Interesting final 3...Disappointing result...have I added enough filler yet? How about now? Okay, that should be enough, so here I go:BOTTOM THREE: Matt Camile Diana (everyone seems shocked, but not I - apparently America didn't get brainwashed by one great note. Still, Jasmine should have been here before her) Diana is SAFE. And the second person voted out of the tribe is... Matt. Sad. Camile deserved to go, and now this is only going to cause Camile (and Diana) fans to redouble their efforts I do agree with Simon though that Matt blew it with his song choice. Kudos to Jennifer and Amy fans for keeping two very deserving gals out of the bottom 3 this week! Now do it again!

True.. Well, with Matt. His voice isn't that bad, but he basically blew it with his song choice (which was damn horrible). However, the thing that made me dislike Matt was his personality. He takes something, and he uses it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over to the point where it's just plain irritating (i.e.: focus and constant joking around about Simon).

She's had 3 weeks already to not be nervous! She's failed every time! I think she has a pretty voice and some potential, but right now she's just wasting space. As much as I dislike Leah and the judges shoving her down our throat, I thought Camile was worse than her last week, and equally bad this week (although Jasmine managed to be even worse)

yeah, I guess you're right, and we'll see if Camile can capitalize on one more shot (if she ever gets over her nerves she could be very good). it's not like Matt would have lasted much longer anyway.

How about Paula's latest Abdulism: to Diana, that last note was "groundbreaking."Groundbreaking???? Please. I believe that someone, somewhere, sometime, has held a note for an extended period before. Not Paula, but somebody.
Are we sure she didn't mean "grommetbreaking?" (thanks, Larry!)

dk, i completely agree. i can't believe that ONE note made up for a pitiful performance in every other respect in Paula and Randy's eyes. I was so afraid America would completely forgive it to, and was pleasantly surprised. i say vote off Paula next, she's as big a waste of space as Camile is

I wasn't surprised woth Diana in the bottom 3 because she was out of tune in a good part of her rendition. But I was hoping to see JPL or George or Fanntasia (just because of her ugly attitude) in the bottom 3. Especially JPL -he sucked to death. He was the worst singer last night.

Matt was the right person to be voted off. He can't sing (although his singing to Simon was great!) I was shocked at Diana being in the bottom three. I think her fans just assumed she's going to make it through and didn't take the time to vote for her. That happened to Kimberly Locke last year. This was Diana's wake-up call.

I for one was shocked! I could not believe that Matt got 'voted off'! It should have been Camille. Oh well, I am guessing that she probably won't last that much longer anyway. Also, Diana didn't deserve to be in the bottom 3 this week.

On the original PTTE thrd. I had Matt Rogers going last night (11th) and Camille going next week (10th), but due to Camille's misreable rendition of "Desparado" I switched them! Now, I'm kicking myself. But, the fact is, I was happy to see Matt go first -- I liked him initially, but he became way too overbearingly cheesy for me -- although, give props where they are due -- he did lose very graciously. Also, I hope Camille can get her nerves under control -- I think that is her whole problem because it is as though her voice will not even come out of her mouth. But, I doubt she will make it through next week's round. Also, I was very, very happy Jennifer Hudson was not in the bottom 3 -- ToddL's plan must be working -- and I am vowing to dial for her too (although, I've never actually voted before) and my cousin is doing the same (also a first time voter). Jennifer has excellent control over her voice and no pitch problems -- I know she kind of makes weird faces when she sings, but I just don't understand why more people (and the judges) don't like her. compliments of GeorgiaBelle All happy families resemble one another, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way

58. "RE: I'm kicking myself" |
LAST EDITED ON 03-25-04 AT 03:51 PM (EST)Everyone has their own taste in singers, but maybe I can presume to enumerate why people and the judges don't like her. First, yes, she makes horrible faces when she sings. It's distracting and extremely unattractive. This can be overcome with an extremely talented singer (Celine Dion comes to mind, even though I don't like her, as someone whose talent overcomes her tendency to look like she's being tortured), but that just brings me to the second point. She is not, by any stretch of the imagination IMHO, that talented a singer. She'd be great in my church chorale, but I'd change the radio station if her voice suddenly came out of my speakers. Just because you can sing solos in church does not make you the next Gladys Knight. Third, she just might have the worst taste in fashion in the history of television. Again, this would be a minor consideration if she was extremely talented (good example: Aretha Franklin is in dire need of a stylist but does anyone care when she opens that golden throat?), but she is not. Last but not least, her bad attitude and inflated self-importance is eclipsed only by Fantasia Barino's. It seems that she can't fit more singing talent in her body because her ego is taking up all the room. Just like you can't understand why more people don't like her, I can't understand why anyone would. Isn't great that we have such diversity of opinion?
