BriarRosie 990 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Fitness Correspondent" 01-29-04, 01:59 PM (EST) "Ryan M(otormouth)" Show of hands, please.... Who else was completely surprised that Ryan Motormouth got the rose from Meredith? He's cute and all, but damn, let the poor woman speak! (My favorite thing: Ryan proclaimed that he wanted to get to know Meredith better, but he continued to blather on. How is that getting to know her?) On the other hand, all this time I thought Todd was the one from that date she liked. I found him to be funny and endearing. A man that can make *me* laugh.....a keeper. I totally thought that when she said she had decided one of the two people from that date was getting a rose that it was Todd. Perhaps wishful thinking on my part. I cannot for the life of me understand how she could so easily choose Ryan M. He clearly looked underwhelmed by his constant blathering. Being the kind of gal she is, I thought she like Todd's dry humor and easygoing manner. Maybe she knows something we don't. Oh well.   Top

International Man of Mystery. <snicker> That would be an interesting angle, for her to use Ryan to get the dirt on the other men. I was absolutely certain I could figure out who Meredith wanted to dump after I saw the 15 to 10 rose episode. I was on the same page with Meredith when Hockey Harold was the Bachelorette's version of Mamma Mia!...er....Mary. You just don't go for the "I want LOTS of babies!" thing with someone you just met! That's the sure fire way to have them head for the hills! Hmm, might not be a bad way to scare guys that come on too strong. "I can picture you as the father of my children..." "RE: Ryan M(otormouth)" I'm new here as well, although I've watched the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows for a while. I was surprised that she kept Ryan M but not that surprised that she let Todd go. I think that while she found him amusing, there was no real spark there between them - I didn't see any sign that she found him attractive. Also, did anyone else notice that when he was on the 2-1 date with Ryan and Meredith, he kept making little digs at Ryan? I think it was just part of his sarcastic manner, but they did show Meredith sort of slapping at him after one of the comments. I'm guessing there were more comments that we didn't hear - she may not have cared for that behavior at all.   Top

I was shocked at Ryan being kept and Todd being tossed, but Firelilly, I agree totally with your assessment. Meredith didn't care for the constant bad-mouthing. I don't think these producers are telling Meredith what to do. I think she may be telling them what she wants to do. Dragging the show out? No, I don't think so. What I'd like to see is for her to suddenly reduce the group to 2, for two weeks' worth of show, the overnight-fantasy date and the final show. I'd rather see the finale show NOT be 2 hours long, and one of those hours be used here, when there are a bunch of guys she likes the look of, with whom she'd like to be alone and in groups, to get a better sense of each one. What's been wrong is the relentless cutting of men, without seeing the why of it. Now that I think about it, it's funny that next previews showed Meredith rolling her eyes to Chad/Brad over Ryan M's chatty cathy ways. That would give Mere a bit in common with Todd wouldn't it? I think the 90 minute episode coming up wil be interesting if Ryan spies on the group for her, thinking he's earning a final four spot but he's not. She's just using him to gather intelligence! I mean, ideally she would have the opportunity to experience alone-dates with all the guys she has interest in, and not have to eliminate someone with whom she hasn't had enough interaction to be able to say definitively that she wouldn't want to go further with him. Like, right now, I reckon she could dump Sean easily, as well as Ryan M. When she gave him his rose, Sean stood there like a lump of coal. He's out next for sure. Ryan M. is still here because she needs more info to work out which of some of the other guys to take to the Finals. Would she want to meet his family? Maybe, if she has to include him. But if she gets the producers to agree to only cutting one man next week, then they'll have to agree to a shorter finale, and if she's only got 2 guys for the last two "events," then that would be doable. Me guessing, is all this is. But Mere is proving to be a formidable contestant. If it goes down to 6, then Sean would go, no doubt. If it then goes from 6 to 4 guys, I'd see Ian, Lanny, Matt, Brad/Chad getting those roses. But, maybe both Brad & Chad will seem useless and she'll decide to meet Ryan M's family like it's a sociological experiment - how did this guy turn out like this?
