"Finish Line Question"
Question: My memory is very fuzzy on previous teams' hometowns, but has the finish line for any race ever been in the hometown of a team in that particular race? It seems to me that if, say, Marshall & Lance had been a final 3 team, they would have been at a distinct advantage driving from Fort Worth to Dallas, since I'm sure they've done it many times. They could know the back ways and ins and outs of getting through traffic.

Hell, I can think of about 20 ways to get from the Stockyards to the finish line and avoid *most* of the traffic right off the top of my head.

Actually, when I heard they were finishing in Texas, I thought Colin and Christie were dead. The hometown team always comes in second.

In TAR 1, Frank and Margerita were from the fnishing city of NYC and knew the area in Queens where they finished very well. Frank showed the taxi driver the "fastest" way to go. Rob and Brennan, from LA, relied on their taxi driver. They ended up taking different routes, and R & B won.

In TAR 2, Will had lived in San Francisco and knew his way around. Chris and Alex followed in their cabs, Will tried to decoy them to no avail, and of course C & A, although their cab arrived second were close enough to take a foot race to the finish.

Of course, C & C are from Corpus, not from Dallas, but they likely knew Dallas pretty well.

It's a 9 hour drive from Dallas to Corpus, so I don't know how often they would really get up here. I would have thought Brandon and Nicole might have had a better chance at knowing their way around Dallas, since Houston is a little closer, but both teams are based far enough away I didn't feel either had an advantage going in to Dallas.

I've made both these drives in the past year. Neither one is fun.

In most cases, I would expect a taxi driver to be very familiar with altrnate or faster routes since they spend so much times on the streets. So maybe being from the city would not be that much of an advantage,
