LAST EDITED ON 10-09-03 AT 08:11 PM (EST)At Morgan: The fools built their camp too close to shore and the higher waves of the (apparent) off-shore hurricane are beginning to threaten the shelter. They actually think they can build a barrier of sand and logs and keep the waves from crashing into their shelter -- because they are too lazy to move it. Andrew talks of Darrah and Tijuana trying to fill Lil's shoes and how they need A fish (yes, a single fish) bad. At Drake:
Christa wants to go to TC... Jon carries on about doing work while others are still sleeping. Burton (or Shawn?) picks on Rupert's plumbers crack. Everyone at Drake talks about how Shawn, Burton, and Michelle isolated themselves. Reward Challenge starts... at 8:10PM. That means something big is happening later.

But unless my eyes deceived me at the end of the show, Shawn voted for Burton...a strategically sound move. Looks to me like Michelle and Burton were the only dummies, and the rest used the vote to advance themselves.

I can't decide if I'm mad at Drake for throwing the challenge, Jon for being such an asp, or the producers for building up my expectations of the drowning and the TC.I don't know how much more of Jon I can take, but if Osten fakes the drowning again, my neighbors are going to hear me scream like Rupert!!! I loved that Rupert sewed. Kool dude. I hated when he was made fun of by the guys. Christa has come up in my estimation for seeing the worth of what Rupert did.
So we now have a clear alliance. (Trish, Sandra, Christa, Rupert and sigh, Jon). And ha ha to Burton for getting voted off after convincing everyone to throw the challenge. I believe they call that irony.

>And ha ha to Burton for >getting voted off after convincing >everyone to throw the challenge. > I believe they call >that irony. I believe that Jeffy may have called that whole affair the Big Regret. Considering how the drunken spectacle turned out to be, despite their claims to the contrary, something I could have missed, I would not be surprised if throwing the IC is what JP was referring to. Not only did it cost Burton his flame and it cost the Drake tribe the services of Rupert, it also cost Michelle (who appeared to be in on the subterfuge) an alliance partner, putting her in danger at the next TC. And unless Shawn has some more unseen alliances, I think even he may feel threatened now that he knows that Jon can deal with Christa/Sandra/Trish.
All in all, I think everyone at Drake (and I think that everyone might have been in on it although for different reasons) regrets throwing the IC, except for Jon, who was so pumped to be going to TC. Let's see if he's still pumped on the night his torch is snuffed.

I fell right there with you, Bob! Now I need a confessional and to go do a penance. Tribal Council was the biggest let down of the night, I guess that's if you don't count Osten's underwhelming drowning performance. Even that didn't hold up to the hype> Lame, lame ,lame.

Being a childhood fan of professional wrestling (yes, I know I must now go and do penance for that humiliating confession), I think the two fingers were a tribute to either Ric Flair or Jeff Jarrett, professional wrestlers who would stick two fingers out from each hand when they "strutted" around the ring. My guess would be Ric Flair, since Jon "imitiated" him around the campfire. (And I use the term imitated very loosely with that pasty white shmuck.)

wow...we are going to get to hate Jon for awhile if his so-called alliances hold together. JP couldnt get over the "rotation" idea of challenges. If this is his M*&* F@#% surprise, then the best thing about tonite was how the editing defin. turned the viewers "heart" to the underdogs, and this includes Rupert.

51. "Shawn voted out Burton?!?!" |
Oh my God, Shawn voted out Burton. Can we say backstabber? LOL. Those dudes were two peas in a pod. The only logic I can think of is that Shawn realized people were getting annoyed with him and Burt being all buddy-buddy and alienating the rest of the tribe. If his pal goes bye bye, Shawn will "rejoin the tribe" so to speak and won't be a target. It's actually pretty funny that Burton was the one voted off, since it was HIS idea for Drake to throw the immunity challenge. Oh the irony. Jeff questions Drake tribe would sit out Rupert and Shawn, their two strongest, in such a challenge of strengh. They answer that it's a rotation thing so that everyone gets a chance to play. Rotation my ass! They sooo threw that challenge. It's funny, yet a little sad, that Morgan believed they "truly won" that challenege. It's good their sorry asses finally won something though, and Rupert is the greatest prize they could ever receive. He will catch them fishies and show them what a means to be a Survivor. Only problem is now poor Rupert might be a target for Drake tribe. They aren't too happy he's over there helping them out and possibly telling them things he shouldn't be telling them. I sure hope Rupert doesn't have loose lips, because they sink ships! On a final note, was Osten really drowning or was he faking it? I read other threads suggesting he was faking, but I don't understand why he would do that. Was that "the near drowning" people have been talking about for weeks? and does it have anything do with "the big lie" that totally baffled Jeff Probst?

This is just weird. I was really hoping I was correct with my Christa vote. It was hard to speculate that Jon and Shawn had a stronger alliance than Shawn and Burton. Why would Jon be in an alliance with Sandra. Sheesh. That won't last.

LAST EDITED ON 10-10-03 AT 11:31 AM (EST)It was hard to speculate that Jon and Shawn had a stronger alliance than Shawn and Burton. I don't think Shawn and Burton would want to take each other to the end. Both would fear that the other would go on a late IC run. Plus they are not ideal F2 competitors for each other. Better for either of them to get in with a jerk like Jon, who'll never win immunity and never win the game.
