play, resulting in a shocking turn of events at Tribal Council. So, if this is to be believed, the HII is used and it results in a shocking turn...a surprising boot. So, however Sugar/Matty/Susie target will go home?

Hey FP!I never left, I just haven't posted in ages, lol. I think it's very telling that Sugar is the only one not bringing her bag to TC. She's wearing her idol openly, and not bringing her stuff, so she's making a very loud statement to the others that she's not going anywhere. That has to be part of the plan. Dupe Kenny & Crystal (maybe Bob, maybe not) into thinking she's playing the idol herself, so there is no way they vote for her. Then after the votes, give it off to Matty and shock the crap out of Kenny & Crystal (and possibly Bob). (I think there's also a chance she gives it to Bob if he gives the IN to Kenny, but that's another line of thought) I do think the preview of Sugar telling Matty that he's not going anywhere is telling, because Sugar is crying in that shot. She's not faking. Letting everyone think you're playing the idol yourself, and then handing if off after the votes is a very simple plan, and should be a very effective one. I'm still leaning towards a Kenny boot, although booting Crystal the bully may happen instead. -Cat

Jeff definitely asks if the person wants to give IN before the votes. I don't know...I think if bob actually gives Kenny the IN they will vote bob out. If not, it will be Kenny. I think they (matty/sugar/susie) will be gunning for Kenny or Bob. They are bigger threats than crystal who hasn't won anything immunity-wise

When does Jeff usually say, Player, if you would like to give the IN away or keep it for yourself?I think he asks about the IN prior to the vote. He asks about the HII after the vote. Bob would be foolish to give Kenny the IN necklace before the vote, he'd be gone unless he trusts a plan that had been made and with Jeff talking about trust last week it would make me wonder if this week a trust issue is for Bob to decide. (assuming of course that it's Bob winning immunity, I'm not trusting vidcaps much this season, once burnt etc.) If it's Sugar passing her HII well how much trust does she have that having her pass the necklace isn't a blindside in the making. If she has big discussions with everyone and they think she's giving it to someone well, she could go on a blindside. If she only discusses it with the one she's giving it to or makes a spur of the minute decision it could work to bounce someone.

LAST EDITED ON 12-11-08 AT 09:18 AM (EST)LAST EDITED ON 12-11-08 AT 09:14 AM (EST) Hello All - it's been along time since I posted here. I have a thought on the shocking turn of events.... > * A simple plan is hatched to >put the hidden immunity idol >into play, resulting in a >shocking turn of events at >Tribal Council. A shocking turn of events would not only be Sugar wearing the HII and giving it Matty at tribal. BUT Kenny, suspecting something like this, will make sure that both Sugar AND Matty receive votes. The shocking turn of events would be Sugar getting voted out. She would truly be shocked! How funny that would be after all of her dramatic gloating during the last couple of Tribals. Kenny convinces everyone to vote for Matty. Kenny votes Sugar. Kenny "mentions" to Sugar that everyone is gunning for Matty. She gives the HII to Matty and Bye-Bye Sugar. Kenny has done this kind of planning in past tribals. That's why he made sure that both Matty and Corrine received votes at the last tribal. Kenny would definitely have Corrine's support if he was responsible for the ouster of Sugar.... Edited to add: I didn't account for Sugar's vote. Would she vote Kenny? I think so. We would have a tie between Kenny and Sugar. Now that would be a shock!

After reading through many posts on these threads, I suddenly saw this episode title again and wondered if it could be taken a different way: The Good Guys Should Win in the End Who really are the "Good Guys" (literally)? Matty and Bob. Is there a scenario where they could be the final 2? (Even though I realize this is the title for the penultimate episode, not the finale) It seems unlikely but who knows? The producers have played with our heads before.
