Please keep all discussion on this thread until -- oh, who am I kidding? Please consider watching something else. That means you too, West Coast. Stay on another channel until the episode finishes airing. This would be a great time to discover the slightly guilty semi-pleasure that is Charm School. They're selling perfume tonight. Don't forget to stay with VH1 afterwards so you can see the I Love New York 2 casting special, consisting of people who are actually too insane to get on this show. Well, we knew they had to end up somewhere -- -- and the mention of insanity brings us to the reason you shouldn't watch. Okay, other than 'it's been a really lousy season with only one small bright spot and he can't possibly win the game.' The reason you shouldn't watch is named Lisi. Also Rocky. Sometimes both. Remember them? I know you've been trying really hard to forget, but they've been sitting on the jury for a good long time now, it's finale night, and that means eeny meany chili beanie, the morons are about to speak. Can you imagine the questions those two are going to throw out? You don't have to. Here's a couple of sample first drafts. Rocky: 'I'm gonna make this simple. Which one of you thinks I can take you in a fight? Good. I'm voting you the money. Meet you in the back alley after the Reunion so I can take it back. It's my prize, ya wimps! Ain't no stupid rules gonna keep me from getting what's mine!' Lisi: 'So here I am, standing in front of the Final Six. Or Two. Or one of those numbers in between. Numbers aren't important, which is why I'm not going to write anyone's name down. That's right: I'm not casting a ballot, mostly because I don't know what 'casting' or 'ballot' means, but partially because if I help someone win, they'll have money to count and like I said, numbers aren't important, so I can't do that to someone. I did say that, right? As the smartest person to ever play this game, I can't be bothered using my immense brainpower to keep track of something as simple as my own words. So to repeat: I abstain, because I don't know what that means either. I'd like to thank the Academy...' Get the picture? It's been a mostly-lousy season with completely rotten twists, and now we have to listen to this? Isn't it time to start considering other options? There's some interesting women waiting to meet you a few channels over. Their names are Larissa, Shay, Becky, Saaphyri, Brooke, Schatar, Courtney, Leilene, and Darra. They only have eyes for you. Plus perfume. Lots and lots of perfume. And not a single one of them was cast by Mark Burnett. That, right there, should be all you need to know. But just in case it still hasn't sunk in, did I mention Cassandra will be speaking this evening? 'Mmm-hmmm. Uh-huh. Mmm-hmmm. Uh-mmm-huh -- I like to mix it up!' Save yourselves. Well, save yourselves unless you're really, really into self-torture -- in which case, get ready for the greatest night of your life. But if that doesn't apply to you... See you at eight. Perverts.

Dreamz can argue that he was just playing the game, but I don't think he's even going to be that eloquent -- and this isn't a group that can discard personal feelings to respect play.}

Earl's now at the point where he's ready to backstab anyone he can reach. Or just eat them. A little tie-in to the season's theme? The only tie-in to the season's theme? Do we have a theme? I lost track about fifteen couches ago.
What a very long, very pointless challenge. What did we learn? We learned the sound effects department finally got on their game with the pinball-rebound tunes ringing out at each collision. We reaffirmed the fact that the game finally found someone more fundamentally useless than Scout -- mmm-hmmm? And Yau won, solidifying his status as the most unlikely Challenge Whore ever, delaying everyone's chance to dump for a day, and giving Dreamz the most frustrating thing in his personal universe: a promise he can't break. Yet.
Come to think of it, the miracle of the day was that Dreamz didn't drop that bridge on top of Boo's head.

Dreamz should have known that already. He was in a Catch-22. The only chance he had was to go by his word, because his word is worth a heck of a lot more in life than a lost million. There was NO circumstance under which he'd win that million, after back-stabbing Yao, even if he'd offered to give the truck back.
It actually made me really sad to see him fall fallow to the notion that he was "playing the game" by betraying that particular promise.
Heck, he wasn't thinking ahead. If he'd kept the promise, I bet you a million dollars that Oprah would have given him one. He would have left the game with his honor intact and also have earned the respect of everyone for standing by his word. Sometimes it's NOT just a game, Dreamz.
Over all, glad that Earl won. But for Yao, he was definitely most deserving. Count me among those SHOCKED that Dreamz backed down on his promise. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb. Among the dumbest moves I've ever seen somebody make, and the kind of move that could scar somebody for life. "If only" will plague Dreamz for the rest of his life. He lost his integrity and his chance for any after "game" all in one shot.

Except that at this point, Dreamz has no chance of winning if he's sitting in the Final Three either. He can make all the speeches he likes about having no regrets and just having done the same backstabbing everyone else did, but -- he's not getting the votes. Do the math, realize you're not winning and should you keep your word, the various talk shows will probably give you a quarter-million in consolation prizes anyway, then pass over the necklace.

There was a tie at a final four tribal council in oh, around season 5, where they made the players pick a rock out of a bag to decide who would go -- in that particular scenario, Paschal, who wasn't even a contender to be voted out, ended up leaving. Of the three, Earl deserved to win. Did he really deserve the win begin with? NO! Everyone realizes that Yau played the game well and deserved it, unfortunately, he was betrayed and lied to by a homeless person who clean windshields for a living. Regardless, I'll bet that Dreamz doesn't realize (or won't until his letter from the IRS arrives at his P.O. box), that he'll need to pay taxes on the truck's retail cash value. That is unless, he takes the money from the dealer. In that case, he'll still owe a bunch of money to the Fed and State, in addition to that owed on the money he receives for being in the F4 (isn't it $50k?).
Anyway, I wouldn't look to see his 15 minutes of fame last any longer, or him going on the lecture circuit or book-writing tour. He'll be homeless again soon. I really didn't believe that I could dislike anyone more than Johnny "Fairplay" (he overrode Susan), until Dreamz came along.
Let's hope the next season is better!

I don't hate Dreamz at all. And of the final three, the right person won. Would it have been a better final three if Dreamz had stuck to his final four promise? Yes. Am I going to sound patronizing in the following comment? Yes. Dreamz got sucked into the notion of winning a million, and he, being homeless and having come from nothing, convinced himself that it was "just a game," and acted in a short-sighted notion of what action would serve him well. I actually feel sorry for the guy. He was likeable and did well in the game. If he had stuck by his word to Yao, Yao would have won and Dreamz would have walked out smelling like roses. Dreamz didn't, making him a fallible human just like the rest of us. Sad for him and for t.v. ratings (Oprah would have had a great show giving him the million he'd given up if only he'd stuck by his word).
Meanwhile, Earl won, and he was worthy. Second to Yao, he was the one I wanted to see win from early on. I respect him and his play.

Reunion show - same old same old. Probst tries to find out if Dreamz was a man with a plan or was flying by the seat of his pants.. Dreamz says a bunch of stuff that doesn't really make much sense. (as usual)
Then Cassandra says Dreamz actually would discuss strategy with her, but then Cassandras idea of strategy is going to be hard to define as well. Cassandra : strategy is as Dreamz : clarity
Yau-Man is gracious and blames himself for trusting Dreamz and being stubborn about this trust (not wanting to have to admit he made a mistake about Dreamz). Yau thinks that Dreamz really has some smarts but is mentally disorganized. Generally, Yau is nice about the whole thing, even when it's revealed if Yau was in the final three, he would have won.
Rocky blathers on about Anthony. Anthony responds pretty much the same as the show, throwing up his hands at the situation. (I can't help my nerdlove for Anthony-- )
Rita reveals is it chilly in the studio and talks but the cleavage gets all the attention anyway.
Jeff - brak brak brak something about the next Survivor and who cares?

Hi, i am a long time lurker since Survivor Amazon but never really posted as i am from australia and do not have access to the show at the same time as the US. We are usually delayed by several days or as with this season, it isnt even showing yet (not sure if it will be shown).
Anyway,i am a huge fan so i depend on this thread, the CBS site, survivor live to get my weekly Survivor Fix.
I just wanted to post that for the first time I am really upset with the results. Not because of Earl being the winner but nothing in all that I have seen or read indicated that he was even in the game. Everything that was written or shown was how Yau-Man was the one strategizing, how the others were either doing things that cost them the game etc. All I heard/saw about Earl was the king of the mountain, smiling sagely etc. I dont believe i even remember anyone of you (people in the forum) mention Earl in a "strategizing" or "leading" situation. Last year's YUL and OZZY was shown more actively in the game.
Maybe he had more impact to you guys who sees the show BUT it looks like this is a winner who wasnt "Actively" being a winner, just "Looked" to be a good winner. I would rather have had DREAMZ be the winner because he at least was Active.
BTW, thanks to all of you. I really enjoy this forum.

Earl was completely in it. He and Yau were planning side by side, but I think everyone loved Yau more that's why they didn't mention Earl. Yau and Earl would make plans, but it was Earl who gathered the people and discussed their moves. Yau was smart and didn't really say too much. He didn't show how much he was involved in the decision making with Earl. I admire Yau that old man was a fierce physical competitor. I wish we could get a 30 year old Yau on the show, he would kick azz.
I'm glad Earl won, but I would like to see one show where the top two people go head to head for the bux.

The thing about Earl's game was, he set himself up so well in alliances with people, virtually from the very beginning, that it worked out that he barely had to do anything to make it to the end. But obviously he was exerting quiet control over all those relationships and over the tribal council votes throughout the game. Yau's relationships were more tenuous in that he was connected to others mostly through Earl, which didn't serve Yau well as the game came to a close.
So yes it did seem that Yau and Dreamz were doing more stuff but Earl was really running the show from beginning to end.

Although Earl was the leader but never received a vote post merge without winning immunity...very Tina like in his play!
Although the F4 reminded me more of S4 and the only difference was S4 was a F2

First let me say how much I love this board. Even the different opinions are based on sound judgements. I made the mistake of reviewing messages left on CBS.com's message board and people were taking what Dreamz did and making it racial. So I came here and read comments from both views that make sense and all have merit (imho).
Anyway, does anyone know if there was a second place prize since Earl took all the votes?

There is money awarded for every position of finish, in descending amounts. Traditionally second place has been given $100,000; third place would receive less (something like $85,000). Theoretically Dre and Cassandra tied for second place and would both get the second place amount.
