"Survivor Phoenix Updates"
This season it seems as if Volcanic Glass at Survivor Phoenix has an inside track. We have posted her updates throughout another thread, here, here. I thought we could run a thread for Survivor Phoenix Updates:

Here are her latest riddles, feel free to figure them out!:

Is that one or two quitters?

In short, two. While Mellisa never officially entered the game, some purists still count her absence from the game as quitting, since it affected the initial game play.

The second quitter should garner much more sympathy from the fans, since that departure is dictated by the elements. This player has a hard time adjusting to the environment and will leave the game in between two Tribal Councils.
Hint: a true fan of the show, this player applied for Cook Islands as well as Fiji.

So, the second quitter quits due to the environment...wasn't Gary picked as an alternate for Cook Islands? I could see him quitting, perhaps?

What's that, no double boot?

That's right. As previously noted, we misinterpreted some information which was originally sent to us. In the past, a winning tribe has only lost a player in a double boot scenario. This season, a tribe will lose a player after winning a challenge when faced with an ethical dilemma: switch camps or lose a player.
Hint: a tribe already up by three players would not readily give up its perceived advantage.
This one is a tough one. It says that the ONLY time a winning tribe has lost a player previously was when there was a double boot. BUT, we know that the winning tribe will lose a player, and not by the double boot. Could this be when the quitter quits(they choose to go to the other camp, which leads to the quitter quitting), thus they won the challenge but still lose a player. ???

Tribal Switch

When the players won't take matters into their own hands to switch things up, producers will do it for them. With six players gone, it's time to mix it up and get some Moto players to experience the hard life. The last player standing after the pick'em will go to Exile Island, much as Sylvia did in the initial episode.
Hint: one woman and five men switch tribes; the exiled player is in the minority.

So, there will be a tribal switch around ep 7. If "one woman and five men switch tribes; the exiled player is in the minority, therefore the exiled player must be female.

Location! Location! Location! Strength will have no power over the hex of the Ravu camp. The same tribe has to face Tribal Council, but this boot will be a first: a man is finally voted out of the game. After the tribal switch in episode 7, the new Ravu Tribe will lose and go to TC. I think it's logical to ASSume that the majority on the new Ravu tribe will be from the old Moto tribe, so they have to endure the hard life, so I'd predict that the poor old Ravu's that are still at Ravu will be booted. Since we know that it's a male I would venture a guess at the boot for episode 7 will be either Anthony, Mookie, or James.

*THANKS VG, for the riddles!

(alphabetically listed last two standing from Moto)
---
Boo
(7th from Moto)
---
Alex
Lisi
Stacy
(alphabetically 4, 5, and 6 from Moto)
---
Edgardo
(third to leave from Moto)
---
Liliana
Gary
(first two to leave from Moto, Gary likely quitter)

RAVU
Earl
Yau-Man
(alphabetically last two standing from Ravu)
---
James
Michelle
Mookie
---
Anthony
---
Rita
---
Sylvia
---
Erica
---
Jessica

The re-ordering likely implies (given "leaves early" info):
1st boot: Jessica
2nd boot: Erica
3rd boot: Sylvia

The next three to leave the game would be in no particular order:
Rita, Gary, Liliana
(Note, new spoiler at sucks that Lili is 4th boot (The4Kingdoms)
http://p085.ezboard.com/fsurvivorsucksfrm2.showMessage?topicID=19387.topic
So, maybe after 3 boots, Gary quits, Liliana 4th boot, Rita 5th boot?

"When does +1=-2" listed for Gary and Liliana. "+1" win another challenge? "-2" lose 2 players in one ep (a quitter and giving up another to stay at luxury camp)?

IF Gary is the quitter, then after six players are gone, there is the tribal switch and the first man (from NU-Ravu) is voted out. Note, Gary quit so he was not voted out. So, who is the seventh player out and the last non-jury boot? Anthony or Edgardo? And all the others make the jury.

Let's look at the pre-tribal-switch situation:

MOTO: Cassandra, Dre, Boo, Alex, Lisi, Stacy, Edgardo
RAVU: Earl, Yau-Man, James, Michelle, Mookie, Anthony

According to VG, 5 man and 1 woman switch. So, only one of Cassandra, Lisi, Stacy, Michelle switch.

2 or 3 out of (Dre, Boo, Alex, Edgardo) switch
2 or 3 out of (Earl, Yau-Man, James, Mookie, Anthony) switch

PURE SPEC: the listing + "late in game" tip seem to indicate a final 4 of Cassandra, Dre, Earl, Yau-Man. IF the end-game players team up after the switch, Earl, Yau-Man, and Michelle ("learns to make fire from Yau-Man", "teams up with black dude" (micknrc)) could be likely switch candidates.

LAST EDITED ON 02-06-07 AT 11:44 AM (EST)

This 19 player format messed me up... (I'm too used to having equal numbers on both tribes at the start...)

For Motu to be UP by three players, likely means that Motu would have 9 (still intact), while Ravu is down to 6. Ravu being down to 6, means Jessica, Sylvia, Erica, and Rita are all gone, before Gary and Liliana leave. So, The4Kingdom's spoiler of Liliana as 4th boot contradicts VG's riddle of Motu being up by three players...

Sorry to reply to myself - now it's easier for you to follow my flawed logic...

Definately, these both cannot be right??? A kink in the armor, something to chew on...Remember if Sylvia is the tribe splitter, and the first one exiled, she will come back to the losing tribe. So Ravu will start with 10, while Moto will start with 9. If Gary and Liliana are both out by episode 4, Moto can not possibly be up by 3.

As I take it, being "up by three" just means that Ravu has had to go to TC three times to vote a member out, and Moto hasn't gone once. I wouldn't worry about crunching the numbers exactly.

ETA: I was assuming Sylvia would join Ravu after the first tribal council (i.e. she'd be immune at TC), though that isn't quite clear.

Definately looks like it's pre-swap to me(they are still in green, their original Moto color). Boo definately is seen in vidcaps with a long sleeved blue top.

8. "RE: Survivor Phoenix Updates"
This season, a tribe will lose a player after winning a challenge when faced with an ethical dilemma: switch camps or lose a player.
Hint: a tribe already up by three players would not readily give up its perceived advantage.

Well, which is the "perceived advantage" -- having three extra players, or staying in the well-appointed camp so you can keep your strength up? This has to refer to Motu, since Ravu would gladly switch camps to keep all its members. So if Motu decides not to switch camps, how will it be determined who leaves?

9. "RE: Survivor Phoenix Updates"
I'm leaning "perceived advantage" is better camp.
Having the numbers, I think, is a real advantage.

This interpretation would match the next riddle:
"When the players won't take matters into their own hands to switch things up, producers will do it for them. With six players gone, it's time to mix it up and get some Moto players to experience the hard life."

Motu did not switch to the other camp. So, now the producers will make sure some will end up at Motu.

So the "switch-camps-or-lose-a-member" challenge apparently happens in Ep 4. Theoretically it *could* be where Gary quits -- since we're assuming it's Gary who quits -- he's on Motu and isn't handling the environment well and they have to get rid of someone even though they are winning. VG does note that the quitter leaves between two tribal councils.

SURVIVOR PHOENIX
February 13, 2007

Survivor Fiji is barely underway, and already the specter of March Madness looms over Survivor fans. We have heard that Survivor Fiji has been scheduled to go black for a week following Episode 5. The show should return on Wednesday, March 21 when the next big twist of the game is unveiled: the tribal switch.

For new information on potential Survivor Fiji spoilers, please click Read more...

The Tribal Switch

As we noted previously, a tribal switch takes place in Episode 6. Two Erstwhile non-tribe members start the alternating tribe pick'em. Once the players are split up, the remaining player will be sent to Exile Island, while players draw lots to determine which camp each tribe will get. We don't want to spoil all the fun, but savvy sleuths should be able to figure out most of the switch from the following clues. We were told that the tribe pickers will end up switching tribes. All the women, except for the exiled Lisi, end up on the same tribe. In total, one woman and five men switch tribes.

Lisi will join the losing tribe Ravu, after it votes off Anthony at the next Tribal Council. For those keeping track, since Gary quit, Anthony is indeed the first man to be voted out of Survivor Fiji.

When's the Merge?

From what we have been told, Ravu can truly be certified as the second coming of Ulong. It is due only to the tribal switch that former Ravu players will advance further into the game than the last standing member of Ulong did during their season. Ravu loses all three Immunity challenges following the tribal switch. Relief, in the form of the merge, will come at long last after the first two members of the Jury are seated.

And the Jury Begins...

# Last one hired, first one fired.
# Drama doused.

Hidden Idols

On a happy note, producers have corrected the grievous oversight from last season which guaranteed a player still holding the hidden Idol at F4 a place in the finals. For Survivor Fiji, the rules have changed and the hidden Idol is good only up to and through the F5, after which it becomes useless.

Hidding the Idols back at camp changed the game in more ways than one. The Idols are inside the actual camp, which makes it almost impossible to search for them without the prying eyes of fellow tribemates, especially given the restful location in which they lie. Players join forces to dig, with an agreement to "share" the Idol if it is found, making the play of the Idol a more interesting strategic choice.

As we reported, we were told that at least three hidden Immunity Idols are found. None are found before the tribal switch, two are found before the merge and one is found after the merge. Of the Idols played, one definitely changes the outcome.

The Power of a Promise: Controversial Decision

One of the big talking points before the show premiered was the controversial decision which is made late in the game. As we stated earlier, the controversy impacts the final outcome.

From what were told, what seasoned spoiling sleuths across the boards have deduced is accurate: the controversial decision does indeed center around the infamous car curse. As Probst stated during his pre-season Press Conference, "the car challenge plays an instrumental role in this season, a huge role." The surprising winner of this challenge will once again have a big impact: deals are struck, keys exchange hands, and the car curse lives on in dramatic fashion. As for the lucky recipient, a close reading of Probst's Press Conference should prove fruitful.

For previous and/or additional spoilers, check the cast page and the last published update.

The Recruitment Controversy

As if on cue, the seasonal debate over the continued recruitment of players for the game rages on across the boards.

Fans who have poured their time and energy into filling applications season after season are never more irritated than when players make it on the show through recruitment, and then fail to deliver, either by laying low or quitting the show. But as this season proves, not all who quit are recruits, and not all recruits are bad choices.

Recruiting has been a part of the show since its inception. Rudy, one of the most memorable characters from any season, was in fact hand-picked by Mark Burnett for his then fledging show. Recruited players may be hand-picked by insiders, and they may get to circumvent some of the application hoops, but they still have to participate in the interview process. The Jury is still out on the latest recruit class, but how a player does on the show cannot be narrowed down to how that player made it on the show in the first place.

We don't expect the controversy to end any time soon, but we hope that the shift in recruitment continues to favor those players who want to play the game hard, as most hard core fans of the show would wish them to do. There are players who fail to live up to expectations, and then there are Rudy, Yul and Yau-Man who definitely put their stamp on their respective seasons.

Replying to my own post just to separate VG's info from forehead's babbling...

To recap:
TC1 Jessica
TC2 Erica
TC3 Sylvia
Quit Gary
TC4 Liliana
TC5 Rita

Swap time...

Pre tribal swap we have:

Moto: Cassandra, Dre, Boo, Alex, Lisi, Stacy, Edgardo
Ravu: Earl, Yau-Man, James/Rocky, Michelle, Mookie, Anthony

One woman and five men end up swapping tribes

After the swap NuRavu continues to lose 3 ICs before the merge saves the remaining NuRavus

Anthony is the first NuRavu casualty and last pre-jury boot

Lisi is last one standing at the swap pick-em, exiled, takes place of Anthony, and booted next to be the first juror ("Last one hired, first one fired.")

The 3rd NuRavu boot (and last pre-merge boot) clue:
"Drama doused." Can we say James/Rocky?

Back to the swap...

Lisi is the only woman who swaps, Anthony doesn't swap, so

NuMoto: Cassandra, Stacy
NuRavu: Michelle, Lisi, Anthony

Left to figure out:
Which 3 out of (Dre, Boo, Alex, Edgardo) switch to NuRavu?
Which 3 out of (Earl, Yau-Man, James/Rocky, Mookie) switch to NuMoto?

IF "Drama doused." means James/Rocky is the 2nd juror, THEN Earl, Yau-Man, Mookie all swap to NuMoto, and hence are all saved this way.

Hard to figure out which 3 out of (Dre, Boo, Alex, Edgardo) switch to NuRavu...

Let's look at NuRavu

TC6 Michelle, Rocky(?), Anthony, 3 old Moto guys <note: Lisi is on exile island>
Anthony gets the boot. This could be a tie along old tribal lines, and somehow the OldMoto target gets the boot. Why would OldMoto not target Michelle?

As VG reminds us: "Sucks poster micknrc reports that Michelle "allies at some point with black dude... and makes at least Jury""

So, this may not be a tie afterall, 3 OldMotos (including Dre!) and Michelle vote out Anthony.

TC7 Michelle, Rocky(?), Lisi (back from EI), Dre, 2 OldMoto guys vote out Lisi (weak link)

TC8 Michelle, Dre, 2 OldMoto guys vote out drama Rocky

Merge

So, to recap once more:

NuMoto: Cassandra, Stacy, Earl, Yau-Man, Mookie, OldMoto guy (one out of Boo, Alex, Edgardo)

NuRavu: Michelle, James/Rocky, Anthony (to be replaced by Lisi), Dre, two OldMoto guys (two out of Boo, Alex, Edgardo)

fill in the gaps...

Lisi is the only woman who swaps, Anthony doesn't swap, so

NuMoto: Cassandra, Stacy
NuRavu: Michelle, Lisi, Anthony

But VG says all the women except Lisi are on the same tribe after the swap. Since Lisi is exiled, she doesn't count as the switchee. It has to be that Michelle switches so she is on the same tribe with Cassandra and Stacy.

Sorry, Sylvanlakes and BR, I guess this is where my being a non-native speaker interpreted the following in my own language:

"are on the same tribe after the swap"

To me that says "everybody remains on the same tribe they were originally on."

But if in English that can only be interpreted as "all end up on the same tribe", then ofcourse you are both right.

It could be interpreted correctly either way, but since VG has said they are "clues" I assume she is not giving away her own clue by revealing that Lisi is the one woman who switches.

My guess for the post-swap tribes (asterisked players are those who switch):

NuMoto: Cassandra, Stacy, *Michelle, *Earl, *Yau-man, Dre
NuRavu: Anthony, James, Mookie, *Boo, *Edgardo, *Alex (with Lisi in the wings)

Next three boots due to Ravu IC losses: Anthony, Lisi, James

ETC after reading BR's post!

That's how I read it too...

If Earl is the picker, which he may very likely be, is for NuMOTO he would make sure Monkey is with him...

Lisi replaces Anthony and is immune from Ep 6 TC but then BAMO gets axed at TC in ep 7

I think it may be:

EP 6:

NuMoto: Cassandra, Stacy, Michelle, Earl, Yau-Man, Dre (THX BR!!)

NuRavu: Rocky, Anthony (to be replaced by Lisi), Mookie, Boo Alex Edgardo

So Cassandra, Dre and Stacy will always be HAVES and Anthony, Mookie and Rocky will always be HAVE NOTS

AND You have all men at TC in ep 6 (OMH the testosterone...more so than Terry Dan Austin Nick)

Ep 7: Lisi returns and is booted at F12 first juror

Ep 8: Rocky the remaining old Ravu is F11 boot 2nd juror

Ep 9 MERGE!

Stacy Cassandra Michelle Alex Edgardo Dre Boo Earl YauMan Mookie

Will Dre Stacy and Cassandra be with Earl now...I think Dre and Cassandra will be. The first merge boot could be interesting--I say Mookie is left out to dry at goes out first (or Alex or Edgardo--I'm thinking a HI could be played here!!!!)

I think Stacy is the brunette that goes on a mini challenge run and goes out at TC 11 (spoiled to SFEVER) on Ep 11

You have seven men switching tribes. I say Dre stays on Moto and Mookie stays on Ravu. That puts Earl, Dre, Yau-Man and Cassandra on Moto and on track to the end-game.

ETA: at least, that would be the most obvious guess based on VG's longevity spoilers. Although she also says one use of the Hidden Idol really does change the outcome of the game, so we'll see...

If James vs Mookie as the final pre-merge boot is still an open question, then I would suggest that we not dismiss Mookie from our speculations regarding the "drama doused".

I'm not sure why both of these sentences are in VG's clues because they seem to mean the same thing:

Two Erstwhile non-tribe members start the alternating tribe pick'em.

We were told that the tribe pickers will end up switching tribes.

Unless in the second one VG meant to say that "the tribe pickers will end up switching camps," since that is a separate issue -- even though the pickers switch tribes they could have ended up at their original camp since the new tribes have to draw lots for the camps.

My initial guess is that Earl and Alex (the leaders) are the pickers.

Again, sorry, I didn't copy correctly. The "E" in Erstwhile is bolded on SP. Just read some interpretation on Sucks, that would likely imply Earl and Edgardo would be the pickers (and both switch).

ETA: Earl picks and his tribe goes to the Moto camp, Edgardo picks and his tribe goes to the Ravu camp.

I agree. And that is one reason why I think that James may make the merge. It seems to me that we were treated to a great deal of extraneous footage of his tiff with Dre if the twain are never again to share a communal bed.

Then too, if the capacity to initiate and sustain cage-rattling 'drama' is the measurement, I think that it may be appropriate to note that James brings to the scales only a Virgo Sun and Capricorn Moon.

Mookie, on the other hand, is a Scorpio. With an Aries Moon.

I rest my case ...

"yes we know how 'dramatic' Scorpios can be"

Ah! But genius at work wouldn't be half as fascinating to watch if it came in a plain vanilla wrapper ...

About your Moon ...

To determine it requires not only your date of birth but also the hour (as accurately as possible) and place. And that's why it takes much longer to assemble combination profiles of new Survivors.

Their CBS biographies usually give us the date and place of their birth but, of course, not the hour. So it is necessary to check two representative hours of birth for each (i.e. 12:01 AM and 11:59 PM) and hope that they produce the same result. More often than is good for the color of my language they don't. Which means that if I ever manage to get all of Fiji's edited (including the alternatives for eight of the nineteen) the result is going to make for a very long post.

But, if you'll go to Astrodienst and scroll down to the Portraits link (in the bloc entitled Astrodienst Free Horoscopes) and supply the data requested (you need not provide any identification other than whatever first name you care to enter), it only takes a few moments to find not only your Moon Sign but a whole lot more. Just be sure to scroll down to all of the information contained in the result: Short Report - Personal Portrait.

You can even print your chart if you like. All free of charge.

ETA: Having identified your Moon Sign, you can then compare the profile provided by Astrodienst with those to be found at any number of web sites. The composites that I'm working on incorporate material from Astrodienst and Astrology - Numerology . Com.

Hiya Georgie...wow, my computer goes out on me with the raging winter storm and I come back and find a feeding frenzy in VG's thread! Great job, folks. One thing that I agree with Georgie on is that I am not so sure that James would be boot number three post swap, with Anthony being caualty number one, and then Lisi being casualty number two. One thing to note is that if Ravu loses all of these challenges, and the winning tribe gets to send one from the losing tribe to EI, AND, 2 idols are found before the merge and one after the merge, then I would suppose that one from old Ravu will find the idol at old Ravu, and then one from old Ravu may find the idol at old Moto. Indeed an idol could be played to save one likely target, while booting an unlikely one. If this happens, it will surely lead to drama.

As we reported, we were told that at least three hidden Immunity Idols are found. None are found before the tribal switch, two are found before the merge and one is found after the merge. Of the Idols played, one definitely changes the outcome.

There's really only one way that playing the Idol can change the outcome, which is that it is played successfully, saving the idol-holder and resulting in the unplanned boot of another player.

We know at least two idols will be played -- to quote Probst from the teleconference: "The idol I can tell you gets played more than once this season."

If only one markedly changes the outcome, it sounds like the other playing(s) of it don't have any effect on the general progression of boots. Perhaps one contestant plays the idol when it turns out they didn't need to. Perhaps another contestant doesn't play it when he/she should have, rendering it useless.

FP ...

As you've suggested, the “drama” that VG attaches to the boot of the (revised) 1st Juror may well be associated with the discovery and play of a Hidden Immunity Idol. But, in view of the fact that the (revised) prevailing opinion is that Dre joins James as a member of NuRavu in the tribal realignment (the previous speculation/spoiling would have made their reunion impossible until the merge and so I had suggested that we not dismiss Mookie from our list of candidates for that boot), I’ m a bit encouraged to think that the concluding chapter of the inevitable clash of those two personalities so prominently featured in Episode One is VG’s “drama doused”.

Inevitable because there just isn’t a jungle big enough to accommodate a particularly expansive Sagittarian intent upon making his omnipresence its defining characteristic and a particularly ambitious Virgo equally intent upon fashioning a cooperative defined by order, efficiency, purposeful routine and (above all) calm.

Remember Judd and the howler monkey? …

On another note:

Supposing VG’s information to be correct, am I the only one who finds it a bit suspect that Alex, Edgardo, Dre, Mookie, James, Anthony and/or Lisi lose three Immunity Challenges in a row to Earl, Boo, Yau-Man, Cassandra, Stacy and Michelle … without a dash of malice aforethought?

38. "Car curse / controversial decision"
So let's try to figure this out. VG says:

As Probst stated during his pre-season Press Conference, "the car challenge plays an instrumental role in this season, a huge role." The surprising winner of this challenge will once again have a big impact: deals are struck, keys exchange hands, and the car curse lives on in dramatic fashion. As for the lucky recipient, a close reading of Probst's Press Conference should prove fruitful.

From Probst's teleconference:

Ford came in and I'll tell you this, the car challenge is back and the car curse, the question of the car curse is back. The car challenge plays an instrumental role in this season, a huge role. I feel bad that GM was a sponsor all these years and Ford comes in the first season and gets a lot of bang for their buck.

then at the very end, after a long spiel about Dreamz...

I just have one other thing I wanted to say. There's one other thing that happened late in the game. There's a big ethical decision that has to be made that I think people will care about. I think by the time it happens you will be invested in the people involved, that you will care. It's the quintessential question of Survivor. Where do ethics begin and end and where does the game begin and end? It poses that question. What is your word worth in this game and in your life and is there a difference? Would you act the same way at home? When we were out there and it happened it was a big moment. I think on the show it will probably have the same sort of significance. It's something to look out for.

From the way Probst talks extensively about Dreamz, especially right before the part posted above, Dreamz must be involved in this in some way. But VG characterizes the winner of the challenge as "surprising". Dreamz winning the car challenge doesn't seem like much of a stretch.

Probst says there are "people" involved in the ethical decision, and VG says "deals are struck, keys exchange hands, and the car curse lives on in dramatic fashion..."

I'm thinking Dreamz will be the "lucky" recipient of the challenge winner's magnanimity, in exchange for a promise (a la Twila swearing on her son), which Dreamz then decides to go back on after weighing his grand ethical decision. That is the decision that will have the audience siding with or against the decider.

So who would be a "surprising" challenge winner? Yau-Man, or one of the women left?

39. "RE: Car curse / controversial decision"
LAST EDITED ON 02-14-07 AT 02:03 PM (EST)

I was way off on this decision, I like your thoughts BR about YM or Cassandra. Although it possibly could be Michelle-- she's supposed to go "mid jury" and car is usually last reward which would be most likely at F6 which if she is voted off then could be "late-mid jury." Could Michelle be the winner and then Dre gets her to give him and maybe everyone else a car?

The bang for your buck comment makes me think that more than 1 person ends up with a car, but I may be reading too much into that comment. Because what would Ford want other than a lot of people talking about how great its cars are...would they get "more bang for your buck" just with Survivors talking about it...

Then later after things calm down Dre thinks he needs to get Earl out to win and Michelle is his ally. But who else would vote with him to oust Michelle at 6...the F6 should include:

Earl
Dre
Cassandra
Yau Man
Michelle (in the above scenario)
Boo/Edgardo/Alex

Dre could get B, E or A, but who else? Unless its not Michelle (bc she was voted out before F6) but either YM or Cass wins it and the F6 is:

Earl
Dre
Cassandra
Yau Man
2 of Boo/Edgardo/Alex

I could def. see YM giving up a car, not sure yet about Cassandra. I'm thinking it's YMan that wins it and gives it to Dre (or everyone) and then Dre votes with B, E and A to oust YM and either E or A uses a Hidden Idol? That would be dramatic and YM would be gone and he's Jiffy's fave so this could color Jiffy's comments and make the decision more "controversial" bc it led to ouster of his favorite?

What do you think?

I don't know if the "bang for their buck comment" necessarily means that more than one vehicle is involved. It might just be enough that the car and the circumstances surrounding it became a huge factor at the endgame and thus it just got talked about ('promoted', as it were) more extensively than ever before.

I think you are probably right...the more I think about it the more I think it's Yau Man that wins RC and is told that he can keep the car or give it to someone else, either he gets to pick someone or only the 2nd place finisher in the RC can get car.

Dre either makes a plea for the car bc of his new family (as opposed to the other 4 still in the game who may be more established/older) or is the 2nd place finisher.

In his pleas to YM, Dre promises to keep YM safe and everyone hears him give YM "his word" because Dre is going to talk talk talk!

What probably happens is that Dre et al. are hoping to try to vote out Earl but then he messes it up and wins Immunity and so the 2 of Edgardo/ALex/Boo still in the game persuade Dre to go after the next threat which is Yauman not Cassandra.

Dre agrees and it the vote either ends in a tie and YM loses the tie breaker or whomever Earl/Cassandra/YMan vote for uses an HI so as to not chance losing a tie breaker. But it is unlikely Dre would know about the HI bc then he could just vote with Earl/Cass/YM and then E, A or B use the HI and he doesn't break his word.

Nice job once again, BR!

I like Dre as a recipient of the car and then he has to make this hyped decision.

Good catch too on the "surprising" winner - I think that narrows it down to Cassandra and Yau-Man.

Any guy left (given that Gary is long gone) would not be a surprise. Stacy would be a long shot to be still around (SFever tip safe till TC11). Michelle is likely out as well (mid-jury) - even if she isn't, it would not be a surprise to see the competitive rock climber win a challenge for the car.

Yes, great catch with the recipient being a "surprising winner", and I agree, it's most likely Yao-man or Cassandra.
I get the impression that the ethical decision is in regard to the car. It is noted that VG mentions that the car curse is back...so whoever gets the car will not win? I get the feeling that the car could be used in exchange for your word. How ethical is this, and is it okay to reneg on your word when "it's just a game". What is one willing to do to win the game?

Someone is most likely going to make a deal of some sort, and then have serious misgivings later.

I think the winner of the challenge definitely does not win the game. Further, since it appears the car is going to be traded to someone else, I think *that* person doesn't win the game either. The car curse screws not one but two people this time.

Re: Michelle...

Okay, upon careful review of Rule #2 (I feel like Jason Staham) I'll keep my stuff in one place. The following sounds like the 'controversial decision' to me, although it's not 100% explicit:

There’s something about the “curse of the car” this season that will “change TV forever”.(ed. ha ha)

My guy follows this statement with: "So apparently whoever wins a car is hitting the final two."

Now it seems to me that the second statement could be my friend's spec on statement #1, but it's a weird leap to make if it is.

----------------------------------------------------------------

On the surface it is a "weird leap" to make, but if the source does know something, this might support what I am thinking -- the person that is *given* the car gets to final 2 3 and has to contend with the jury. Hence the car turns out to be a bigger issue than usual.

yes I agree, Dre gets the car (thru giving his word prob. to YM who leaves at F6) and then breaks it thereby losing jury votes....I think this is how Earl wins it...FWIW I think it's Cassandra also in the F3 and she may be seen as UTR (Becky, anyone?) I think Earl may run away with the vote!

More stuff...here's an article that a Sucks poster discovered. Some details may be unconfirmed, but most of this makes perfect sense if you ask me.

http://realitytvcalendar.com/recaps/survivor-fiji/spoilers/02-16-07.html

Survivor Fiji: Top 3, The Car, The Hidden Immunity Idol
Extreme Spoiler Report by Ron Lemon
February 16, 2007

We get a lot of spoiler information on a show like Survivor. Some of it is obviously people trying to get a little attention so we tend to ignore it. But sometimes we come across something that looks like it could be authentic. Normally when that happens we try and confirm through additional sources. Sometimes we can and sometimes we can't.

This is a case where we can confirm some of it and can't confirm the rest of it. But my instincts say most of this is true.

I came across a posting by "survivorsuper", a newbie, on the TVGRAPEVINE board. He says "One of the contestants have been running his mouth telling all his friends ( even the ones that didn't sign the confidentiality agreement) stories about his experience at Survivor Fiji."

Here are the basics that he spoils.

The car, actually I believe it will be a Ford truck, is won by Mookie. However he gives the vehicle to Dreamz on the condition that Dreamz will vote for him. But Dreamz betrays Mookie and votes him off.

At least one of the hidden Immunity Idols is found and Edgardo, Alex, Mookie, and Dreamz all know about it. Edgardo has possession of it and gives it to Alex so Alex can save himself. This time Dreamz betrays Alex and Edgardo and Edgardo gets voted off. Edgardo is followed by Alex getting the boot.

Because of these dual betrayals I don't think Dreamz has a chance of winning.

As most of us have figured out already, Gary will leave the show in the next episode due to medical issues. Most likely a heart attack.

Speaking of medicine. There is a "medical box" in or near the camps and it contains condoms according to survivorsuper.

Again, according to this poster, "This is a fact, for sure, all the contestants know how (who) the winner is. When they arrived at the airport in New Zealand and in LA they talked about they way they voted for the final Survivor. The last 3 contestants are all African American, including Dreamz as one of them."

This works with other sources we have seen. I think the final three will be Dreamz, Earl and Cassandra.

He goes on to post, "This is official, I heard it from a very close friend of one of the contestants. He has told everybody details about the show."

Well I would not call a "friend of"…. as official. But I am pretty confident in this information because it fits in so well with everything else we have heard.

Fact? Or hoax? I'm calling it true.

And based on what we know I think Dreamz will finish third, Cassandra in second and Earl as the winner.
And if I had to make a guess on who is doing all this talking my money would be on Dreamz.

------------------------------------

At least one of the hidden Immunity Idols is found and Edgardo, Alex, Mookie, and Dreamz all know about it.

Sounds like in the tribal switch, Dreamz goes to Ravu and Boo stays on Moto.

Great find...def Dre is the talker just like on the island and he betrays two sets of people

and Mookie is the F6 Boot!!

Soo...

19 Jessica
18 Erica
17 Slyvia
16 Gary quits
15 Lili
14 Rita

Switch:

NuRavu: Earl, Boo, Michelle, Stacy, Cassandra, Yau Man

Nu Moto: Edgardo, Alex, Dre, Rocky, Mookie, Anthony

Exile: Lisi

(my question...why can Ed not pick any women? free for all and Earl wants Michelle YauMan and Cass with him...he may have last pick and get Stacy last)

13 Anthony

Lisi replaces Anthony

Jury starts

12 Rocky
11 Lisi
10 Edgardo (above) gives HI to Alex but Dre gets others to vote for Edgardo and Ed loses after Alex plays HI HA!
9 Alex (above--goes after Ed)
8 Stacy (Sfever lasts til TC 11)
7 Michelle mid jury where else can she go but here)
6 Mookie (above)
5 Boo
4 Yau Man (possible switch with Boo, if Boo wins immunity but likely Earl or Dre wins it so Boo is one to go)
3 Dre
2 Cassandra
1 Earl

Could it be a 9-0 vote for Earl?

Maybe Lisi, Boo and/or Stacy give votes to Cassandra?

If all this backstabbing is true, Dre does NOT GET a vote (maybe Boo???--depends on Boo/Earl relationship). I know if I was Earl I'd gladly bring him along. What a hoot after EPMB wanted closer votes w/ F3

Ok see you in May

Remember Emy that the tribe pickers get swapped and they don't know until after they pick. So Earl picks what he thinks is the better stronger team and then gets the other side anyway, which turns out to be the powerhouse, how ironic!

89. "RE: VG post"
On reflection, the info about Mookie winning the car doesn't seem to fit anyway. Ravu will be merging with 4 to Moto's 6. If Edgardo and Alex are the first two post-merge boots, Mookie and Dreamz should be the third and fourth targets.

They never have the car challenge that early; and, even if they did and Mookie won, why would Mookie make a deal with Dreamz at that point when Dreamz had just sold out his other buddies? It would make more sense for Mookie to offer the car to Earl or someone in the dominant group.

And Mookie doesn't strike me as a "surprising" winner of the car challenge. Maybe Mookie was confused with Yau-Man, the other Asian man, who has already been shown to think strategically (looking for the idol in Sylvia's bag) and would be likely to make a deal -- and, *would* be a surprising challenge winner.

In any case, Mookie winning the car doesn't quite add up.

KOFan -- I don't think Earl and Edgardo are swapped after they select their tribes. My impression is that when the new tribes are being formed they don't know which tribe is going to be NuMoto and which tribe is going to be NuRavu, until after they draw lots for the camps. The tribe that Earl picked ends up being NuMoto and the tribe Edgardo picked is NuRavu. Hence, Earl and Edgardo have switched tribes.

Thinking about the HII's -- none get used before the merge, as Moto never goes to TC and the one found on Ravu gets wasted at the Edgardo boot TC. So there must be at least one more HII play post-merge.

48. "RE: MAJOR UPDATES"
Of course, "keys" could well refer to those for one car. And "hands" could refer to only two pairs of them.

And "lucky recipient" - unless 'lucky' is used to separate that recipient from another or other 'unlucky' one(s) - would also seem to indicate that only one car ignites the "controversy".

But "deals are struck" sounds suspiciously as though either multiple cars were involved or that multiple "exchanges" of "keys" transpired and multiple "promises" were made. Or both.

Note: At the very least, this clue tells us that this time 'round the winner of the car (or cars) was permitted to barter the prize. I can just hear it now: 'A Ford for your vote, anyone?' 'Two for your Immunity?'

Mercy! Every cash-strapped and/or subpoenaed politician in West Virginia will be green with envy ...

Another thought that nags:

Given what we've seen of these Survivors to date, while either Yau-Man or Cassandra would certainly be a "surprising" winner of a physical challenge, wouldn't it be just as "surprising" if Dre triumphed in a contest that featured a complex puzzle or detailed quiz?

Yes, you are right, Georgianna. Yau-man, Cassandra would be likely winners for a mental challenge, while Yau and Cassandra may be unlikely winners for a very physical one, whereas Dre would be unlikely to win a mental challenge, yet likely to win a physical one.

Perhaps Dre wins the car initially and must decide what to do with it...

True. "Surprising" depends to some degree on what kind of challenge it is. The car challenge almost always has a heavy physical component but since there are always multiple legs it probably has a puzzle component or two as well.

I do think Dre is definitely one part of the controversial decision equation. Not sure about the other person(s), but Probst feels we will have "invested" in the parties involved, and he did say he thinks the audience will adore Yau-man.
I also see Earl as a possibility (more so if Dre were the challenge winner).

LAST EDITED ON 02-15-07 AT 02:53 PM (EST)

What excellent groundwork has been laid, but I still think a few things off, so here is my attempt at the boot list based on all info out there (that I have had the opportunity to read that is)

Original Moto (HAVES)
Cassandra
Dre
Boo
Alex
Lisi
Stacy
Edgardo
Liliana
Gary

Original Ravu (HAVE NOTS)
Earl
Yau-Man
James
Michelle
Mookie
Anthony
Rita
Sylvia
Erica
Jessica

Boots:
1- Jessica (Sylvia exiled)
2- Erica (Earl exiled)
3- Sylvia

QUIT 4- Gary
SACRIFICED 5- Liliana

6- Rita

Tribe Swap:

Erstwhile pickers: Earl, and Edgardo (1 woman and 5 men swap, pickers swap tribes, all woman except Lisi on one tribe, person exiled last picked)

Choices to pick from: Cassandra, Dre, Boo, Alex, Lisi, Stacy, Yau-Man, James, Michelle, Mookie, Anthony

Final new tribes:

NuMoto: Earl, Michelle, Yau-Man , Cassandra, Stacy, Dre

NuRavu: Edgardo, Boo, Alex, James, Mookie, Anthony

Leftover and exiled, will join NuRavu as "minority woman": Lisi

Boot list continued: (3 more Ravu losses)
7- Anthony (Lisi exiled)
Jury Begins
8- Lisi
9- James

Note: In the time it takes to make these three post swap boots, 2 hidden immunity idols have been found (but not necessarily played yet). Per Jeff's teleconference you can tell from the clues that the idols are in the exact same place in each camp We can conclude Since we know Earl goes to exile island at least once and should get two clues, it is safe to say that he could be one who comes to this realization but only after getting to the NuMoto camp. I think Boo might find the other idol after the swap and it helps him stay in game longer as he uses it after the merge and quite early in process, hence it then goes back into hiding.

Merge: Earl, Michelle, Yau-Man , Cassandra, Stacy, Dre, Edgardo, Boo, Alex, Mookie

Boot list continued:
10- Mookie
11- Edgardo
12- Stacy
(Boo uses idol)
13- Michelle
14- Alex
15- Boo
16- Dre
17- Cassandra

18- Yau-Man
19- Earl

(Edited to switch Michelle and Boo)

The person who is the recipient of the car (after a "fruitful") search of Jiffy's teleconference, is the person on the original Ravu tribe who finds the Pineapple which should most likely happen in episode 2 or 3 as described by Jeff:

Cutting to another tribe finding a single pineapple and celebrating like they just discovered fire. It's one of the biggest moments, somebody finds a pineapple and it's like you hear the choir go "aaaaahhhhhh." It was pretty significant and I thought it played great.

The car challenge is usually the last full on reward challenge and is usually a recrap of many of the previous challenges. If the car challenge is normally held at F5 when there was a final 2, then it would make sense for this car challenge to be at F6 because of the new final 3. That leaves Michelle, Yau-Man, and Earl as the only original Ravu's who could be the recipient of the car.

If Dre is involved in the car curse controversy (as many speculate) then it would seem to have to be either because he wins the challenge and gives the car away, or he is involved in some deal involving an agreement to exchange a vote for a hidden immunity idol.

WELL DONE, KO! I think you are right on! I think the person who RECEIVES the car(and thus the car curse) will be the original Ravu that finds the pinapple! I knew you could figure this out.

I still have reservations regarding James. Remember, Ravu will most likely be the only ones that get exiled if they continue to lose every challenge. So if no idols are found prior to the swap then it's most likely that an original Ravu find the idol at the Moto site, and it's also still likely that an original Ravu find the idol at the original Ravu site. If Boo is swapped, it would still be less likely for him to find an idol than say one of the original Ravu's still there(Mookie, James, and we know it WILL NOT be Anthony that finds it). So, imo, one of Mookie or James finds the hidden idol at Ravu and uses it at the TC that follows Anthony's boot. In fact, the more I think about it, if the target with the idol shares the info with his original tribemate, than they could perhaps get one of the "others"(the original Moto's) out, and now I am leaning toward this being the case. I think the boot following Anthony could be one of Edgardo, Boo, or Alex and I'm leaning toward Edgardo. This is sure to lead to LOTS of drama as well...

But we have from VG hints to the two boots that follow Anthony:

Last one hired/first one fired= Lisi
Drama dowsed= James

Because Lisi was at exile during the previous episode when Anthony was booted, she comes back and is the odd person out. I think that Boo might be the exile in this episode because of his strength and NuMoto wants to weaken him. He should get all previous clues and so this Huck Finn has a good shot of finding the idol, would also explain why he sticks around longer than some of the others after the merge (weight loss spoiler 30 lbs).

So after Lisi goes, that leaves James as the easy target for Alex, Boo, and Edgardo, plus Mookie has no love for James based on E1 voting confessional.

Definately am considering VG's clues, and I am in total agreement with Lisi following Anthony's boot...guess I screwed up my post referring to the boot after Anthony, when I really meant the boot after Lisi's...sorry! But, I could see it play out the way you suggest, but I also think that "drama dowsed" could refer to the events that unfold which could mean a scenario where the hidden idol is played and one of the "others" is booted. Just don't want to discount it at this point...

Not necessarily. He might have the idol and not realize he is the target at TC, and thus neglect to play it when he needed to.
Not likely, perhaps, but possible.

I agree with FP, BR. In order for Anthony to have found the idol he would have to find it after the tribe swap (per VG) but before TC in the same episode and then not play it not realizing he is a target. That means he would have to be exiled in episode 3, 4 or 5 OR someone who was exiled shares the info with him, OR he is astute enough to see other people searching for idol and finds it without their help. I suppose this is possible since his occupation is a witness locator

I agree it's unlikely Anthony would be sent to Exile Island, but if he is allied with someone who went there that person might have clued him in, since VG says people agree to look for the idols in tandem. Admittedly it's a longshot.

ok, so we need to watch tonite or next week...about pineapple.... Yau Michelle or Earl... if Michelle is even still in the game...but whomever finds it we know has to stick around to F6. My only hesitation about Michelle is that F6 bootee is not really Mid jury in jury of 9...but I guess it is late-mid jury

Nice work...

So I guess the questions are both the challenge winner and car recipient cursed not to win the game?

I question my placement of Michelle too, and she could swap spots with Boo for example if after using the HII to save himself he goes on an immunity run, but then why Alex after Michelle? This is still just a shell because we don't know how the HII will unfold and affect the game, plus we don't know all alliances yet.

But yes, I think we can conclude that if the pineapple finder is either Earl or Yau Man (or Michelle), then that is the car recipient. If anyone else finds the pineapple than my theory is shot

Sorry, "fruitful" wasn't meant to imply that the identity of the recipient is revealed through interaction with fruit. Given the constraints of narrative and time, it would be hard to predict whether any specific sequence of camp life actually will make it to air.

I was indicating only that Probst spoiled his own show when discussing both the car curse and the controversial decision during his Press Conference.

Gary Quitting

- quits because of the heat/humidity and the bugs
- we have heard conflicting reports about Gary possibly quitting in Episode 3 instead of Episode 4.

I still think it happens in Episode 4, but tonight's preview for next week should give us an idea.

Jury

First, confirming that the clues were:
- last one hired = Lisi
- drama = James

Second, the order was inversed.
- James is first Juror
- Lisi is second Juror

I still think it happens in Episode 4, but tonight's preview for next week should give us an idea. To help answer this question here are two misdirection clues...

After a fall during the Reward Challenge, one Survivor struggles to catch their breath, causing an emergency visit from the medical team. Can they overcome this unfortunate situation or will they be forced to leave the game?

Additionally, vidcaps voiceover gives us Cassandra noting, "he was afraid and he didn't want to die in Fiji".
This could definately be Gary and it sounds as if it's more than the bugs that are getting to him...perhaps? Gary is very overweight and the heat and humidity could indeed be getting to him.

On Exile Island, one Survivor realizes the importance of finding the hidden Immunity Idol if they want to stay in the game. Will they be able to dig up the idol without their other tribemates finding out? While I can not see how the Moto's would choose Sylvia to go to EI again, it could be her...?? Highly doubt it though.

*Also wanted to mention that the 4 Kindoms at Sucks has tracked that Gary and Liliana will be traveling to NY for the post episode 4 week, which imo does suggest that he'll quit during episode 4 and the hype this week is misdirection. Also wanted to note that for the OFG theory Sylvia is ALL over the previews.

I was thinking about Moto's choice of Earl when they knew he'd be safe from TC...at first I said send a weak person that might be a boot candidate (sort of like when Ozzy picked Nate instead of Christina last season--stupid move) but I guess at this point there are too many people for that to be a real factor and they want to weaken them. I guess Moto does not appreciate that EI is an upgrade for Ravu!!! They really should have sent someone else. I guess they didn't want to send Slyvia back to look again for HI and they don't know the dynamics of hte tribe on who would be going....

As for who goes next week...I don't know...but Slyvia knows she needs it to stay in the game...who else is in danger...Rita? We need to find out if there is finally a separate RC and the exilee is not immune.

I don't think Moto has a sense of how badly off Ravu is yet. Ravu didn't appear weakened at the challenge last night; they were ahead of Moto for most of the way. So I would expect Moto to choose a strong person to go to EI again next time -- they'd have to assume a strong person wouldn't get voted off yet anyway.

While I can not see how the Moto's would choose Sylvia to go to EI again, it could be her...?? Highly doubt it though.

I'm thinking it's going to be Rita, Michelle, or Yao Man. I don't think it's Sylvia. After getting votes at the last TC, she knows she's a likely target, and she already knows the importance of finding the Idol at camp. This isn't a new realization for her - it was laid out in the last ep.

With the tribe about to go three down, they're not going to get rid of their weak links. I threw Yao Man in there since we've been hearing over and over about his lack of strength, so the theme might continue for another ep.

which imo does suggest that he'll quit during episode 4 and the hype this week is misdirection.

The hype is giving Gary a storyline. We haven't had much opportunity to see life at the Ritz, so this gives us the spike in face time the episode before the boot that we've seen on so many occasions.

LAST EDITED ON 02-20-07 AT 11:59 AM (EST)

There has to be at least one more idol played post-merge -- Probst said "more than one" is played and from the information we have none are played before the merge.

It stands to reason that Earl will find the one at the Moto camp, since most likely he will be the only one on NuMoto who has been to Exile Island and received the clues (I don't really see Old Moto exiling Yau-Man; I suppose they *might* exile Michelle once, but I'm betting Earl goes back a few times.)

Earl may be able to sit on his idol until F5. Supposedly one usage of the idol definitely changes the outcome of the game. Would this be when it's wrongly used by Alex at the Edgardo boot TC? That doesn't change anything for the Nu Ravus post-merge, though we know Dreamz last longer. There is also the third instance of an idol being found post-merge (which should be the one put back in play after it's used by Alex). Does someone use that one later? Dreamz?

BR: Are you assuming that the Ron Lemon Spoiler article is valid? When I read that the preface to the article was that Mookie wins the car challenge, and then VG countered that Mookie will be out by the car challenge, to me that spells hoax. I don't put too much validity on this spoiler.

I will admit that it would not surprise me to see Dreamz blindside Alex and Edgardo and therefore have no chance to win, but I am not putting much stock in this article. Is anyone?

The author says some of it can be confirmed and some not. But, except for Mookie and the car, to me it makes a lot of sense, factoring in what VG has told us. The part about Edgardo, Alex, Mookie and Dreamz finding the idol fits with VG's info:

Players join forces to dig, with an agreement to "share" the Idol if it is found, making the play of the Idol a more interesting strategic choice.

And FWIW, since I was thinking Yau-man probably wins the car-challenge and gets voted out, I was guessing that Dreamz, Cassandra and Earl would be the Final 3 before this article showed up.

SURVIVOR PHOENIX
February 23, 2007

A couple of quick updates before the week-end.

For updates on previously released Survivor Fiji spoilers, please click Read more...

The Gary Saga

As previously noted, Gary will leave the game for medical reasons before the Episode 4 Tribal Council.

Gary will be present, albeit sitting it out, for the Reward Challenge. From what we have heard, he will leave between the RC and the IC. Moto shows up at the Immunity Challenge without Gary, but the challenge does take place.

It Doesn't Make Sense...

How does a winning tribe end up losing a tribe member? As we previously noted, the twist for this week's Immunity has the winning Moto tribe choosing to boot a player over switching camps. Probst has often championed the idea that the players should have to make some of the choices which determine their fate. This twist is inline with that line of thinking.

For those readers who are having trouble with the idea of a losing tribe not losing a member, Survivor has proven in the past that nothing in its folklore is sacred. Perhaps the simplest way to look at the twist is to say that it is not Immunity which is at stake. The winning tribe does not win Immunity per se, they win the right to choose one of two options: Immunity for the tribe or the camp.

February 28, 2007

The quest for the hidden Immunity Idols on Survivor Fiji will soon intensify. The third and last clue was retrieved by Sylvia during Episode 3 and future visitors to Exile Island will have all the information they need to unearth the sleeping idols.

For potential spoilers on the hidden Immunity Idols, please click Read more...

It is often forgotten that before anything else, Survivor is a numbers game. While they did lose the good camp in the process, Ravu was essentially granted a do-over in Episode 1 because of the odd number of players. Moto has to make a monumental decision in Episode 4, the impact of which is more significant given Gary's departure from the game. After Episode 4 airs, for all their dominance in challenges, Moto will be on par with Ravu with seven players each.

As a result, the power of the hidden Immunity Idols will soon start to make its mark. Who finds the idols, and how they choose to play them, will change the course of the game in different ways.

Allies, Turncoats and Moles

Episode 3 of Survivor Fiji took great pains to edit Yau-Man noticing where Sylvia was digging for the Immunity Idol. As nicely spoiled by the CBS promos this week, Yau-Man is chosen to go to Exile Island in Episode 4. With clues in hand, Yau-Man will realize the need to ally with another player in order to unearth the idol. No great leap of the imagination for the man already shown to think outside the box.

Yau-Man and Earl, the only other person to have visited Exile Island and still playing the game, will compare notes and successfully join forces to search for the idol. As we noted previously, they will not find the idol before the tribal switch in Episode 6, but will realize that the clues must have applied to both camps, as Jeff Probst nicely pointed out in his pre-season Press Conference. An idol will emerge from its hidden spot.

Meanwhile, back at new Ravu, fresh off her stint at Exile Island following the tribal switch, Lisi will share her clues with the remaining members of the disintegrating Latin Alliance. Ironically, she will not get to benefit from the spoils.

A recent post on TV Grapevine created a lot of buzz after it was reposted elsewhere as a spoiler. Some of the information contained in it was already known, either by official news releases or previously released spoilers, while other tidbits are in direct contradiction to information we have received. Still, we can confirm, based on what we have heard, that Alex, Edgardo and Mookie do work together to find the idol. At Final 9, when Alex finds out he is the target at Tribal Council, they will decide to play to idol to protect Alex. Dre moles out Alex's plans to the opposing alliance, their votes are switched to Edgardo, making him the casualty of intrigue.

The first idol is now out of the game, but since Alex was not the intended boot, it did not alter the vote result at Tribal Council. Still, from what we have been told, we should expect the great hype of "The Most Dramatic Tribal Council in Survivor History" for this episode, since it has all the elements of great TV drama.

The Earl/Yau-Man idol alliance will be successful in more ways than one. The second idol played will have an impact on the vote at Tribal Council.

The last idol gets played late in the game. It does not change the vote at Tribal Council.

Recap of previously released spoilers which have not yet aired

This is all interesting. I'm thinking the NuRavus will be too stupid to figure out there was also an idol at the Moto Camp. Once Alex plays their idol at TC, that idol will be put back into the game. If no one realizes there was a second idol that someone could have found, they will believe they are free and clear to vote for anyone who didn't go to Exile Island after Edgardo's boot. That could be an incentive for an attempted coup against Earl a TC or two later...

right BR!! Alex and Edgardo did not show they have great game savvy last nite when they just went along to go along...imho...although how could you not figure this out...but hey I'm talking about recruited players here not the sharpest knives in the Survivor drawer.

So Alex could ultimately be the victim of the 2nd HI used at F8 or F7. Maybe Alex wins regular immunity at F9 and that is why they go after Stacy bc Mookie still has ties to Earl, et al. or Edgardo does go at F9..see other thread for that discussion

and Lisi...I guess she has to tell them but why? and then how does Mookie get in on deal...bc they think they need his strength bc they don't know when the merge will be. I guess Dre still feels left out and Edgardo pays the price for that....interesting bc Edgardo was the one at TC 4 that said "If Dre feels that way, I'll make sure he doesn't any longer." Maybe he doesn't follow thru and pays the ultimate price for him not keeping this promise.

I'm thinking the NuRavus will be too stupid to figure out there was also an idol at the Moto

Well, I just watched the TC voting clip at Innertube and I think you are right even more now..

Alex Edgardo Boo and Dre all say they are sorry...Boo says the girls he's aligned with want you out...Dre says...Sorry Lili we're in a squad of snakes...Edgardo says he sorry he promised he wouldn't do it and then I can't understand...but Alex says he's sorry...I tried to fight for you but it's a democracy...did Boo vote with the girls in the 5 person alliance? It sounds like they just went along (with Lisi and Stacy) to get along but none of them had the cajones to change up the game.

Then this week we hear Lisi? say that the "the two of them are sour apples"...is she talking about Dre and Cassandra? bc the only 2 sour apples I see on Moto are Lisi and Stacy!

I was just thinking this too, LOL -- she wins the Family Reward by telling a whopper. I think Probst would have hinted that something like that happens, though, given the way he spoiled so many other things before the show started.

Jeff Probst didn't give any hint that she does something else later:

JP: Michelle is...let me see how I want to describe Michelle...Michelle is responsible for something that hasn't happened since Africa in terms of a moment out on the beach. She has a huge impact on her tribe right away. It's something that is rarely seen on Survivor and I don't think it's happened other than two times in the history of our show where someone has achieved this task and that's Michelle. She's feisty and she's, I think, a little deceptive. When you see her and listen to her she has a way of talking that makes everything sound like a question. I think people might disregard her but she's a bit more of a player than I think people realize. She shows that with her effort early on.

He does say she's a "player" though.

there is a small woman in the photo in the intro...does anyone remember when this happened before in the intro...I thought the person ended up being winner...wasn't it A$$ with Amber?

If I remember correctly, in S2 there was a lot of analysis of the credits and some people thought Amber and Keith(?) were shown, or that some kind of composite was made of several faces, but I don't think anything conclusive was established (and if it *was* Amber and Keith, what would be the significance? -- neither of them won or were F2).

I also seem to remember that in the Marquesas credits there was a focus on the letter "V" in "Survivor" at a particular point that some believed was meant as a clue to Vecepia winning.

Well, maybe they did have late night meetings, but CBS showed this one instead because 1) the lighting was better, 2)it still illustrated the fact that they had strategy sessions, 3) there was a lot of key information about Stacy and Boo presented in a short time. They probably had quite a few Stacy/Boo discussions before, but with Michelle's impending doom, the editors needed to set up why Stacy would go before Boo. The Ravu rejects were hogging so much screen time before this, to make sure that those early boots were reflected, so there wasn't a reason to show it to us earlier. That conversation propelled the story by showing so much about how the pecking order stands in NuMoto.

It was also telling who wasn't discussed - Cassandra. Now we know how nuMoto sees the pecking order for original Moto: Stacy, Boo, Cassandra. The only reason a different Moto goes first - Michelle - is because the decision is taken out of their hands and put in the hands of nuRavu.

"Following her fire-making fame, Michelle makes her mark with something else that has only happened once before in Survivor History"

Noting that she makes her mark "with something else." There's no verb there, so it's not clear that this is anything Michelle herself DOES.
Compare to Jeff's teaser about the fire, which is clearly about something Michelle actively does which is an achievement.

It's easy to make a mental association between the two teasers but VG's syntax isn't active. "has only happened" is also in passive voice. It doesn't say "has only been done by one player."

For example which almost works, Mike Skupin made his mark on Survivor history not by anything volitional but by getting burned after passing out and falling in the fire. As opposed to Dicque taking off his clothes, grinding on Susan, or biting a shark, which were all deliberate acts.

ROFL at the Bula Noni juice!
Bula is the Fijian greeting.
Noni juice is healthy but vile-tasting.
I assume VG is joking about the traditional merge feast and what a nasty sub that would make for wine?

Just put those two clues flowerpower has posted together in their simplest form, reduced to one word.
If you don't see it then, it's because you are not thinking about what has only happened once before, but instead are thinking inside the box of what usually happens.

btw, VG said my earlier post about syntax met with her approval.

Ah, after following a link above to the cast page, I get now that everyone who make merge has a merge link -- which goes to a page displaying the Bula graphic. The page is titled: "S14: Survivor Fiji Tribes." Label below the graphic says "Bula."

Apparently each person who makes merge is on the BULA tribe.
So this clue doesn't relate only to Michelle.

Michelle links go to the pic of a TC snuffer coming down and to the Chinese character explicated by knuckles.

Following her fire-making fame, Michelle makes her mark
with something else that has only happened once before
in Survivor History . (03/06)

Not sure what the colliding galaxy photo has to do with anything, but the date 03-06 got me looking into what happened in survivor history then. There were four episodes of survivor in the month of March of 06. Episodes 5-8 of Exile Island.

The only thing that made any sense is that Sally was on a team with 2 other men for reward and they won. The 2 were Bruce and Aras so they were not on her tribe pre-merge. They spent the reward 2 men and 1 woman all in the same bed.

So my guess is that Michelle wins reward with say Alex and Dreamz and they get to spend the night away together.

We have had 2 men and 2 women (S9-Chris, Chad, Eliza, Ami, S11- Judd, Gary, Stephanie, Danni, S13- Ozzy, Yul, Becky, Sundra), we have had 2 women and 1 man (S7- Johnny, Lil, Darrah, S8- Rupert, Amber, Jenna L, S9- Ami, Eliza, Chris, S10- Gregg, Katie, Jenn)

There were several 2 person overnight rewards. So unless I am forgetting a time when a threesome of 2 men and 1 woman go on reward, this could be the answer. It also fits that it isn't something that Michelle necessarily "did".

I see this reward happening at F9, so 3 teams of 3 with 2 men and 1 woman on each team.

Possible teams that would favor a win to Michelle's team:

Team 1- Michelle, Dreamz, and Alex
Team 2- Stacey, Edgardo, and Earl
Team 3- Cassandra, Yau- Man, and Boo

It wouldn't be something obscure like someone getting voted out when there's a full moon. It must be something that was related to the game in a generally obvious way.

If you don't see it then, it's because you are not thinking about what has only happened once before, but instead are thinking inside the box of what usually happens.

There are 3 symbols. Torch being snuffed, the chinese symbol for woman, and galaxies merging. So something significant happens at the merge and involves Michelle.

In my refresher of the "survivor firsts" yesterday I ran across two others (besides the two discussed in this thread) that have to do with torch snuffing.

1- Burton is the only player to have been voted out twice in the same season

and

2- Gretchen is the only woman to be booted at the merge

So, either could fit Michelle and leaving her mark as only the second time in survivor history to have it happen, and it isn't something that she directly does herself. In the first scenario it would be that she gets enough votes to be snuffed, but Yau Man uses the idol to save her and it changes the course of the game. Not so likely because it is really stretching the limits of a person being voted out twice in one season.

I'm leaning toward thinking Michelle follows the fate of Gretchen. If this happens, then there will be some drama for sure!

149. "New Survivor Phoenix Clue-"
There is yet another new clue if you look on the cast page under Stacy and Yau Man they have "The portent" with a link to the Episode 5 vidcaps. A portent is an omen. So the sumo battle between Stacy and Yau Man is an omen of a future event.

Coupled with all of the other clues of VG, here is my new boot order:

Jury:
8- Rocky
9- Lisi

Merge tribe: Bula
Buff color= purple

Boot list continued:
10- Michelle (Only the second female voted out at the merge)
11- Edgardo (Alex uses idol but isn't the target)
12- Stacy (Yau Man uses idol and it saves him)
13- Mookie (Gone before the car challenge)
14- Alex
15- Boo (30 pound weight loss)
16- Yau-Man (The car curse continues)
17- Cassandra
18- Dreamz
19- Earl (Winner)

After Michelle is voted out by Edgardo, Stacy, Mookie, Alex, Boo, and Dreamz that group gets cocky with the 6-3 edge. Maybe they have a coconut chop challenge to make Dreamz realize where he sits. Earl makes a play for Dreamz vote. With two hidden immunity idols and an immunity necklace, this TC could end up being one of the best in history as Edgardo is voted out when they believe that Alex was the target.

Now with 8 left: Stacy, Mookie, Alex, and Boo vote for Yau Man who plays the idol. Yau Man, Earl, Cassandra, and Dreamz all vote Stacy and she goes to the jury. This could also occur at F13 and Mookie could be the F12 boot.

Now the group of Y/E/C/D have a leg up and can pagong A/M/B in whatever order depending on immunity.

Still not 100% comfortable with this order, but it fits.

Interesting spec, KO ...
just following up on what you propose here:

So the way you see the dynamic, Earl / Yau Man /Cassandra /Michelle are somewhat in the position of the Aitu Four come merge time? Dreamz stays with the old Moto guys and Mookie too doesn't go back with Michelle? (I thought Mookie and Michelle were kind of tight).

So then the question would be why doesn't Earl bite the dust at the merge? Either he wins immunity or they think he has the idol? OK, in that scenario I could see Michelle being targeted over Yau Man (weaker and idol candidate) or Cassandra.

If it should work out that a woman gets booted at merge it would then be a result of the switch and Mookie's realignment with new allies. Mookie putting the other original Ravu in the majority; the switch pickem making Earl the only "classic merge target" left who is also in the minority alliance.

See, I had been imagining as of Ep 5 that the old Ravu gets the upper hand at merge because Earl/Michelle/Yau Man/Mookie get the help of Cassandra and Dreamz. I didn't see the "Mookie gets embraced by Alex and Edgardo" scenario coming. Nor did I see Dreamz sticking with the Moto. Thus I expected Boo / Alex / Edgardo to be targets come merge.

I guess it would be unwise for Dreamz to flip and create a 5-5 tie. But how does it get better if he flips at 6-3 and makes it 5-4? Guess I need to go back and read your theory again.

I'm not 100% sure why Michelle would get targeted at the merge except that Boo picked her over any other Ravu so he must think she is strong, she has been helpful at camp, and she is smart at the puzzles. With the hidden idols at large, possibly Earl doesn't get targeted because of that. Also, just fitting this to the new VG clues for Michelle. I could be totally all wet here!

Also, yes I could see Mookie staying with the NuRavu men once merge comes. He will see the numbers are 6-4 and why risk going back unless for sure they could get somebody else?

Yes, both those things made sense to me.

Where I still struggle is that we know that 3 of the nuMotu end up in the F4, so how do they overcome the numbers after Michelle is booted and they're down 6-3. Dreamz flipping alone won't do it.

So Alex plays the idol but the target is switched up to Edgardo who doesn't have it. That flushes out the idol, but there should be more votes against Earl /Yau Man/ Cassandra (and maybe Dreamz) unless they have a fifth. If Mookie committed himself to the nuRavu by voting out Michelle, do they let him flip back? Does Boo flip? I'm confused how this vote works.

The only way the minority can prevail in a vote is if the idol gets played by the majority target and the second most votes person goes home, right? As in the Stacy boot scenario, but that's listed as one boot farther down the line from Edgardo.

True OFG, and I'm at a loss to explain it. Maybe they end up splitting their votes. Maybe there is a coconut chop challenge and Stacy realizes that she is toast so she and Dreamz both jump. I'm still running scenarios in my head. They started the game all as one group for 2 full days of bonding. They swapped tribes so some new alliances will form. Once back together, I think Earl's advantage is that his groupies are more loyal to him than Alex' are. I see lots of flip flopping and craziness because for the first two merge episodes there will be 2 hidden idols and 1 earned IC necklace.

I see some firweorks on the way.

Indeed, I think this game will get interesting with the merge.
For one thing the stoopid Have Not twist will end.

So here's what I'm thinking now:
Dreamz, Alex, Edgardo, and Mookie find the idol at Ravu camp which creates a bond. They decide to share the idol. They don't include Boo. Dreamz tattles to Earl or Cassandra that Alex will be holding the idol come TC. So the plan to vote against Edgardo is born.

They still need 5. Dreamz has burned his bridges. Stacy I think doesn't flip because she's the minority vote-getter when Yau Man plays the idol.

So I'm guessing Boo joins up with Earl, the guy who picked him, after seeing that his old buds made a new alliance and didn't include him. Boo would make 5 against Edgardo.

Thing is, at that point there are 5-3, so again, why does Yau Man need to play the idol to boot Stacy? He doesn't need to play it at F8 unless his side faces a tie or worse.

And isn't Alex supposed to be booted right after Edgardo?
Edgardo is listed by Phoenix as definitely F9.

Yeah, I'm still confused. It would make more sense if the Stacy boot was at F9 and changed the game's outcome.

ETA that the above thinking about sides doesn't take into account possible repeated flipflops by Dreamz and/or Boo and/or Mookie. Trouble is, people who flipflop twice generally get taken out as unreliable traitors, and these guys last awhile.

Waitaminute. Do we know when the third (at least) found idol gets played, if at all? What if, after the Alex/Edgardo fiasco, Idol #3 gets hidden and found immediately...... (this time ON Exile Island!) What if, when Stacy gets bounced, the exile plays #3, Yauman plays his to protect himself, and one person figures out that there might be a re-vote possibility that doesn't favor them casts a stray vote toward Stacy......

157. "RE: New Survivor Phoenix Clue-"
funny, I was just reviewing what Phoenix says on the idols:

http://resources.survivorphoenix.com/postnuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1316

Exile Island/Hidden Immunity Idols:

At least three Immunity Idols are found
Good only up to and through the F5
Idols lie in restful location inside camps
No idols found before switch, two found before merge and one after the merge
One of the idols played changes the outcome

So it sounds like 3rd idol is played somewhere in the range of F7--F5 and the person holding it wasn't the target and it's no big deal.

Noted that Dreamz isn't part of the Dream Team at nuRavu who agree to share the idol. Only Mookie, Edgardo, Alex. Makes sense.

163. "RE: New Survivor Phoenix Clue-"
LAST EDITED ON 03-27-07 AT 09:35 AM (EST)

Using KO's theory about Michelle being the merge boot, how about this?

Merge (F10):

Edgardo/Alex pull Stacy/Boo back in and, with Dreamz/Mookie still in tow, they decide to target Michelle. Why Michelle? Because either Earl or Yau-Man might have the idol, and they don't want to alienate Cassandra as an old Moto member. They have no connection to Michelle. Unaware that Boo/Stacy have flipped, Earl/Yauman see no need to play their idol.

So Michelle is voted out 6-4. Most likely Alex gets the other 4 votes.

F9:

The NuRavu +Boo/Stacy alliance would have to guess that Earl or Yauman will play the other idol here, if they found it. They decide to split their votes 3-3 or 4-2; three will vote for Earl, three will vote for Yau-Man (or 4 for one, 2 for the other). Guessing that Yau-Man, Earl and Cassandra will vote for Alex again, and they need to protect Alex by having him play their idol. Thus if both Alex and, say, Yau-Man play idols, Earl will go home. If NuRavu don't play their idol Alex could end up leaving in a tie-breaker, or as the second highest vote getter.

But Dreamz, perhaps feeling marginalized, goes against this scenario by ratting out their plans to Earl/Yau-Man/Cassandra, and promises to vote with them for Edgardo. Now Yau-Man/Earl don't need to play their idol. Edgardo, idol-less, gets 4 votes, Earl gets 3 votes, Yau-Man gets 2 (or vice versa). Edgardo is gone.

F8:

With the factions now at 4-4, Yau-Man/Earl need to play their idol this time to get the upper hand. Perhaps they target Stacy and Boo as traitors, and decide on Stacy. The vote is 4 for Stacy, 4 for Earl/Yau-Man, who plays the idol. Stacy leaves.

(Dreamz may need to win immunity here, otherwise A/M/B/S would probably try to get him out - unless they've come to the conclusion that Earl/Yau-Man don't have an idol.)

F7-F5: Alex, Mookie and Boo are picked off, in whatever order. None of them have the third idol, but the third idol is played at F5 because it's void after that.

(Edited for clarity.)

I don't think the immunity-run spoiler was very solid, I haven't seen it mentioned recently. Does anyone remember where it came from?

I think Michelle getting booted at the merge makes sense as an interpretation of VG's riddle, and it also seems to work in terms of filling in a general scenario for the second half. I was guessing Mookie as the merge boot but couldn't make the subsequent pieces fit without a lot of flip-flopping going on.

I'm wondering about the Final 4 TC: if Dreamz is the one that can save Yau-Man, are both Earl and Cassandra voting against Yau-Man here? If so, Earl should have an "ethical" question surrounding him too. Unless a crack appears in their alliance (e.g. because Yau-Man never tells Earl about the idol until they need to use it?).

The other possibility would be that Earl and Yau-Man are voting together for Cassandra and, instead of voting with them, Dreamz forces a tie against Yau-Man, and then Yau-Man exits by losing a tie-breaker.

I just tried to find it but can't was it on Sucks somewhere? but I can't find it...remember Mookie is not supposed to make it to car challenge which is will most likely be F6 bc F3 vote...so..it would go

12 James
11 Lisi
10 Michelle--Maybe earl has regular Immunity here and are think Ym is less of a threat
9 Edgardo NuRavu Idol Used by Alex DOH
8. Stacy NuMoto Idol Used by Earl given to him by YM
7 Mookie
6 Alex Car Challenge
5 Boo Someone Third idol used by Earl/Dre? no impact bc have to use by F5 and Boo is clear target who doesn't win reg IC
4. Yau Man (why him and not Dre...is Earl afraid of him winning more votes?)
3. Dre/Cass
2. Cass/Dre
1. Earl

Your list here agrees with my list in Post 149 and for the same reasons.

Remember that Dre and Yau-Man make some sort of deal. It would have to be a heck of a deal if it means Yau giving up the car. So that could easily explain why Earl sides with Cassandra at F4, because Dre swore to Yau that he wouldn't vote for Yau in that situation. So Yau thinks he is safe, Earl and Cassandra vote for Yau-Man, Yau-Man votes for Cassandra (or Earl) and Dre not wanting to cause a tie vote deceives Yau-Man and votes for him too, Yau gone 3-1. Dreamz the snake in the F3 with Earl and Cassandra.

And it was a deal that Yau-Man would expect to be a secret deal. But then Dre decides that he doesn't want to end up in a 2-2 tie (or doesn't want to give Yau-Man a chance to backstab him), so he makes sure that Earl and Cassandra know how Yau-Man sold them out.

I'm expecting the car challenge to be at Final 5. Having gotten a new sponsor, I think they'd give Ford a prestigious spot at the final reward challenge. Besides, I think Yau-Man will give the car to Dre while they are away alone on a reward. At F6 usually three people get to go on the reward.

But remember BR that in the past the car challenge has been at F5 as the final reward challenge, you are correct, but this year we have an F3 not an F2 and so I expect that the final reward challenge will be at F6 not F5. This is only speculation, but it would make sense. Last season they had the F5 as the finale episode, so they did not have a reward challenge during the F5.

Oh, I thought they did have a reward at F5 last time, but if not then there probably won't be one this time either. So the challenge must be at F6. I guess it's also possible that Yau-Man bribes Dreamz with the car later and not immediately after the challenge.

By the way, does anyone think Boo has lost much weight yet? I can't really tell. But if the merged tribe lives at Camp Moto, Boo will have spent the entire game there stuffing his face. So I'm wondering if the weight-loss spoiler really signifies anything.

And isn't Alex supposed to be booted right after Edgardo?
Edgardo is listed by Phoenix as definitely F9.

This spoiler came from the discredited spoiler about Dre shooting his mouth off...I don't think it happens that way...

I think The SFever tip that Stacy last to TC11 means she leaves at TC11 which is F8 (Why else put TC11 in it if it's not that TC that she leaves) I think this has to be when YM/Earl play the idol

At F10 Earl and YauMan don't play the idol...maybe Earl has regualar IC and YM is not considered strong so they take a calculated risk that pays off..instead the sharp Michelle ala Gretchen is the merge boot. Also maybe they are told by Stacy and Boo that they will voted for Alex with Earl's gang(that's why Alex is the one to play the idol next TC) So its a 6 (NuRave plus OldMoto)to 4(Earl YM CASS Mich) vote with Michelle leaving.

At F9, Alex fears that YM/Earl will play the idol so he plays it...Dre snakes out the plan and replaces Michelle as a 4th vote with Earl's gang...who goes with them too...I think it's Boo..a light bulb finally goes on over his head and he realizes that he's now out of loop...maybe Earl and Dre work on Boo. If Earl wins IC they really don't need to use their idol and YM is still not considered strong..but if Earl doesn't maybe they trust Dre and Boo enough not to play it here. Then The vote is 5 votes (Earl Ym Cass Boo Dre) for Edgardo DOH! and the remaining 4 votes (Mookie Alex Edgardo Stacy) split between Earl and YMan to 3(2 or 1) votes for Earl and 1( 2 or 3) votes to YauMan...with NuRavu thinking that Dre and Boo are still with their "Honorary CaiBoi 3/3 split the vote voodoo plan"

At F8 with Boo/Dre being exposed as no longer NuRavu, Alex is in desperate straits...maybe he wins IC or is able to finagle sumpin with Earl (unlikely) or he gets Boo back bc Boo knows that Earl has to go and he doesn't want to vote Stacy. So it looks there could be a tie...At this point the idol has to be played...it's too risky not to do it here...I think YMan either plays the idol or imo it's more likely that he gives it to Earl...maybe this is the first time Earl is not safe with IC necklace. IF Alex does win IC necklace, that leaves Mookie or Stacy as boot candidate for Earl's gang. Maybe Earl has a soft spot for Mookie or more likely Dre (with Cass) says to get Stacy for her bad treatment and they throw him a bone. Any way, it's a 4 votes for Earl (Stacy Alex Mookie Boo) to 4 votes for Stacy (Earl Cass YM Dre F4 anyone?) and the Idol causes Stacy to go

Then F7 Mookie goes bc we he's spoiled to go before car challenge...why not Boo or Alex...Alex wins IC again and Mookie is seen as stronger or less likely to vote with Earl?

Then F6 Alex finally loses IC and he goes leaving Boo as last one to go at F5..

YM gets screwed by Dre at F4....then the vote....

I don't think Boo is the type to do all that flip-flopping. And why would he flip with Dre of all people?

What would happen if two people play an HII at TC and it turns out they are the only two people to get votes? I don't think they know. They'd probably be afraid it would go right to the purple rock. At F9 the safest thing for the NuRavu alliance would be to split their votes, so there is at least one person getting votes who won't have played an idol and therefore will have to leave.

If NuRavu splits its votes, Earl/Yau-Man/Cassandra won't need a fifth person to vote with them at F9 as long as Dre does.

good pts. I was wondering as I was writing this what would happen if Alex and Earl both played idols and the vote was a wash...would it be the other 7 pick a purple rock.. a revote? Unless I knew what would happen (maybe they do...I know in A$$ they knew that Purple rock would happen that's why Jenna sided with Romber) I wouldn't chance it.

BR the only way that someone else doesn't flip with Dre and the Earl/YM idol is not used at F9 is if Dre also knows about the Caiboi Voodoo Plan. Otherwise, it wd be very risky not to also play the idol bc it could be 5-4 against Earl or YM (if Earl has IC Necklace). I think they do play it at F8 to oust Stacy, so I think they have another person's vote at F9. I think it's more likely it's Boo not Stacy bc he's not in on the male NuRavu idol plans.

What about this (it won't happen bc we know Ed goes at F9) but if I'm Alex and I'm trying the CB Voodoo Plan but I am also worried about a snitch(hey he was worried about Cass and Dre leaving at merge) then I tell everyone but Dre that the Voodoo plan is just a ruse...but keep the charade up for Dre...If I'm ALex I tell Dre 3 of us will vote YM and 3 of us vote Earl and I'll play the idol bc I was target at F10.. he tells Earl and they think they are safe not playing the idol and they vote Ed. Then the 5 of them all vote Earl (or YM if Earl has Necklace) and Earl or YM is gone with 5 votes...Alex wastes the idol but they get Earl/YM and Dre...

But why wouldn't Dre know about it? There's no reason to keep it a secret from anyone in the six. Each of the six will have to be assigned someone (Earl or Yau-Man) to vote for.

And I don't think Alex would be worried about a snitch at F9 since everything went according to plan at F10.

I still think it's a risky move to not use the HI at F9 Earl must have IC Necklace and YM is UTR enough. I wonder if Earl and YM anticipate the Voodoo plan before Dre comes to them with it. I wonder if Earl has the IC necklace (we know Alex and Ed don't have it, maybe Mookie--hey maybe he's the brown haired girl )...then the split would be btw YM and Cass...YM has to really trust Dre for him not to play the idol himself if Earl does have IC Necklace.

I know Alex doesn't worry at F9 bc of F10 vote...but we know he should!! That would be a way to save his ally...A day late and a dollar short tho... for Alex...Rob C would have done it

I doubt it. First of all, Lisi wasn't picked for a tribe (and then said she wouldn't mind leaving), which already pegged her as dispensible. Also, Stacy probably isn't thrilled having only Boo as an ally on Moto right now. I think she'd be relieved to get back with Edgardo and Alex post-merge even if Lisi isn't around.

Sure it could. Speculation is that NuRavu wins reward and exiles Yau-Man this week, Rocky gets booted. Next episode NuMoto would have to win reward in order to return Lisi to exile (they may think that since her reaction the first time was that she would rather leave the game than to go to exile).

This also would give Mookie, Alex, Dreamz, and Edgardo time to seek out and find the idol with Lisi gone.

Indeed! And then they boot her ass!

Phoenix says she shares the clues she got with her Latino allies. My guess is she has to fight this next ep to stay in the game and does so to curry favor. They boot Rocky. When she's exiled again, they hunt for the idol along with Mookie. Perhaps they do it while Dreamz is off somewhere so it doesn't "belong" to him.

I'm thinking that Yau Man could find the idol this week, and the other idol is found the next week. Then no idols will be in play to be found until after one is used at F9.

There's a new press release!

· One castaway finds the Hidden Immunity Idol and replaces it with a fake one, hoping that someone else plays the false idol at a future Tribal Council.

Looks like we now know what the evil thought is!

· Lisi returns from Exile intending to redeem herself for having expressed thoughts of wanting to go home.

NEW SPOILERS

Who will be the last exiled player before the merge? No new players will visit Exile Island until the tribes meet again to become one.

So next week's exile is Earl, Yau-Man, Lisi, or no one at all.

Yup, I agree it is definately Lisi that goes to EI this week. NuMoto wins the target RC and sends Lisi to try to break her spirits and get her to quit, possibly as a play to save Mookie for the merge and a possible renew of that old Ravu tie.

195. "The latest update"
LAST EDITED ON 04-02-07 AT 01:57 PM (EST)

We have the merge color courtesy of ebay, the tribe name and the players making the merge.

So, here's a question for the gentle reader. Anyone remember Shii-Ann?

But first...
Who will be the last exiled player before the merge? No new players will visit Exile Island until the tribes meet again to become one.

Back to the merge: in a sequence that may end up on the Insider clips if it survives the editing axe at all, some of the Survivor Fiji women finally will get a moment to shine. Unfortunately, it is not challenge related: they design the tribal flag with all the players' names framing the border. Rumor has it that it is not quite as artistic as the merge flag Bruce designed in season 12, but it is a step up from the boring merge flag from season 13.

What Survivor producers giveth, Survivor producers taketh away. As reported at Survivor Sucks, the newly formed Bula tribe will find that Moto camp has lost its appeal when they return to it after the merge festivities. The camp will have been stripped and Mookie, the last-standing full-time Ravu player, never will get to experience "Good Times".

ETA: Hopefully they'll at least keep the shelter intact? The rest can go, especially the couch!

So what does Shii-Ann have to do with Fiji?

Beware assumptions. Just when they think they are now playing an individual game, the players will be thrown a curve at the Immunity Challenge. Players will compete as two teams of five, with the losing team going directly to Tribal Council, without passing Camp. Look for someone to get blind-sided when they are selected on the "wrong team" by Dre and that teams loses. Could it be that this is where those infamous clues finally come into play?

Or so we have heard. It could have been mislabeled.

This might be how Michelle gets picked off..... she gets hit with this submarine shot, and neither Earl or Yau can get to the Idol to save her!

Could the astronomical pic be a pseudo merge...not really combinging...I think Rebel Crown's link to info above says something like that...

http://heritage.stsci.edu/1999/41/supplemental.html

Good...I knew something had to happen different than a normal merge...I def. think Michelle is still the Ep 9 boot. Michelle isn't the 2nd female merge boot as we suspected...she is like Shii Ann an Asian female who is booted bc of a fake merge.

In the TV Guide for Ep 9 it says that someone breaks an alliance...I couldn't figure out who it would be if Michelle goes in a 6-4 vote other than Mookie sidign with his new guy friends and Dre sticking with the guys too.

In this scenario...I'm not sure what happens but maybe Michelle gets put on the tribe with all men (NuRavu) and she is the "obvious boot choice" when they lose.

Who the alliance breaker is??? could be Mookie if he side with Alex and Edgardo instead of Dre and Michelle? but that is not really an alliance and there's not much time to finagle if they go strate to TC from challenge.

I took this verbatim from TrixieGo at Sucks with similar info as in my post above but with the exact language from TV Guide

Per TV Guide for episode airing on 4/12

Episode Detail: Survivor: Fiji - Survivor: Fiji
The tribes merge into one group and one person betrays a former alliance. At tribal council, another castaway is voted off of the islands. Jeff Probst is the host

(I bolded above - as in Thailand - this does NOT say they merge into one tribe just one group)

(The two stars/galaxies what have you) that VG posted by the way didn't *actually* collide.)

Great riddles btw VG

I still think it's Mookie that betrays Michelle

Yes, but for now, I think the cleanest way for this to occur with Dre picking the wrong one is Jiffy says at challenge..

"Merge...what merge....to make it even Nu Ravu you need to pick someone to even things out." Why Dre picks I don't know? maybe he wins a mini challenge...he is really tough in most challenges.

Dre picks Michelle bc he doesn't want to reunite Boo or Stacy with Alex Edgardo and doesn't want to risk Cassandra his ally if they lose. He may think Ym/Earl have the idol and doesn't want them, so the only one left is Michelle....I think Dre has really been playing this game just not able to have an impact yet...he may think he can try to get Mookie and Michelle to vote with him to oust Alex or Edgardo

It doesn't say Dre picks the wrong person. It says "someone will be blindsided when they get picked on the wrong team" by Dre. That sounds like it just means they are picked to join that team and then they lose. Blindsided person ended up on the "wrong team".

I guess I took some liberty here...if Dre is picker he must have a choice, right? If Michelle is indeed the "wrong person" as VG's clues indicate and Dre is the selector could this tidbit from VG come from Earl/YM comments like "why did he pick Michelle and not Stacy" or Earl/YM could have a dreaded look at one another when Michelle is stranded? I think Dre is playing this game more than we are being shown and he knows exactly what he's doing...but we will see after the promos etc. come out for Ep. 9.

They may not have any idea what is going to happen at TC until after they are already divided into two groups. Or maybe not even until the challenge is over. If they think they are playing for individual immunity, the picks may not be strategic at all, just coincidence.

211. "RE: The latest update"
I think we are making assumptions ourselves. It clearly states that there will be a merge and that the merge tribe is Bula and the buff color is purple, and from the clue from VG she had listed all ten names on the merge tribe.

When the new merged Bula tribe goes to Moto they will be greeted by a naked camp, all the luxries stripped. The girls will make a beautiful tribe flag. In Thailand they didn't get new buffs, a new tribe name, they only "assumed" there would be a merge.

In this case, the assumption sounds like it has to do with the mechanics of the immunity challenge, and the mechanics of tribal council. So instead of being the normal "individual" challenge, it will be a challenge of 5 versus 5.

So if it is the 4 Old-NuRavu men on one "team" and they have a choice of anyone on Old-NuMoto, then Michelle is a logical choice as she has been very strong at the challenges, especially when it comes to puzzles. This could even have been foreshadowed when the men of NuRavu said that they thought the brawn wasn't working for them.

It could also be a pick-em for the teams, at this point we don't know. But Michelle would be the odd one out if it was Mookie, Alex, Edgardo, Dreamz and herself. She would also be odd man out if it was her and any combination of a majority of Stacy, Boo, Alex, Edgardo, Dreamz, and Mookie.

So, she is like Gretchen, a woman voted out at the merge. It has got to be this and not the Shii Ann assumption that is only the second time in survivor history that Michelle makes her mark.

I see what you are saying but I think it's like a combo of them both...bc Shii Ann was also voted out at ten after they thought it would be an individual immunity but it was the old tribes against one another. The link that Rebel Crown posted a few weeks back is like the galaxies merged, but not quite...VG would not have said Shii Ann if it didn't have some bearing on what happens. Also the fact that Shii Ann and Michelle are both asian women and VG used the Chinese symbol for woman...

And I am the first to admit that I made some huge assumptions about who the teams would be and how Dre is the selector...but that's just me...I'm endlessly doing that (you know me!) we'll see what the caps and promos show us...

Emy, all I am saying is that literally Shii Ann's boot will be different from Michelle's in that in Thailand it was a fake merge. All indications from VG is that the tribes do actually merge. The similarity to Shii Ann is the assumption, in this case the assumption is that the challenges now will be individual, and they are not.

So lets say they all assume the merge is a standard merge. They all to some degree or another assume that the challenges are individual and they start talking to each other about who to boot. Earl and his group tries to pull over another player or two. Maybe some people divulge that they have a hidden immunity idol. They all scramble for the majority alliance in a big group of ten going to TC.

BUT wait, they get to the challenge and by whatever mechanism, need to break into two teams of 5 each, the losing tribe will go to tribal council. Now more than ever the smaller numbers of people at TC that can be booted is liable to screw somebody, and it will be Michelle.

So really for only the second time in survivor history, a woman will be the merge boot. Yes, it is because of assumptions and so that is shared with Shii Ann, but that is not the same circumstances.

What I'd like to know is if the other 5 will attend TC to listen in on the talk, afterall many of this group will eventually be on the jury and should be privvy to that information.

It' MERGE time! and the island drama is cranked up another notch when one castaway betrays their alliance.

I still think from VG's clues, it's not just a pick em... Dre somehow gets the decision to bring over one from OldNuMoto to OldNuRavu to compete...but that is a HUGE assumption

At the time we posted our initial article on the merge, we believed all of the information in it was accurate. The evidence from the press photos clearly contradicts a specific element. We have checked back and offer the following updates to the previously released information.

We confirm that the tribes will indeed merge in Episode 9, bringing to a close the death watch of the Ravu tribe.

The press photos posted by MeSS poster anywho show the two tribes arrive separately at Exile Island for the traditional greet, eat and cheer of the merge ceremonies. The players then return to camp Moto Minus (aka Bula) as one united (?) tribe with brand new buffs.

(No Shelter? That's gotta suck..... Otherwise I would've thought they sent them to Ravu Beach )

The following photo shows the merged players with outstretched arms and closed hands. As we reported previously, the new tribe gets thrown a twist: instead of the individual Immunity challenge everyone expects, the players are divided into two teams. Teams, not tribes. Remember, they have already merged.

Clearly, our initial information about Dre was incorrect. More on that later, but for now, as a peace offering, we have some additional details on the challenge.

We were told that the players are holding individual green and orange rocks. Yes, we think it is confusing that they are using the same colors as the original tribe colors, but producers must have gotten a great deal on the paint.

The two teams should break down as follows:
Alex, Dre, Michelle, Mookie and Stacy
Boo, Cassandra, Earl, Edgardo and Yau-Man

The challenge itself is designed to test communication and problem-solving. The players will need to retrieve all the bags containing puzzle pieces and then solve the puzzle. Look for the challenge star to have a big impact once again.

The winning tribe enjoys a meal.
The losing tribe leaves for Tribal Council immediately. We have heard that the players might even be blindfolded to prevent any deliberation on the way to Tribal Council.

Back to our conflicting information. In piecing together the tips we received, there was a bit of miscommunication about Dre's actual role in this week's boot. Before the challenge, Stacy was being targeted by most members of the new tribe, yet it wasn't Stacy who ended up being booted. We will have to wait to see the show to determine whether Dre's play was a strategic move, a spur of the moment emotional response or a case of mistaken identity.

ETF: Pictures that were thumbs to full-size, and to offer a small opinion.... and to make the SP information more obvious some bolding was needed...

So is the one challenge considered both IC and RC?

Should we split this off into a new thread? *shrug*

Saturday seems to be the date for the clues lately........

"They well deserve to have"

they well deserve to have,
that know the strong'st and surest way to get.

Shakespeare, Richard II, III,iii

Even before Survivor Fiji premiered, rumors were being circulated across the Survivor boards about a dark-haired woman going on a challenge run. Speculation has championed every female player, save for Lisi, in this game. Cassandra and Stacy are the last two women standing in the game. Is either one the mysterious player?

Far be it from us to point out that all remaining players in the game have dark hair, albeit with varying amounts of grey in it. Still, from what we have been told, while dark-hair will indeed dominate the individual challenges, it will not be by a female player.

Didn't somebody guess above that Alex would be the dark-haired "girl"? *snort*

A woman will wear the braided necklace only once, but whether the win is earned or given away is up for debate. The other woman will win a reward. The strongest male player, arguably, will be good competition for Yau-Man, as the latter continues his unexpected and inspiring march towards the Survivor Challenge Pantheon before he is finally vanquished.

Cassandra must be the answer to the first half, since Stacy's supposedly on the clock next week.... Maybe it'll be the final IC? Considering that the Coconut Chop has been spoiled to be the RC, maybe Stacy will be the one to win that and fulfill the other half. Either that or it's next week on the way out. (Maybe that's why she ends up being the target for Yau/Earl/Cass/Dre?) Arguably, the strongest male player left standing just might be Alex, and since he's gonna need a IC run to stay alive after this coming episode's HII decacle, it makes sense it'd be him........

Thanks for bringing this over, vince!

Going on an immunity run...Yau. Strongest male that could be good competition for Yau...? Alex, Earl, Dreamz, Boo? Don't know. Could be Alex.

AS for the girl wearing the braided necklace, well the IN is far from braided, it's whale teeth...? Out of Cassandra and Stacy one will win reward, one will win Immunity. Could last weeks challenge be considered an immunity win? Don't think that will count. I could see Cassandra winning the RC this week before Stacy...don't see Stacy winning IC, so perhaps Cass will win an IC with someone else, as part of a team, and Stacy will get to go on a reward?

The arguably strongest male player must be Dreamz.

I still think Alex is the dark haired girl that goes on an immunity run...how else does he get to F6? Dre could take over after Alex is gone..

In her cast page...VG has Immunity linked under Stacy and reward linked under Cassandra...

So as Forehead stated over in our other game...that means Stacy wins IC next week (bc YM wins it this week) and then could not
be boot against YM at F8 TC.

Could BR have something when he questions whether Yau's idol is not played until F7 or later. But by that time Earl/Yau/Cass/Dre will have the numbers to oust the last 3 remaining of Stacy/Alex/Mookie/Boo. Does Dre keep switching back and forth so YMan needs to play it at F7 to oust Stacy? Dre is such a wild card....

The Full of Portent clue of VG's plus the SFever hint that Stacy lasts until TC11 or F8 makes me think that Stacy wins Rewad next week...VG's riddle does not say that only one reward is won by a woman...only that a woman wears immunity only once (and it may be given to her).

My thoughts are Cass. is given the regular IC at F5 when either Earl or YM play the other hidden immunity idol... No one is giving the II necklace away next week and why would VG put that in there unless it means something.

Remember VG had to revise her F10 Dre chooses the teams tip.

LAST EDITED ON 04-19-07 AT 01:37 AM (EST)

Right about now I'm so freaking confused that I'm starting to wonder if a lot of these spoilers aren't a big load of poop. I've been getting the votes right except for the one week I forgot to post one, but I've been pretty much following the crowd and have a sneaking suspicion that that's fixing to bite me in the @ss one of these weeks,

No poop whatsoever. VG has surpassed Mer and bianca. After Palau, I didn't think that was possible. She also keeps it fun, by not spelling everything out in advance.

We cannot even begin to offer enough kudos.

On emy's post -

All I said elsewhere is that I interpret VG's info as "Cassandra will win exactly one RC" and "Stacy will wil exactly one IC".

Using deduction, it seems Cassandra will win her RC this week. It seems Yau-Man will win IC this week. That means, the EARLIEST Stacy can win her IC is next week, but it could be later. All it means is (barring Stacy giving away II), Stacy should last beyond next week.

I agree forehead KUDOS to VG...

Robin any confusion you have is from my theories on VG's riddles (which I love to try to figure out) and should not discredit anything VG has done.

FH...I'm not sure if Cass only wins one reward (but that could be the case) bc in her 4/14/07 post and the info under Cass and Stacy's names, it clearly states that only one immunity is won or given to a woman (Stacy) and the other wins a reward ("a" does not mean just one imo) There is no way any one gives Stacy the II necklace bc it would only be Alex or Mookie and they need it themselves...she wins it.

I have been talking about this in the SOTS thread and I agree that YM wins the IC this week and Cass wins Reward.

I believe Stacy actually wins the IC at F7 (but it could be F8) with Alex going at F8 Mookie at F7 and Stacy at F6 when Yau Man gives DRE his Hidden Idol after he makes car challenge deal with Dre. That makes Dre's decision at F4 to boot YM even MORE controversial.

If Yauman has to use his idol in episode 11 (and I'm not saying he does), then someone from his alliance must send him to Exile Hell where he locates the new clue AND the re-hidden idol -- that is if he uses it late in the game as you suggest.
