Whether or not Bill is the mole, my guess is the producers/Kathyrn were trying to draw the players' suspicions to Bill. Whether or not their ploys are red herrings remain to be seen. IMHO, Bill wasn't the last one to leave the table. I remember seeing someone's journal on the table as Bill was shown getting up from the table. The journal wasn't Bill's because I saw Bill grab his journal as he left the table. So...someone was still going to come back to the table to retrieve their journal. So IMHO Bill was selected intentionally for the neutralization task.
