Maybe it's just me, but I don't actually have that much of a problem with Sly signing Joey to an endorsement deal, as long as he did it after the show finished filming. Had he done it before the show started, or wile it was filming, then yeah, that would have been hugely inappropriate. Maybe Sly figured that it was better to announce now, while a few people are still watching the show. Sure, it can create an impression of impropriety, but Joey still has to back it up in the ring.I don't really like the fact, though, that Sly has been obviously advocating for some fighters (like Ahmed) during the filming. As for interviewing the fighters: that's a good idea. Wish I'd thought of that. But they can't say anything about the show until it's over. Even Ishe, who is a good friend of mine and with whom I talk maybe two or three times a week, and who calls me after every show to ask me what I thought, can't comment on the show yet. BTW, the business about using guys who "haven't had the breaks" is just puffery to provide some sense of justification at the beginning of the series. Ishe has fallen out with his last promoter, but Manfredo and Kaddour, for example, aren't going through any particular managerial or promotional problems. Believe me, had they succeeded in signing some of the guys they went after, they would have been singing a different tune about the fighters involved.
