Sure, I'll oblige. 12. Philippines
This season has a pretty likable cast overall, but is somewhat marred by Tandang's complete pre-merge dominance. Then it just turned into a fairly standard, "Misfits band together" kind of outcome that we saw in Marquesas and Cook Islands already.
The editing was really obvious too.
13. South Pacific
I'm a pretty big apologist for this season... But even I have problems with it. My biggest complaint is, basically, I feel like the season was setup so Ozzy could win. The fact that he didn't, and the script was flipped, fills me with delight (what a terrible game he played!)... But doing Redemption Island with Ozzy on the show seemed a little too setup.
Also, a really predictable post-merge. I like the internal jockeying that Sophie did to stay in control afterwards (mostly due to Albert), but yeah. Pretty boring Pagonging.
14. Guatemala
This one probably doesn't fall into this category of "flawed". I just find it a little bland. Some memorable characters, but I don't recall any real interesting blindsides ever this season. Or at least, blindsides I didn't see coming.
15. Panama: Exile Island
Fairly boring Pagonging post-merge, with the exception of an IC holdout. The Crazy Casaya thing was definitely a highlight, but the characters grated on me. Probably my least favorite Final 3 ever, as well.
16. All-Stars
I just still really hate how this one went down, game-wise. It had lots of likable people, sure. But I really dislike the brain-dead strategy these supposed All-Stars went with. From voting off the winners first (wow, real clever and not bitter) to how iconically stupid everyone was post-merge for never turning on Romber. They should thank their lucky stars that Rupert and Jenna have no idea what they're doing.
17. Heroes vs Villains
This season is like Samoa, in that it's basically professional wrestling. Survivor already is basically pro wrestling, but this season, they really rubbed it in your face. I admit I still do enjoy this season immensely for what a trainwreck of strategy it became (with a fitting Sandra win), but I call B.S. on the producers too.
18. Samoa
Same as above, with the pro wrestling motif. Loses points versus HvV because it deified Russell more. Galu was waaaaaaay too invisible as well to be taken seriously. There is pretty much no excuse for Brett to finish 3rd and be that under-developed... Especially considering Russell didn't even win.
