"Pre-jury boots: Argentina vs. Mexico?"
Snewser's New Year's greeting from "Richard Hatch" has this message:

You are probably wondering how many sting rays I bagged. Or whether it was I who got harpooned. Suffice it to say, All Stars show is going to be as awesome as my trip to Argentina. The Mexico City group got screwed...

The Wingedmonkeys article says:

Booted players were sent to Perico however the prejury booted players were shipped out outside of Panama before the jury boots got to Perico. Forget about ghost tribes though as bootees were very well fed after being booted.

and

(Jenna M.) eventually quit on or around Day 8 (Nov. 10th) and was allowed to go home right away.

and

The jury will be made up of 7 players.

Putting all this together, we get:
1) There are nine pre-jury exits.
2) The pre-jurors apparently were sent to two different locations: one group went to Argentina, the other to Mexico.
3) Jenna was not in either group as she came back home right after her early departure. So there were eight travellers in all.

The wingedmonkeys point out that all the pre-jury boots were removed from Isla Perico before the jury got there, but that doesn't seem particularly noteworthy. Could it be they were removed in groups?

We have four people apparently visiting Argentina: Richard, along with Rudy, Rob C and Tina, according to the Colleenlover spoiler. Were these people voted off consecutively and then shipped off to Argentina? Then another consecutive four boots was shipped off to Mexico? If so, which group went first?

Or did all eight pre-jurors hang out at Isla Perico until jury selection began, to be randomly assigned, or asked to choose, a trip to Mexico or Argentina?

Just musing on how all this info might assist in determining boot order.

1. "RE: Pre-jury boots: Argentina vs. Mexico?"

I'm wondering if they did have a choice: stay in the game or take this trip to Argentina. Given that they were stranded w/o any food this time, the previous winners: Tina and Rich might have looked at each other and raced to take it. Rudy decided he hated everyone including sand and bugs. That leaves Rob C, who gets the real boot and has no choice.

Ok, so this is far fetched, but I remember reading a long time ago that MB planted extras posing as contestants that would feed him the strategies that were being hatched (no pun intended, well maybe a little intention). I also read that each tribe spent a whole week with each other before the game started.
These two facts kinda support each other, but don't necessarily totally support my Argentina trip theory (but could).

Great observations BR, as always...

It would seem that MB would want to get prejury boots out of Panama ASAP, because as All Stars they would be much more recognizable, and with all the "spys" the spoiler community had down there during S7, I'm sure he didn't want to take any chances.

If MB's objective was to get them away from Panama quickly, there would be no reason to have all eight pre-jury boots wait around until they were all assembled.

It therefore makes sense that the first four boots went to one location and the second four to the other.

We might take it a step further and surmise that if the first boot is Rich, Rob C., Rudy, or Tina, then the other three will most likely follow...if, on the other hand, the first boot is someone other than a member of the Patagonia group, we might then conclude that the "Patagonian 4" are safe until the 5th boot episode...

EP1 should be very interesting...

My thoughts too, KB, since I suspect that MB didn't wait around to whisk the first group out of Panama.

4. "RE: Pre-jury boots: Argentina vs. Mexico?"
Excellent deductions BR.
You cease to amaze me.

I also agree with KB's deductions. That, if either Rich, Rudy or Rob6 get booted Ep1., that would signify the first few boots get a quick trip out of Panama to the highlands of Argentina.
Thusly, if Colby, Lex or Ethan get booted first. The first group would consist of Mexico City boots.

I tend to believe the first few boots are the "Argentinian Contingency". Without Jenna6, (read:Rich, Rudy, Tina and Rob6)
With the remaining, pre-jury boots as the "MexicoCity Eventuality". (read:4, which 4 is still up for debate)

But you can call me tribe. S7ABCABP Winner

I totally agree, we must remember these are the ultimate Survivor DAW's playing this time. They know you do not get rid of the challenge strong, Colby or Ethan early in the team portion of the game. They go near the merge or first after the merge. Also these DAW's do not want to be known by their public as having axed (the sweethearts of their public) Colby or Ethan in the first couple of episodes. That honor would be highly reserved for Richard.

Just thinking out loud here...
at the s8 reunion rupert had a scar on his arm that was new. if he is the one who got harpooned then rich would stick around until that episode at least. and if he went to argentina then he definetly didn't win or go to jury, so who does he bring down first -any suggestions? I think he would use Kathy because she is so ready to learn, colby i think he would keep because he needs strong to make it to the merge. But i don't see any of the players on his team tolerant of his nakedness at all. colby and lex are men's men. they do not want to see a naked rich AT ALL.
They have hyped rich up so much for this series that it makes me wonder why. rich and rupert are 2 of the most popular players yet lex is on the front of the tv guide article? is that relevent to anything?

I believe the harpoon reference is a joke -- i.e. rather than Rich harpooning a sting ray, did Rich get "harpooned" (voted out of the game) instead?

You could be right, heck you probaly are, but i hope i am right because that could spoil whether or not rich goes early. I can't wait for the first episode so we can get a better feel for the way it is really going to go.where is the info that says rich goes with tina, rudy and rob c?

About the TV Guide cover, there are several versions of the cover with Lex being featured on only one of them. Just saw a huge TV Guide display yesterday with, I think, three different covers featuring different players. Can't remember who on the others but I definitely noticed it as my subscription version had the Lex cover.

11. "TV Guide covers"
It looks like there's one for each tribe.

The GREEN tribe cover features Lex and Rich with Kathy, Shii Ann, Colby & Jenna M. in 4 small circles down the right side of the cover.

The YELLOW tribe cover features Jerri and Rupert with Rudy, Ethan, Tina & Jenna L. down the side.

The RED tribe cover shows Alicia's abs and Sue, and Tom, Rob C., Rob M. & Amber fill in the 4 circles on the right.

If you really want to, you can see them on the TV Guide site. http://www.tvguide.com/

It had to do with who would sell the most covers. I think they also did one villian and one "good guy" as the focus for each cover. So, you end up with Rupert & Jerri on one.

Well, Jerri and Rupert, sure--good/bad, plus they are the two best-known ex-Survivors besides Dicque.

But, well--Lex and Rich? Kathy and Colby the "good" Survivors in that group. Lex and Rich are both evil, and Lex isn't a particularly popular ASS, either (especially compared to Kathy or Colby). I don't know what they were thinking with him as a featured cover person.

Maybe controversial or interesting is a better way of looking at it. Not everyone loved Rupert but he sure was interesting. And some of us loved Lex and hated Kathy. But then, I'm one of those disappointed that Porno Brian isn't in there. I'm contrary that way. Kathy and Colby may be the "good" guys, but are not viewed by TV Guide as particularly "interesting" enough to create just the discussion we are having and that is what sells magazines.

Well... let's look at the covers.

Rich and Lex, Jerri and Rupert, Sue and Alicia. I saw it more as being done as two boys, two girls, and one mixed pairing. I think that was the original purpose. Why they didn't choose someone like Rich and Colby, who knows? But I think they purposely went for the covers with 2 men, 2 women, and a mixed cover shot.

16. "If Tina is first..."
Now that it's looking like Tina is the first boot, this thread becomes an important tool for spoiling the next two or three boots.

Tina's early departure leave us with the possibility that the next three boots are one contestant from each original tribe:

Rudy (Saboga)
Rob C. (Chapera)
Richard (Mogo-Mogo)

If we figure out which tribe goes to TC, we have our primary boot candidates predetermined for us...

I tended to think it was unlikely because then the first and second boots would have no other players to keep them company at their respective locations for six whole days. It would also require arranging for a lot more flights.

But we can't rule it out. It's also possible he sent them off in pairs, so even if two Argentina boots go first we have to be careful.

And MB would have had to make plans for 9 boots including Jenna, so her untimely departure could have caused him to alter whatever scenario was originally planned.

19. "rich?"
The original patagonia spoiler was Tina, Rudy, and Rob C. Rich was added later by the way Snewser choose to present his "greeting" message. While I dont discount that Snewser might have a source that suggests that Rich was indeed in Patagonia, I also consider it possible that he was just spicing up his greeting message (note on his scorecard he comments that tina, rudy, rob c were in patagonia but only states 'winners dont have a chance' on rich's).

All that to say Rich may not be the 4th member of the Patagonia group.

Your right ICB, Rich is the shakiest of the four. You'd think the person who recognized the others would certainly recognize Rich, arguably the best known Survivor, so the fact that he was not mentioned in the original Patagonia Spoiler should make us cautious.

I guess the main point is, if Tina goes early the Patagonia Spoiler has increased credibility and needed to be bumped for further discussion...

I'd think so too, but it's certainly plausible that Rich wasn't out horseback riding with others. My impression has been that once the players leave Loser Lodge they have some leeway in planning their activities -- they aren't compelled to do everything together. Maybe Rich just doesn't like horseback riding and made plans to do something else that day.
