I have to respectfully disagree with you...Karen is not mean...and I think she has way more class than any of the twins...I have seen the twins walk around in some pretty shoy stuff..to me that is far from classy...hate the look of short shorts with the butt checks hanging out....
Diane is Diane....however...I have been a bartender, while I was going to college (funnest time in my life BTW)..and I curse like a sailor, may even make out with a stranger...just because life is short (not that I make a habit out of it) and it is a part of securing yourself in the game a little farther, so I guess that leaves me in the non classy arena
however this is a game...they have to do what they feel they need to to secure themselves for the next day, the sensory depervation is extreme, and from listening to Diane her homelife is not nor has it ever been that great, alot of girls find disallusioned comfort with their bodies, that does not mean that they are necessarily bad, just emotionally unstable which I am sure we all know that Diane is....
Karen is great, she can align herself with everyone with noone being the wiser.
Twins...man they got on my nerves with the hollier than thou crap...
Marvin...hilarious need I say more...brings the entertainment value
Diane...well she is just Diane..gives no excuses for her actions, (unless she was drunk at the time then just doesn't remember) and I like people who refuse to give an excuse just to appease others..
CB...he is a trouble stirrer, playing on others coattails...
Drew....kinda dumb..however made a great move last night....think he has alot more in him wonder if he will "rise up and shine"
Karen and Adira got along great...A even gave karen a shirt to remember her by and she understood what position karen was in...Karen was just tired of being baraided by her about veto and a sympothy vote.

I think Marvin and Diane and Will are so totally over Adria because of her religious hypocrisy. The way she says "I prayed for them because they need it" Every time she says she prayed for someone you can hear the knife going into there back. She makes a mockery of Christianity by constantly invoking Jesus, while continuing to bully and lie and steal. When she was HOH I knew immediately Will was a goner because he was gay and so many religious fanatics hate gays, and I was right. Leave God out of it and stop insulting real believers with her, superior act and condescending behaviour. She makes all Christians look bad.

Auburn, I appreciate your suggestion that larger ideas and attitudes that permeate American culture find their way into play in the very artificial world of BB5. Just because these people are sequestered on a glorified sound stage does not mean that issues from the real world do not affect their thinking and behavior toward others. (See, for instance, the other thread on Marvin and whether or not an African American could ever win...)
While I do not want to go as far as saying that Adria in particular uses her faith to bash gay people, I do have some experience with people using the "I'll pray for you" line. When my church went through the process of deciding to become a Reconciling Congregation (open to all people regardless of sexual orientation), many members were so condescending to the gay Christians who already attended our services. They used a lot of language like "hate the sin but love the sinner" (never mind how many of the prohibitions in Leviticus and Numbers that they happened to overlook because they just are not convenient) and "I'll pray for you (to realize the error of your ways." This was all just a way to say that "I am right and you are wrong and I have God on my side so there is no way that you can even challenge my point of view." (Somehow, it didn't matter that our minister as well as many theologians repeatedly told them that they had a narrow view, that the bible and faith have more than one interpretation.)
I think that many people in the house are reacting to Adria because she is part of a wider movement of people that they have encountered outside the house - people who seem to think that because they think they know God's intentions that the literal truth of God somehow flows through them and emerges from their mouths. Adria may be sincere in her faith and deserves to be respected for that. She is not, however, God, so she should not have the audacity to attempt to speak as if she were the direct conduit between God and the other houseguests. (Somebody else already had that job about 2000 years ago.)

I agree, Estee. I think that the unspoken part of Adria saying "I'll pray for you" is "because you're too ignorant to realize just how messed up you are or how much you really need somebody to pray for you because you're going to be sorry for eternity."
A truly humble Christian might try praying for people in need but not necessarily broadcasting that she is praying. After all, prayer is between the person praying and God. I imagine that God manages to hear prayers made silently and does not require that they be repeated out loud to an audience.

I'd rather see her in the background primping in the mirror than to be at the door hugging A goodbye and pretending to be nice. I'm also glad Marvin said what he said to A. Someone needed to. What he said to her was right on the money. People have been calling Karen crazy. But Adria is the one living in another world. She agrees to play the game with her twin and act as one person for the first five weeks. Then when they both get into the house, she is offended that she's not treated as an individual even though she's still playing the game joined at the hip with Nat, but now they are pretty much one person with two chances at everything. She took the high road, alright. Her goodbye was more of a "na, na, boo, boo," I've got double power on the jury. And I won't even get started on all of the bible stuff. Hopefully her time in the jury house will give her a chance to catch up on that reading starting with the part about "doing unto others." Edited to add, I just loved it when A was complaining about Marvin putting her up when she has no alliances in the house. Uh, Adria, didn't you do the exact same thing to him?

After all the moaning about people never giving Natalie a chance or treating the twins as individuals, how does Adria leave the house? First, she imparts a message from Natalie, who she has not seen in a week. How does she know what Natalie was thinking? Natalie is her own person and can speak for herself the next time she sees the other HGs. And then she made a point of saying that everybody left in the house needs her vote - wait, no, they need votes from Adria AND Natalie. But I thought that they were individuals...?! It seems to me that they should be capable of making their own decisions and possibly casting different votes. Why does Adria insist that they will vote the same? Isn't it possible that people never treated the two of them as individuals is because they never stopped playing as an individual once they were in the house? Karen was exactly right that everything they did was two-for-one. They played as an individual who got to cast two votes. Marvin was exactly right to call her out at that point. Everybody had enough of her hypocrisy by that point. I appreciate that Marvin is willing to call a spade a spade, just like he called out Jase when he was attacking Adria following an earlier eviction.

How could Will break the pinky swear first?! He was never HOH, he never made any nominations, he never had POV and refused to use it on a twin. Maybe Will did talk some strategy and looked at every possible permutation, but they all talk strategy all the time. They don't have much else to do for entertainment in that house. Will may have suggested that the twins needed to go, but he never followed through on the suggestion. As soon as they were both in the game, however, the twins won HOH and turned on their closest allies.

Detective,Don't forget that Will had the alternative pact thing going with Jase--if it was convenient for him to use. Will was playing all the angles, like most of the guests. If Will had been the one to get the twins out I wonder if there would have been as much uproar over pinky swear breakage. I have read on the boards how some adults still use pinky swear with their grown up kids but for me it would be a child like promise--a direct discussion, mano a mano, eye to eye would mean more to me.

Yeah, it would have been interesting to see how Will continued to interact with the Whoresmen alliance if they had remained stronger longer, but Drew threw a monkeywrench into that by nominating Holly. I had the impression that Will wanted to distance himself from them based on his diary room confession that he found Scott and Jase especially immature, particularly when they used the word "gay" as a derogatory description. Didn't he practically break out crying, saying it was like being in high school with the bullies all over again?
You're right, though, that Will did try to sit the fence, at least for a while. Unfortunately, we'll never know exactly what he would have done had circumstances been a little different.

Considering that Osten first quit on day 4 and then later on proceeded to be beat in a weight holding contest by a woman who wasn't even a weight lifter. I would have to say that his performance was far from being competetive and more his just being there as decoration. That is not a player just a really lucky contestant.
As for Diane sticking your tongue in someone's mouth who you find repulsive is trashy regardless of what the excuse is. I'm betting she's even sluttier thatn that in real life.

Diane makes me sick.... It is so hard to believe how everyone dogs out Adria when Diane is the one that deserves it. I don't think Adria should have run her mouth like that when she was leaving, but I still respect her alot more than most of the players. I wish Adria would have said: I just want to say one thing, and it is DIANE who came to me to get Will voted out of the game!
