Amber has dropped her Chapera buff and is selecting a new buff. If this was a merge they would all get the same color and their would be no need to select from the urn. Amber: I feel like I'm the one who got screwed in this whole situation. Amber would not feel screwed if the situation she describes is a traditional merge... It appears that some king of shuffle or swap that takes place. Perhaps the tribes will be reshuffled into two new tribes of 5. They may even live together on Saboga, but it seems obvious that Amber gets seperated from Rob and the perhaps the rest of her tribe. Krautboy   Top

For the past couple of weeks I believed the Colby-ethan-jerri series of boots but now we have this whole amber in danger situation. Well I think that she really might be in danger I mean she has given an unusual lot of airtime for the past week. But the thing is she’s still thumps up in snewsers list. Each tribe was given their team color. Maybe they are to bring the paint with them and after they get their news buffs are to paint themselves and Chapera jumped the gun and might of read the tree mail wrong or read too much into the mail. As mentioned by DB above, maybe just Chapera has to draw for the one new green buff. But now that I think about that, why would Jeff have all of then drop their buffs if only one was having to go over to Mogo Mogo. It seems like maybe everyone will be drawing for new buffs. It also seems like Amber and Rob will be split up by her comments. I bet she becomes a Mogo Mogo and will no longer have her personal warming blankie   Top

They each had a different shade and then matched up with their coordinating red/blue/gold/etc. for a little get-to-know-you chat before their fake merge. If they split them again would they split them 5/5 or 6/4? And is this split for one week and then a merge?   Top

"Body paint" LAST EDITED ON 03-18-04 AT 10:14 AM (EST) Trying to figure out a rationale for the paint - Are all the other Chaperas wearing body paint besides Amber and Jenna? In pic#24 it looks like Rob has some red wings (?) painted on his chest. But the others I can't tell. In #16 and #17 most everyone else is almost hidden, but it looks like there might be traces of red paint on Alicia's buff torso. Rupert is pretty much hidden. Tom is out of focus just enough so I can't make out if the red streak on his chest is paint. I hope someone who can blow up the photos or lighten them can do some clearer shots for us. In #26 which is Amber at the time she made her "I'm the one who is screwed" remark (I think) her body paint is gone. So she didn't say it immediately after she drew whatever she is taking out of the urn. The editing makes it appear that that's what she's referring to, but is that true or misdirection again? The only closeup of Mogos at this challenge is #20 showing Shii and Jerri with no paint. The other Mogo shot is too dark to tell. It looks like the Chappies got red and the Mogos got green paint, obviously their tribe colors. But what's it for? Why would not all the players be painted? If only Amber and Jerri are painted, maybe those two had to pick something out of the urn to determine which one got moved to the other tribe, and Amber won (lost)? Or maybe the tribes were told to paint something else and they just used the extra paint on Jerri and Amber, just for fun? I can't see if there's anything else there that both tribes might have painted. Anyone have pics that might give us a clue?   Top

Maybe a last show of team unity as they all expect the merge and have to move out of their existing camps. Kathy and Shii are shown with a brush and tub o' paint in one of 'em. Chapera will paint themselves up cuz they're just that kinda tribe that wears their unity on their sleeves. It's the whole tribal paint unity crap that started at Pagong all those many years ago. "Its Rob, NOT Amber that ends up on Mogo Mogo" > - 19 > - 25 Rob definitely ends up on MogoMogo! Just take a look at the photos above. First we have Rob stading on the mat before the switch. Notice two things, first of all notice that he is wearing his buff around his neck. Also, as others have pointed out, notice that he is standing to our left of the Chapera flag. Now, notice the pic of Rob where he is standing to our right of the Chapera flag. Where is his buff? It isn't around his neck so this has to be AFTER the switch. Now, how do I know that he is on Mogo? Look at the pic of Jerri and Shis standing on the mat. In this pic it is clearly before the switch. For one, its obviously a close up of the other photo of all the tribes arriving on the mats. Also, if if were after the switch I dont' think they would put their buffs back around their waist. It seems like that takes a little time and effort, to squeeze that buff around the waist. So, it has to be before the switch. Also, on a different site you can see a part of the red flag in the background in this same scene...the red flag in the background is clearly the edge of the Chapera flag blowing in the wind and making its way into the MM photo. Now, take that into account and the pic of Rob not wearing a buff is most likely with him standing on the MM mat with the same Chapera flag blowing in teh wind. Also, the sound bite of Amber saying that she is the one that got screwed in this deal. Well, if she was switched to MM then it would be obvious that she got screwed in the deal so there would be no need to say anything. However, if it was Rob who was switched then Amber could easily make the comment in the context of "sure I"m still on Chapera but my closest ally is on MM and now I feel that I'm the one who got screwed in the deal"   Top

Almost...but I don't think so. The "point" on the elbow looks too severe for Shii Ann's hat, which is more rounded on top, and I think we'd see part of the brim, as the measurement of the hat's top should be a bit shorter than what's exposed in the picture. And there are bumps that look like the bumps on Tom's arm. But it was an excellent suggestion!   Top

The right color, texture (darker and bumpier than Jerri's) etc. She's either tipping her head up or has the hat tilted back on her head. The strange angle makes it look like an arm, which is what I initially thought it was as well. I totally agree with Shake's analysis - Rob has switched mats, he's standing on the back corner of Mogo's area, closest to the Chapera side. Boo on the line   Top

"RE: You made me look..." you made me look too, so I went back and analyzed.... the shot where chappy is walking to the mat, has amber and jenna in front, both the same height and rob slightly behind, also close to the same height.....the shot on the mat, shows jenna standing closest to shi-ann, and height comparison shows shi-ann the same or slightly taller, meaning that even if she was next to rob there is no way her hat could be at his shoulder level it would be MUCH higher.. In addition, looking at the mat shot again, tom is standing right next to rob, and in that shot his elbow comes about to where it is in the shot we are trying to analyze. So...I don't think it's shi-ann's hat. But excellent coversation topic..really got me thinking. thanks   Top

One question, In that last picture, whose hairy elbow is just to the right of Rob? It looks awfully hairy for a female, though being blond hair it could be Kathy. Sunlight might make the arm look hairier (?) than it is. Edited to add - looks like BR and abba are thinking the same as me only they got there first.   Top

But, these people probably assume a habitual stance at these listening-to-Jiffy sessions -- there isn't much room to move around on the mats, so they probably stand pretty much the same way all the time. So it's very possible, imo, that Rob and Tom are on the Mogo Mogo mat in the close-up shot, taking their habitual stances. If Rupert planted the Chapera flag and it wasn't moved, this is the only possibility. Either that or they're still in the same place on Chapera's mat, imo, and the flag got moved. As Shakes said, Rob may have moved forward on the mat, but if so, then he and Tom moved forward the identical distance, keeping the same distance between them, which seems implausible if everyone's shifting around. And we don't see anyone standing behind them. Anyway, as you say we have plenty of time to mull it over. For now, we can agree that Ramber will be split up.   Top

"More on Mitch" I read it in another post about the relationships Mitch has, but this theory I describe below may have been from another poster. If Lex and Rob were good friends, they could have hatched an excellent plan to succeed as a F2 pair if on other tribes. Their plan would be to vote off the most conniving and/or strongest challenge players. Which explains why Lex is planning the downfall of MM, and why Rob M got rid of Rob C (instead of Alicia, who he obviously hates). It wouldn't matter that Lex appeared to be a threat to the dominant tribe, because Lex and Rob are partners, and they would pair up (with their strongest alliance partners Amber, Kathy, Jenna?) and pick off the remaining players as they see fit (assuming they use the same ideas of eliminating based on a threat). Plus they surrounded themselves with women, which should ensure one of the men winning the final immunity (usually strength and endurance) and taking the other man with him. So, just a theory FWIW!   Top

I havent seen it mentioned here to any degree but I have to conclude that as confident as the Robfadda has been (notwithstanding his natural arrogance) that Big Tom has been in the alliance with him and Ambuh from the beginning. Think on how many yuks they have shared at the other contestants and how many side conversations you have seen between them (yet no confessional admissions-playing into the alliance revealed does not work out theories). If Im correct on this, then if both Rob and Big Tom go to Mogo Mogo it prefectly sets up Ambers confessional because she has had her whole core alliance moved to the other tribe and she would have to rely on the tenuous alliance she and Rob (I assume they did not reveal BT is in with them) made with Jenna and Rupert when they came into Chapera. What most intrigues me is any scenario in which the Robfadda retains a controlling block in one tribe while Ambuh is in the other. Would he tank an IC and get rid of one of his tangental allies or a newcomer in his tribe (e.g. Jerri) to prevent the possibility of his new girl getting dumped in the other tribe?   Top

EP10 they are re-picking buffs, but not merging. If they merge the following week with 9 players, even if a woman was voted off, they still have the dominate number. IF the women are wise this time (unlike on the PI, it was frustrating to watch Christa and Sandra make deals with Burton and Johnny when they could've just voted them off!), they will allign together and vote the guys off IMMEDIATELY! It's there only chance against these strong guys when it comes to individual challenges.   Top

Instead of the elbow postioned with the hand on the hip, maybe the person's hand is up in the hair (like resting on their head, or putting on a new buff) This would make the person SHORTER than Rob, most likely female. About the whole swap thing... I am almost certain that it will be a 6-4 swap, Chapera still dominating. It has always been done this way, and if they evened the tribes 5-5, this would be punishing the better team and rewarding the losers. About Amber's comment... I will not be too quick to assume she is referring to a post swap situation. It is highly likely, but I am not 100% convinced. The previews for last weeks episode showed Ethan saying "Everything was going smoothly, then boom." I assumed it had something to do with sending a person to the opposite side, bu it actually was said in the beginning of the episode about Colby getting booted.   Top

Specifically, it looks like a "gar-type" fish, or a ballyhoo(which is a fish used as marlin bait when going deep sea fishing). It is a long thin silvery fish with a bill at the end of its head. "Previous Stances and Backgrounds" Episode 8 Episode 6 - note the flag All from Episode 6, just showing Tom in several different positions with his hands on his hips. Rob's positions change more often, but crossing his arms seems to be a common one, and it's body language that would suit Rob's personality. It's a threatenning stance that is at the same time mainly centred on protecting yourself. Note the close ups on Tom's arm - I think we can safely say that it's his arm and not a hat in those other pictures. Now...On the other hand... Compare the backdrop of this or this one, with a slight bit of rock at the top with this shot of Jerri and Shiann with the red flag waving. It is still possible that the camera is simply from another angle looking out to see rather than towards land, but it makes me wonder... My gut, however, is telling me that Tom and Rob ended up on Mogo Mogo. I also wonder if Rob got Rupert *without* the Hawaiian sling again, but that's a thought to bring over to the foreshadowing thread...   Top

Clearly seen in the background in the pic of Shi and Jerri. The red flag, held by Rupert is blowing hard, can be seen in that pic. Looks like they are listening to JP explain stuff. So far the flag has moved twice. I think it moves again. The pics of Rob shows alot more water, no sand, the rocks are at the top. Which could tell us that he's now on MM. But IMHO he's still on Chappy. We see the right side of Robs face while he's watching ppl pick, so the camera man is standing on that side of him, or slightly to his front. Look at pic 19, notice the sand and water backdrop. For the pics of Rob, the camera man would be kinda next to Rob and Alicia, shooting into their faces. Now if Rob was on MM, being closest to Chappy's flag, the camera placing between, somewhat infront the MM & Chappy mats,to get the right side of his face - we would see tons of sand in Robs pics. I dunno...does that make any sense, kinda hard to explain. =)   Top

Therefore IMHO, Rob is still awating his turn, or stays on Chappy with Tom. Is this what you were trying to convey Brat? By the way, I don't know if I have a different computer display than others (I'm on a lap top), but it is DEFINATELY Tom's elbow in vid caps 24 and 25. You can see detail of the inside of the elbow wrinkeling (sp?) as it bends, and light arm hair.   Top

It's probably not Jerri, since she and Amber were allies in Outback. This situation would HELP Amber. I can't see Lex being a threat, if his two "friends" (Tom and Rob) are on the other side now. It will probably be Shii-Ann and Kathy that go to Chapera. Kathy is already accepted by Chapera and will easily allign with people. Of course she will bring Shii-Ann into her new alliance. If she hooks up with any body other than Amber at this point, Amber could be "screwed."   Top
