From a prestigious family? The link above for the opinion editor is in what appears to be a HS paper from 2000. the school is a private school in washington, DC. Further delving shows she ran track at Sidwell (the HS in DC).I did a google search on this name and apparently someone by this name went to Syracuse University. I found a political book review on her site, and a another political TV book review, but her main site has nothing on it at all save her name. perhaps she has removed all info b/c she's on survivor? ~ cq

My cousin's coworker who works in a homeless shelter said she was helping a person (man or woman). Who had been homeless for several years and by themself, with no family, to get on survivor. While many of you wanted more info on this woman, I was unable to dig up anything about her or her lifestyle. At that point I thought, well... how do I expect them to believe this to be a contestant if I don't have any solid proof? Well... I was reading our town paper yesterday titled: 'THE LAKE STEVENS JOURNAL,' and I came across the following article: SURVIVOR LAKE STEVENS? Is one of the next Survivor contestants from Lake Stevens? That's what staff at the Lake Stevens Journal are wondering, after receiving a phone call last week from a CBS television executive working for the show. The popular reality challenge series is now filming in its ninth season in Vanuatu, a group of 80 islands in the South Pacific. The new season of Survivor: Vanuatu is set to air in September. So far there's no word on the identities of the 16 contestants. Last week the Lake Stevens Journal recieved a call from a CBS executive, asking permission to use a copy of the Journal newspaper as a "reward" on the show. "All I can assume is that someone from your area is a contestant," said CBS's Beth Ungerstalk Camp. "They've asked me to clear 30 papers and yours is one of them."

This story has got me hooked. When I first heard about this on sucks I about died. See, I was raised in Lake Stevens. I went to Lake Stevens High School, Junior High, MiddleSchool and 3 of their elementaries.(Sunnycrest, Hillcrest and Mt.Pilchuck) My mother has worked in Lake Stevens as a school district administrator. She has since gone on to work in neighboring school districts. My step-mother works as a school bus transportation administrator for the Snohomish School district. A neighboring town. She and My father live in a house not 1/2 a mile from the Lake Stevens/Granite Falls Bus-Barn. When I heard that "Kay" worked for the schoolbus-barn in my hometown, I knew I mighta had a couple on "in"s.
I immediately contacted my step-mother who said the name was not familiar to her yet she would contact "Peggy", who is the main administrator at the LakeStevens/GraniteFalls BusBarn. And ask if she had a "Kay" working for her.
I also contacted my mom to see if she could get ahold of an employee listing. She said she'd be up to the task. But also mentioned that she was in between districts at the moment and might run into some snags / time delays. I hope to hear back from them both soon.
I don't think I know her, yet I'm much less than 6 degrees away.

The information I have is minimal (i.e., I don't have a name or anyother identifying information) but I just thought I'd put it out there and see if any of you sleuths could find anything. The local news station (WHO TV of Des Moines, Iowa) recently ran a report of much the same kind here. They said that the Des Moines register had been contacted and were asked for a copy of their paper for use in a Survivor challange. No other information was given. Speculation is of course that one of the next Survivors is from Iowa. Anyone have an idea of who that could be?

In the People category he has photos of some of the identified contestants. The John Kenney photo has a question mark on it. There are two photos of males at the bottom with question marks and no names. Not sure if this means they may or may not be contestants, or if it means they are contestants whom no one has identified yet. ETA: Since he labeled the picture "John K", methinks there must be another John in the cast. And the three-across layout suggests there will be 18 photos eventually.

Here is another Chris Daugherty that showed up on google here but somehow I doubt it.Then there is this Chris Daugherty who graduated from Kent School in 2000 and would make him 21 years old (2nd from left in pic) here There are a several other Chris Daugherty's including one I found in California and West Virginia. I think Snews just hasn't confirmed using his 3 sources yet so doesn't have/ or want to post a pic until then.
