"TAR6 Not So Move of the Week: Episode 3"

Well, here we are again. Time for another Not So Move of the Week. Before you start voting, let me just say that instead of the usual five choices you had, there will be four because this episode didn't have too many mistakes. With that, here are the choices:

1. Gus/Hera arrive in Stockholm and look for the Ice Bar. However, they can't find the place. They are the last team to the Ice Bar.

2. Freddy/Kendra arrive at the Ice Bar in 3rd place, but have a lot of trouble hitting the target. They finally do but are in last place.

3. Lori/Bolo and Don/Mary Jean choose the Count It detour, but they both cannot get the right number. After several tries, they finally switch to Build It. They are the last two teams to finish the detour.

4. Lena/Kristy arrive at the roadblock and decide to let Lena do it. Unfortunately, she cannot find the clue. She spends over 8 hours searching. Phil finally comes out and tells them they're eliminated.

L&B and D&MJ did not err by screwing up so many times, or by finally switching, but by choosing this detour in the first place. They've done the counting thing a few times, and it's always a trap - ANYTHING is preferable to getting an exact count of over 2000 items.

#2 and #4 were just bad luck. Honorable mention to #1, but they made up for it along the way.

I guess #3. 2 and 4 were just bad luck and don't count in my book, and in the SEASON OF MASSIVE BUNCHING, getting lost doesn't matter much.

#3 - While Lena probably stepped on 6 clues as she was unrolling the haybales, that wasn't a task where she had much choice - just needed better eyes! To count or to build? As soon as I saw those bins, the first comment out of my mouth whould be "Where's the desk to build?" Counting sounds easy but as Bolo himself said, "I've only had 6 hours sleep over the last 4 days." That may be an exaggeration but you can't think straight on lack of sleep. I've built IKEA desks for both my kids at college and they aren't that difficult. Build, Bolo, build!

I vote #4. Yeah, she had bad luck but she also had bad technique and her failure to find the clue directly resulted in the boot.

Agree with Draco on the bunching thing. Sometimes teams deserve to be left in the dust.

My DH is a CPA who has done his share of inventory counts back when he was auditing. He would have done the count while I sat in a corner with my hands over my mouth so I didn't distract him. I'm amazed it took people so long to figure out they could use the entire floor to make piles of 10 or 25 or whatever! However, I am so entertained every time the wrestlers try to think! I am so hoping for more mental challenges.

Luck or bad luck....when you roll out over 100 bales of hay and don't see one clue of the several she probably pasted by…..I give her a ton of credit for not quitting unlike the Pizza Boys but she should have been able to find a club in those 100 bales.

I am so sad! I really like these two. I thought we were finally going to see a season of girl power.

# 3 was a really, really close second. I mean, think about it. I would have taken one look at those bins and high-tailed it to the building centre.

LAST EDITED ON 12-01-04 AT 04:17 PM (EST)

270 hay bales, 20 clues, 8 taken by the other teams, Lena unrolled 100, that leaves 159 other hay bales that other teams unrolled (if there really were only 3 left). Whats to say that it wasn't the other teams that wasted clues by not finding them during their search, leaving Lena with fruitless searching? Maybe she DID overlook clues, I guess we won't know. But all in all it came down to luck and because it was a roadblock, it wasn't like they could skip it and do something else or that it was a bad decision.

#3 was just a bad choice and when Don tried to cheat by just saying numbers instead of recounting, and also tried to make the IKEA lady feel bad for him because he was 40 years older than the competition, it turned my stomach. Lori and Bolo were also stupid, how did either of those clowns think they could cooperate enough to patiently count over 2000 items, especially with the counting method 66, 68, 80, 82?

I know they weren't eliminated, either team, but it was only luck that they weren't, this was the dumbest move of the show IMO.

If it weren't for some extreamly bad luck from Lena/Kristy, this would have eliminated one of these teams. After getting it wrong a few times, they should have switched tasks then, rather than wasting more and more time.

Those two couples are so lucky they were not the last two in the race. I can not believe how terrible they were at counting. They would still be counting today if they didn't switch to the desk building.

14. "not racing for first?"
This wasn't on the list, but what do y'all think of the wild sprint to the finish for first place? It looked like Hayden/Aaron madly out-walked Kris/Jon to the welcome mat and took home a trip as a result. I remember one other time two teams stepping on the mat simultaneously. If they were being buddy-buddy with each other, they could have at least done that. Phil even commented on Kris/Jon waiting patiently. I know the time doesn't make a difference, but I was disappointed not to see either competitiveness or cooperation between these teams.

15. "RE: not racing for first?"
Excellent point, I had noticed that as well and was like WTF???? J/K seemed like they just let H/A have it. The way they showed them competing on the tandem bikes earlier in the episode and the sideways glance that Aaron gave to Jon as he passed him showed me that these teams do have competitiveness in them, so I was befuddled by the behavior exhibited at the end.

I just saw on the video interviews on the cbs website that the two teams did rock/paper/scissors to decide who stepped on first.

Since this involved a prize over and above simple placement, the Producers prolly wouldn't let them step on the mat together, as has been done in non-first place finishes.

I wish they would show some of these things on air however --- there are some people out there who don't check web sites! (Hard to believe as it is!)

After getting the counting wrong a few times and having to START OVER FROM THE BEGINNING each time, they should have realized that the furniture building wouldn't be so bad. Make a mistake and they just had to try another bolt or shelf or something. If they had switched tasks earlier, they could have moved on sooner.
