For whatever reason, I don't think that Daniel fully realizes this, but I do believe he has a vague recollection of it. This might explain why he was so upset when he first saw the tv news report about the wreckage of flight 815. He must be having memories (re: flashes) of the future.

I definitely hope that this is the case. Getting blown up on the freighter would be a rather lame end for Jin.

Interesting idea, though I have a feeling she is really on Widmore's side. It seems to me that the losties will wind up being divided by which side they choose. It's quite possible they may have to face off in the future. This could very well be what leads them all to go back, so that we can get the final revelation about what is really going on, on the island.
Is it just me, or did anyone else have the feeling that things are setting up in a way that parallels the first season. Once again, we have a group of outsiders on the beach and the Others off in the jungle. And with the interaction between Daniel and Juliet last night, there even seems to be the possibility for a new love triangle. This time, instead of 2 men and 1 woman (Sawyer, Jack, Kate), we have 2 women and 1 man (Charlotte, Juliet, Daniel). Juliet might even fill Jack's role as the leader, especially considering that she too has a medical background.
If I had to make a wild guess about things, I'd say that Charlotte is the daughter of Richard Alpert, that he conceived during one of his off-island excursions. Now that would be mind-blowing.
