The only thing about this season that I'm not disappointed with is the contestants. They may not be the best group ever on Design Star, but they aren't the worst either.

I'm very disappointed in the judges. I've always enjoyed watching these 3 on their own shows, but they seem to let their egos get in the way on this show. Finally, the routine of showing the final twos videos and pretending that they decide who is going home while they are standing there is ridiculous. They've already decided who they are going to eliminate at that point, they should show the videos and then explain why they chose one over the other.

The challenges this season are another weak spot. The white room has always been a good test of a contestants ability, but this year they threw in the twist that you were designing for one of the other contestants. All a contestant had to do was say "No, that's not what I wanted at all." and all the hard work put in was negated. Nina did this and was rewarded for her back stabbing.

The last two challenges were even worse. Take this clothing outfit/musical instrument and incorporate it into a room that is being designed by a team. Once everyone puts their own design for their item into the space, you end up with a confused design. And if the other contestants don't agree, then your part is thrown out and you have come up with another idea.

I think they need to go back to the old judges whose egos were not quite as large. The challenges should be more toward testing the individuals talents and when you do have a team challenge, it should be with a single design theme.
