Hello everyone, specially Camille velasco supporters. I have come across a post from a Camille non believer but has had a change of heart. Here's why... Read on>>

For the last couple of weeks, Camile was the easiest target in terms of who I thought should go. I think a lot of that goes way back to her winning the week 2 competition with Matt Rogers coming in 2nd. I didn't particularly like either one of them, and feel that they would not have fared so well in any of the other 3 groups. I also got caught up with the whole Hawaii thing, so I've had some biases going against her for quite a while now.
Most of my criticisms though have come from her looking uncomfortable and/or unhappy onstage. But this week, was a lot different. She seemed happy to be there, and genuinely enjoyed herself. After the show was over, I thought she was about # 6 of 10, but after seeing that 95% of the board had her ranked 9th or 10th, I decided to rewatch the tape. And again, I came to the conclusion that she's not that bad, in fact, she's been improving each week, even if it is somewhat slowly.
I then LISTENED to her mp3's today and realized that for the first time since maybe 1995 I actually liked a female R&B singer's voice. Before then that's all I listened to, but after Mariah Carey & Mary J. Blige stopped doing what made them likeable, I switched over to Rock and have stayed there since. But there's something about the way she sang "One Last Cry" that has stuck with me. It reminds me of when I used to listen to Mariah for hours on end and just enjoy her voice for some reason. And maybe, just maybe that's what this competition is supposed to be about. I still think Camile can improve as a performer, but as a singer, she does have something special. I just didn't notice it before, or maybe more precisely, I didn't want to, but this is my longwinded way of saying that I was wrong.
I'm glad she'll have at least one more shot at this competition. I still don't think she can win, but I'd most likely buy an album if she put one out, and I don't know that I can say that about anyone left in the final 9. Yes, I root for LaToya & George, but I don't know if I'd be willing to listen to 45 minutes of their work. I don't know what else to say, except that it would be nice if people gave everyone a fair shot at some point. It might surprise you to see who leaves the most lasting impression that way.
On the off chance Camile ever sees this message, I hope that it gives you some extra confidence to keep sharing your music, regardless of what people might say. God bless you, and keep your head up.

"One Last Cry" is the only song that I think she sounded good on, and I haven't enjoyed any other songs that she has done.

You know, when conducted appropriately, threadjacking should bring rewards. Elimination of newbie status seems like a good start. Flogging the offending party (the one who started the nonsensical duplicate thread) with a wet noodle seems like another benefit. Using big words such as "nonsensical" should also count for something. Any other suggestions?

We could have give thread-jackers bonus DAW points for taking inane threads and turning them into something worthwhile and fun, such as this thread, which has become the highlight of my day. (A sad existence, I know!)
