PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
Have to agree with all you said about Philippines. One of the better casts (except for Zane who is one of those types that Probst inexplicably loves), a lot of stories to tell. Of the three returning players, Swan fell into the same rut as before, Penner was the same old loveable Penner but knew he was wearing a target from day 1 and really worked at the game the entire time he was in it, and Skupin switched up his game and was no longer the madman of the Outback. Malcolm and Denise were two of the best underdogs ever. Celebrity Lisa had a long hard journey. Celebrity Kent gave it a game effort but never overcame his own blindspots. Abi was annoying but somehow it worked, after awhile it was almost a game within a game wondering what she would do next.
As for Amazon, I can't say it was great, but the gender experiment was one worth trying, and the inclusion of Christy gave us an instant underdog. Some decent casting, some not so good (Roger). Rob C. demonstrated a vital element of how to play Survivor, you have to make the best of the hand you are dealt, and constantly kept his head in the game. Rob C. pairing up early with Matthew -- who by his own admission had no idea how to play the game and mainly was there for the adventure, but was willing to try to learn the game -- was the vital decision that made the Cesternino game possible. And we had Dave the rocket scientist! Unfortunately, when it reached the jury formation stage, four interesting people went to the jury in a row, leaving only Rob and follower Matthew and follower Butch and hanger-on Heidi and hanger-on Jenna, so the end of the season went into a tailspin.
