"AI Wildcards"
Does anyone know what's with all the last second rule changes? Why are people that the judges didn't even see fit to make it to the final 32 in the wildcard round? I thought there were at least a couple of others in the final 32 that deserved spots....and doesn't this give the people that actually made it to the second round a huge advantage? And why have they suddenly decided on four wildcards instead of two? And aren't wildcards supposed to be small in number? Picking 1/3 of the final contestants from this round doesn't really make it a "Wildcard" round anymore! What is up with the manipulation this time around - it's like Fox is just asking for an official inquiry into the rules and overall fairness of the show.

1. "RE: AI Wildcards"
Seems to me the judges really want blond Kimberly (can't remember last name) in the finals. It would just be too obvious if the viewers picked someone else in the wild card and the judges picked Kimberly over Clay, who clearly has a far superior voice.

2. "Ratings and sweeps"
I'll bet Fox encouraged them to find a way to extend the series, so that they can boost their ratings. With Joe Millionaire done, AI is Fox's biggest ratings grabber. And AI has been a strong lead-in for 24.

Two more wildcards means more shows, which means more viewers for Fox.

Who voted for me at the Survivor Ep 2 TC???

I am laughing so hard at what you said, Kokoro!! Ms. Bebo is so right, its all about the ratings (e.g., Shmoe Millionaire).

On top of that, I'm sure the contestants had to sign away all their legal rights to be on AI in the first place so they won't be complaining too loudly.

I'm hoping the big losers in this doesn't turn out to be the kids. By the end of American Idol 1, the kids were clearly exhausted. You could hear the strain in all their voices, especially Kelly's. (Let's not forget Christina collapsed from exhaustion too) If Nasheka/Chip happen to get a wildcard spot, you # of weeks they'll have to consecutively perform is going to be a lot. I'm not overly fond of adding another week--at least let's have a week off at the midway point and give these kids a break. (Just throw in another bad audition special if you have to)

I wonder if this has anything to do with the possibility of Joshua going to war. They might be worried that they won't have enough contestants to make it to the end of the contract if his unit is activated.

Just wanted to report that Clay Aiken will be singing an Elton John song tonight. There was an interview in the Raleigh News & Observer this morning.

Yay. He's my favorite in the wildcard show and I bet he'd sound lovely singing an EJ song. He'd sound lovely singing the theme to Dora the Explorer though.

8. "RE: AI Wildcards"
Somewhere they talked about how only 9 contestants were in the wildcard slots and that their is room for a 10th. They were hinting it may be Frenchie. It was a tv entertainment show, so who knows if it is true, we will find out tonight.
