But what Ami would or wouldn't have done is immaterial to the decisions Chet made from his own perspective.
If you read the vote thread you'll see I (jokingly) came up with a scenario in which Colton was an even bigger wimp.
But, yes, I am aware that it turned out to be a bacterial infection rather than appendicitis. But every medical issue is distinct, it is really unfair to compare fast-acting bacteria resistant to drugs to a slow-acting parasite to an inflamed appendix to an infected heel, and so on.
I'm still not liking Colton anyway, in his interviews he's trying to come off as someone different from what he was in Survivor, yet some of what he says really does not jibe with what happened, he's engaging in retroactive revisionism.
