You can vote this week. And know what? It wouldn't hurt you to give a shout-out to the amazing SOTS writers who make this so easy for ya. The Rules 1. Please put the name of your choice for this week's bootee IN THE SUBJECT HEADING! This is really easy. Just erase the bit where it says "Re: SurvivorBlows Tribe, It's Time to Vote!" and replace with your vote, i.e., Rupert. This makes it easier to tally votes quickly and accurately. Oh, and btw... nicknames are tougher to tally unless they're REALLY obvious without actually reading your vote. 2. Reply ONLY to this post! Curves on women are good. Curves on vote threads are bad. The first part bears repeating: I like curves on women. Y'know, I'm not sure if I've been clear enough about this. Curves on women are really great things. EXCEPTION TO RULE 2! VOTE CHANGES! Most viewers will probably think Darrah or Tijuana will be the next to go, meaning the Drakes and Outcasts are in the unexpected crowd. While they have wanted Jon to go for all these weeks now, they've come to not expect it. There are three pairs remaining in the game, Rupert and Sandra, Burton and Lillian, Christa and Jon, and two wild cards, Darrah and Tijuana, who would seem to be paired by default. For that matter Christa and Jon are paired by default, Christa is operating on the assumption that she is pretty much still a free agent as long as she remains loyal to Drake. Burton knows that Rupert wants Jon to be the next Drake to go. Rupert has promised Lillian that she will be the last Morgan standing and if possible a Drake will go before she does. This creates a solid four votes, enough to secure a boot if the other four votes are misdirected/properly engineered. Burton and Lillian engineer a "mutiny" with Tijuana, Darrah and Jon, knowing that T and D will do whatever they need to do in order to remain in the game a little while longer. Jon is a patsy, getting played for a fool, being set up for the biggest crash and burn since Nurse John in the Marquesas. That's the thing about johns doncha know. Lill's guilt gets to her and she spills the beans, though, leading to regret because she is deemed untrustworthy by the others. But the die is cast and try as desperately as he may Jon cannot alter the outcome, it should be pretty amusing actually. Can you dig that, suckah! Hey, it's a theory.   Top

"Rupert" The tribal split between Morgan and Drake didn’t last long beyond the merge. The Outcasts (Burton and Lil) voted with the Drake and Andrew was finished. Ryan followed right behind, as Tijuana and Darrah saw the writing on the wall and voted with the majority. In EP9 Tribal alliances no longer exist… Rupert, Christa and Sandra have had an alliance, although Sandra and Christa have been shown plotting for the future. This fragile alliance is all that’s left of the once powerful Drakes… Since voting to oust Rupert, Jon has become an “outcast” from Rupert’s group and has formed an alliance with the other outcasts, Burton and Lillian. Lil appears to feel some loyalty toward Burton. Tijuana and Darrah are the remnants of the Morgan tribe. They are a vulnerable “pair”, with “questionable fates”, unless they can “hatch a new plan and turn the tide in their favor”. “A trip to fetch water becomes an opportunity for one pair, with questionable fates, to hatch a new plan and turn the tide in their favor. Will their powers of persuasion work?” Based on what we saw in EP8, Tijuana and Darrah seem more likely to hatch a plan that involves Burton/Lil/Jon than Rupert/Christa/Sandra. Rupert and Christa were openly critical of their work habits. That came out during the show when Rupert suggested that he deliver uncleaned fish to the laps of Tijuana and Darrah. It also came out during TC when Christa attacked and Darrah defended herself... Tijuana and Darrah apparently choose to align themselves with Burton, Lil and Jon as we are shown these five agreeing to “stick together”… "Jeff Probst: ... while on land, the tribe plots a mutiny... Burton: The five of us *have* to stick together." We also see Sandra overhearing Burton and Jon, who are apparently plotting against the former Drakes. She reports back to Rupert and Christa… ”Betrayal! Sandra: I heard Burton and Jon talking in the bushes.” Rupert responds unhappy and suspicious about the “serious, serious change” the game is taking… ”Rupert: This stinks of rot and death” Rupert will likely confront Lillian about her intentions and Lillian must make a decision between lying or betraying her new alliance. Her eventual decision was foreshadowed last week when she told Burton she would have a hard time lying…but in the end she does… ”Jeff Probst: ... and Lill makes a decision that she regrets. Lillian: I'm such a b*tch. Lillian: cries” Lillian regrets her decision to lie to Rupert, and expresses it to Jon, who tries to comfort, doing damage control and talking her into sticking with the plan…to vote out Rupert. Immunity is Rupert’s only chance for survival. Unfortunately, the nature of the “kill or be killed” Immunity challenge will leave Rupert outnumbered and vulnerable as the alliance of five will all be aiming to keep him from winning Immunity. ”Plus an Immunity Challenge where it's kill or be killed.” Rupert's character will be softened and set up to leave the game as the contestant everyone loves. The heart to heart with his far away wife, the selfless act of giving to another, the regret others feel at voting him out… all part of having Rupert leave the game as everyone’s hero…soon to return as an AllStar… Krautboy   Top

The thing is, we've seen Jon's image softening dramatically over the past couple of episodes, just like Rupert. So in mind it's a toss-up between those two. I think what it means is while you watch this episode you will think that Rupert has saved himself, but he hasn't. I think Sandra will expose the B/L/J/T/D alliance early on. Rupert will intimidate Jon, he will bully Lil and he will have a man to man with Burton. Each will cower and swear undying loyalty, then they will vote him off.   Top

I believe MB wants the audience to invest in the return of the outcasts as an integral part of S7's storyline, and he'll set up their reboots in detail. If an outcast got rebooted this quickly, I think he'd have been showing a little more to play up the inevitability of the boot, e.g. more people complaining about how the outcasts shouldn't be there, painting Lill and Burton as bigger targets simply for that reason, etc. Instead we've seen Burton's successful reintegration into Drake; Burton and Rupert graciously trading challenge prizes; Lillian's positive experiences with her new tribemates; Lillian and Burton bonding at the RC dinner, etc. It's all been pretty upbeat so far. So I think the outcasts' plan is the one that will triumph, for this week at least. As KB points out, T and D have scant reason to favor aligning with R/C/S over B/L/J. And strategically right now, it might look attractive to ride with the "undeserving" outcasts and nuisance Jon into the final 5. Last week plans were initiated to get Rupert out and there's no reason to think they won't be stepped up this week. Alternatively, Lill is unhappy about having decided to go against Burton's instructions and this is what she's crying to Jon about. Jon, learning that Tijuana is the target, and seeing that this is an opportunity for him to wriggle out of voting for Rupert, does not tell Burton that R/S/C/L are voting for Tijuana, and in fact casts his vote for Tijuana as well. Anyway, I am voting for Rupert because all of the sites seem to think he's going. Actually I have formulated a theory how the sites can be right, and the preview of Lil crying can be explained. Here goes... In an earlier thread "Mrs. Rupert Flies to Panama" it was shown that all of the remaining survivors have someone coming down for the family visit reward. It was also stated that the winner would get to choose someone to share in the reward. So this is what I see happening. Rupert wins the reward challenge, and picks Lil to share the reward with him. She's happy. Then Lil turns around and wins the immunity challenge, after which her alliance decides to vote out Rupert (which upsets her because she has become attached to him - causing her to cry). "Burton" I just looked at the picture of Rupert and his brother which was taken the day after he came home from Panama ( Survivor Phoenix article ). Rupert looks way too skinny for someone who spent the last while at LL. He doesn't even look thinner right now in the show, but he melted off a few more pounds before that picture was taken. So, I'm guessing he stays around a while longer, and ends up as the bearded man we've heard about. Since the strong players are being voted off now after the merge, Burton has that against him, plus he's an Outcast - makes him a bigger target than Rupert.   Top

"Rupert" God...it's about four hours to show time, I spent my week getting info for the SOTS, and I'm STILL not confident about this pick. Granted, Snewser is probably right since there is no indication that he's yanking us this week, but he also doesn't seem so cocky. In fact, he seems downright unsure.... Game logic indicates that Rupert should go because of all the forces allied against him, and if the IC is another "eliminate the others," he won't get the Immunity Cutlass. But I'm with Fester on the thought that the AV knows this too, and so is expecting him to go. Thus, because of the promos, he won't. Plus there's the "sworn enemy" thing in next week's ep that sounds suspiciously like something Rupert would do. The picture looks thinner than he is now, but the mosquito scars are negligble. ARRGH! To heck with it: when in doubt, go with game logic. ExI does hope he's wrong...   Top

The second juror has often been a spot that was a surprise (Jeri in S2 with her tribe in the majority and in control, Brandon in S3 after switching sides and giving the dominant tribe his key vote is turned against the follwoing week and Deena from S6 seems to be in control of a strong alliance). I think we are left to think it's not Rupert because I think he wins immunity (people might be inclined to think Rupert is a target now... but during the show once immunity is his??). I also have a feeling that he gives up the immunity (the sacrifice)... and lives to regret it (the big regret). Hmmmm.... memories of "Marsellas" in BB3 maybe? I think so.   Top
