They can row or swim and get to shore. 1st male and female will get the immunity necklaces. James says that Jiffy is a sum bitch! They are all jockeying for position to get out of the boat first. They are getting closer to land as Wacky Wanda begins to sing. Willard calls her a lunatic. She is singing a ditty about being on Survivor. Wanda is all about it being one big party! Stephenie decides to jump in and swim. Jonathan is second in the water. They are falling behind and they want to get back in because the boat is going faster than Steph but Jonathan is keeping up but he falls behind quickly. As the boat gets closer everyone starts diving off! Steph and Jonathan are WAY behind. Ian is first to shore and grabs a necklace. Jolanda grabs the necklace. mood shot: more WWII wreckagecaryn: everyone, let's think about who does water, shelter.
Coby: we got to things fairly quickly, people broke off got water, built shelter. Wanda keeps singing during shelter building.
Tom: everyone is walking around in different directions. a few tried to wrangle me into doing the fire; that's a looser job. Ian: it was difficult working with the clothes we had, but people made modifications. It was great, as clothes came off, skirts got higher. Angie: we were so excited to find the water, and also found a bag of everybody's shoes, which was really nice. Me and Coby knew that we were kindred spirits; we understood being different, ostracised.
Coby: Angie and I realize we're outcasts, but we'll have to watch it, so we don't become targets. Janu climbs the tree to put the reeds up at the top. Don't know if it was good or bad, but I wanted to help. Stephenie and Tom start talking strategy, but worried about reshuffling. Jolanda eats a grasshopper, gets excited! Coby, Greeg, Caryn start talking who to vote off already! They mention Jonathan; Coby says he doesn't connect with him.
Coby: we all think tribal council is coming soon; everybody's security is being blown. I've gone to all groups and said "who are you going to vote for"--as long as it's subtle, you can change their minds, because at this point, nobody wants it to be them. Night shots, dawn shots, Jeff walks in. "how's everyone doing?"
Immunity necklaces guarantee that you will last 10 more minutes--there will be 2 tribes of 9 members each. 2 people will immediately be sent home. The pick-em scenario will play out just like it was spoiled, each picks opposite gender Ian picks katie, who takes tom--janu--gregg--jenn--coby--caryn (angie looks pissed at that!)--caryn takes Willard, jonathan goes home. Jolanda takes Bobby jon, --stephenie--jeff--kim--james--ashlee--ibraham--takes Angie, Wanda goes home. Angie gives wanda a hug. jonathan looks ready to cry. the survivors cheer wanda and jon as they leave. coby is in tears. Wanda sings a song as she leaves. jon looks like "jeez, I'm stuck on this boat with this nut?"
Jolanda: I was really really sad, but I'm going to wipe my tears and refocus. Ian's tribe is Koror; Jolanda's is Ulong. Two tribes living together on the same beach.

Angie feels odd man out because Coby didn't pick her. She isn't bonding well.Ian likes the fact that Koror is older. We are off to challenge beach for reward and immunity. It is a jungle obsticle coarse. The winner will get rice, flint and other items. They only win the items they can carry to the mat at the end. A new immunity idol is shown...monkey with a necklace looking thing. First thing is the tires and Tom just sails through em! Then they have this mesh type maze. Ulong through the maze first. More tires to bo over/under. They have to dig their items out of a pit. Koror wants fire and they are off! Ulong is still trying to get stuff. Ulong is arguing over when to go forward. Koror is way ahead and they have to up over a wall. Ulong is now catching up as they brought food and water with no fire. Koror is over the wall and into the swamp. Koror has made it to their canoe where they have to paddle out and get their flag. Ulong has now reached their canoe. Koror is way ahead though. Koror gets their falg and now head back to shore. Ulong can't paddle and are totally off course. Koror wins the challenge! Ulong is frustrated and are throwing their paddles. Ulong will vote someone off at the TC tonight. Jiffy informs Koror they can pick which island they want to take. The one they stayed at lastnight or go to a new island. The choose the new island. Ulong will go to the one with the shelter already built!

angie: hurts being last. I thought 100% coby would pick me. I don't feel like I'm on the tribe I should be on.Ian: we got some of the older folks, which I like. I wanted a wise tribe. they have a bunch of young bucks.
Ibrahem: I don't care what you say about smarts, athletics is going to play a part also. Challenge: both reward and immunity. Jungle obstacle course. net maze, tires, supply dump--choose items to take through course. untie them, carry them up and over wall, to boat, out to flag. twist: You can only keep items you take with you--you want to have lots of items, but you also want to win. the more you take, the harder going it will be. Tom in lead for Koror, Jeff for Ulong., Ian, Jenn. Koror slightly ahead, then U catches up. Ulong first done with net. Ulong first untying. Koror close. Decision time: which time to take. Koror takes only fire with them, leaves food and water. U is arguing over what to take. Jolanda wants to take more, Steph arguing they should go. K is at wall, U behind. K having trouble getting Willard over. U brought food and water, but not fire. K has a big lead heading into the swamp, U finally over wall. K is in canoe, paddling out. they have big lead, U has to paddle hard. K has flag. U is pathetic, canoe going the wrong way. LOL: Jeff says U must be looking for another island. U is frustrated; jeff slams paddle against water. Koror wins immunity, reward. they celebrate, while U looks very pissed. Jeff: nice strategy to only bring fire. Here's immunity; you're safe tonight. you also get a choice--you can either go back to old shelter, or go to new beach. they decide to go for the unknown. Ulong goes back to their old beach. they'll get more practice paddling on their way to tribal council.

Jeff says they just messed up and that they should not have tried to get everything during the challenge. James says it was a dumbass move to not get fire. Jolanda says that someone needs to make decisions and that she wants to help lead but she has a strong personality. Angie feels ver vulnerable because of being picked last during the pick 'em. Time to vote... Jolanda votes first and votes Angie.

mood shot: paddlingKatie: after the challenge, we were so excited. winning was huge, since we were the underdog. Wave came, but we went over. supplies to make fire were in heavy steel container, suddenly at the bottom of ocean.
Tom: we lost everything we won today, we're in a worse scenario than we were originally Angie: We lost the challenge, we were out witted. They played smart. I'm not the strongest person; people will choose whoever they think is the weak link, so I know I'm a target.
Jolanda: My vote will be for angie; she's a person who must be voted off for our team to be strongest. We can't lose any of our guys.
She talks with Stephenie about voting angie. Stephenie thinks Jolanda is reason they lost challenge. BJ isn't convinced, because Jolanda has a lot of strength. Jolanda tells people to rest for an hour after two hours of work. Ashlee doesn't feel like J is a team player.
angie: I remember the order we were picked. I don't trust anyone, but if I get past this one, I'll be happy. Tribal council: typical fire speech from Jiff.(side note, this set looks pretty crappy, I must say. I've seen better.) What's been biggest surprise? Steph--opening of game, couldn't get water
James: this is demm fine tribe. we're going to win some challenges, just not today.

Jo:it was the last thing, we just couldn't get it.

Angie: It's hard being picked last. My head is on the chopping block; either somebody has something else in mind, or it's overwhelmingly going to be me. Time to vote: Jo--votes Angie. I agree it was great ep. I can't wait to re-watch it. Last season I found the first part boring with the tribal stuff that took up so much time with the pole climbing, etc. But they really should have made this 2 hours.

The other eight did not have to go along with Tom on the new beach idea. If they did not want to change, definitely at the beginning, majority usually rules. Same thing in Jolanda's case, if they did not want to do it, then why didn't they just get the water and the food and go on down the path. I can assure you if they had, then they could have grabbed what they want quicker. Her butt would have followed.
Yes, Jolanda has a "strong" personality. She is a little bossy.
She also was the strongest woman there and they just voted some of their strength and definitely their competitiveness off. I have one word for "Ulong" .....................STUPID.
And the "Love is in the air" Jeff and Kim. Trying to be the next Romber. I don't think it is going to work this time around. Was a good first episode. But as Jeff said, it is about choices and consequences. Ulong is not thinking as a whole with tribe spirit, but more like all the youth is sharing a brain.
Tom should share the blame with every other member of Koror for choosing the new beach camp. They could have objected. It was their choice. He is one of their stronger players.
