"Bachelorette"
Anyone watch this? I caught the last half hour or so of it, my first time watching any of the Bachelor shows, and it actually wasn't too bad.....and watching it opened my eyes to how huge of a rip-off Joe Millionaire is.....I don't like remember any names or anything, but I liked the cowboy, basketball player, football player, and "comedian"......I'm sure I'll keep tuning in since there is nothing else on.

Hi ejm92, I saw the last 20 minutes or so of this show, too!

SherpaDave has a thread looking for summary writers for this show, ejm. If you're going to watch, you might want to sign up for one of the remaining spots.

On the show, it was funny at the end, when the camera panned over the guys who didn't receive a rose boutonniere - one guy looked like he was ready to kill somebody. Good thing she didn't pick him!

I hope ABC did a really good screening on these guys. I agree that one guy looked like he was going to do some violence because he didn't get a rose.

It was actually kind of even more interesting then the Bachelor, cause most of these guys came to meet Trista. They think they already know her cause they watched her on the first Bachelor, where in the Bachelor the girls don't know the guy right off the bat.

That's what adds a stalker quality to this show, particularly with Russ. Several of these guys are convinced that they know her and are her perfect mate. Creepy.

I agree. It adds a new dynamic - the fact that all of them have already decided that they're into her. But I personally would not want to choose from 25 guys who are all pathetic enough not only to have watched the Bachelor in the first place (no offense to any of you or to myself) but actually WRITE IN saying, "I'm in love with that Trista chick, can I get her number?" It kind of takes the challenge out of the dating game and I can see her getting a little bored atleast - if not totally creeped out.

i watched the whole thing and I must admit it wasn't too bad. From the previews for the remaining shows it looks like the guys are going to be just as catty and bitchy as the girls were LOL. I questioned some of the decisions she made, but hey she isn't me. Its gonna be fun to watch!

I actually watched the show, also. Those who only caught the last 20 minutes are so did themselves a service. Most of the first half was watching guys get out of the limo, tell Trista how nice she looked, then they walk inside.

With 25 guys, it got pretty redundant. Unfortunately, this is an unavoidable nature of the beast. The last guy got a good laugh by coming up and saying "I have some great news! I'm the last one!" Trista broke out laughing. Gosh, how long did that take to film?? The poor girl must have been exhausted.. then she had to go in and meet all the guys and decide which 15 to keep.

I agree with the comments of those above, that a few of those guys looked dangerously unhappy to have lost.

Also, they had some focused in shots of guys... and it seems they would re-show those again and again... ditto some shots of Trista.

I'm sure it'll get a little better now that this first exercise in slowness is done with.

I've never watched any of the Bachelors either, but I did enjoy last night's show. I will say that I am glad that she did not choose the Breast Implant guy. He was creepy and I think he could have found a better suit to wear on national television. Last night was not the time to buy an off the rack suit.

I was sooooo glad to see him leave as well, but not because of his suit, but his moronic comments comparing women to cars. Little wonder that he is still single in his 40's!

I caught a little of this show (along with bits and pieces of the Bachelor 1 & 2) and I thought it was pretty bad. How sad it to watch guys embarrass themselves over someone they don't even know? Does anyone have enough dignity to, at the very least, act like an adult? I see no entertainment value in watching this show. I hope that "Joe Millionaire" does enough damage that this genre of reality t.v. will quickly be put to an end.

Plus, this chick isn't that hot (looks like 39 instead of 29 to me) and said on "The View" that she slept with some of the guys in order to "get to know them" better. WOW!!! She is quite a catch!! I don't remember Aaron or Alex ever saying they slept with some of the girls on national t.v.. I hope the place she works at finds a way to fire her or she quits after the show is over. I wouldn't want her working with my kids.

>>(Trista) said on "The View" that she slept with some of the guys in order to "get to know them" better.<<

I'm looking for an exact quote from the show ("The View"), but cannot find it anywhere on the internet. Did she say she had slept with them, or did she imply that she might have slept with one or more of the guys?

In another interview she said,"I just want to make sure the guy I end up with is the guy I should end up with. And if that means getting intimate with him behind closed doors, I will." I think that her statement was purposely ambiguous to get people guessing about what happened.
