PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.

Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"American Idol: Anti-Bootee Game (W1 Entry)" |
Well, the real part of the season is about to begin, now that we are down to our final twelve contestants. They will begin to perform weekly, starting this Tuesday, March 11th. The rules of this game are pretty simple, hopefully most of you have watched Survivor/Mole/Amazing Race and have played our Anti-Bootee games, but if you have not played them and are new to it, I will explain it somewhat. This game should be easier to play than the Survivor games, but this is the first time we have done anything like this for American Idol, so here is the rules outline (Mostly Copy-Paste From LC's Survivor Game):The Rules: 1. Like other AB games, you can pick as many, or as few Idols you want each week (minimum of 1). How many you decide to name each week is a function of your daring and strategy. As always, please remember that you are picking the people that will NOT be eliminated by the public. 2. For each Idol you list that does NOT get booted, you gain one point. 3. If one of the Idols that you added to your Safe List is in the bottom three (this will change to the bottom 2 near the end of the competition if the competition is anything like last year's), you will lose three points for each Idol you have in the bottom three. During the first three weeks, you will lose eight points if you add the booted Idol to your safe list. 4. You can enter the game anytime you want up until week 3. After week 3 airs, the game is closed to new people. The sooner you enter the game, the more points you can build up (the reward), but the better the chance you will make a lousy pick (the risk). For the first 2 weeks ONLY, you will NOT BE KICKED OUT of the game if you pick the booted Idol (but you will rack up lots of negative points). 5. After week 4, if you pick the Idol that takes The Walk of Shame, you are finished, done, kaput. For those flame-snuffed players that are addicted, you are welcome to continue to make picks, but we may all laugh and point fingers at you. 6. For those that enter in week 2, or 3, you will start at zero points, so it is probably better to enter early rather than late, since there should be plenty of 'safe' Idols to pick from, and lots of points to gain, early on. 7. IF YOU DON'T MAKE A NEW WEEKLY PICK, IT WILL STAY THE SAME AS THE PRIOR WEEK, EXCEPT FOR CHALLENGE WINNERS. If you are afraid you will miss the deadline, put in an early set of picks… you can always edit them later. 8. I will try to make all my picks by Tuesday afternoon (say 5PM EST) each week. 9. Each week I will add a Bonus Question that is worth Bonus points in the competition, make sure to answer it....the amount of points you will earn for getting it correctly will be different from week to week, and there may be a penalty for getting the question wrong, depending on the rules I will assign for each question. 10. Deadline is showtime on Tuesday night, I will accept entries up to ten minutes late if you have a good reason. 11. I will try to post results a.s.a.p., so be patient.....this game is strictly for bragging rights, but if you ever visit southwestern VA, I'll take you out to eat, lol. 12. If there are any rules I forgot to add in there, I do have the right to change the rules or add more in if needed to make the game run more smoothly.....and most importantly of all, have fun! For week one, here are your Idols to pick from: Clay Aiken Kimberly Caldwell Trenyce Carmen Rasmusen Joshua Gracin Corey Clark Vanessa Olivarez Rickey Smith Ruben Studdard Kimberley Locke Julia DeMato Charles Grigsby Make sure that there is a difference between Kim's....Kim Caldwell's name is spelled Kimberly, Kim Locke's name is spelled Kimberley. Hopefully you will put the C. or L. after their name to make sure I know who you have picked. Remember that the object of this game is to not pick the bootee, and to not pick someone who will be in the bottom three! Week One Bonus Question - (There is no penalty for missing this question.) Who will be the first person that Randy stands up for? You will receive four bonus points if you guess correctly, and no penalty for missing. If you choose the second person that Randy stands up for, you get three bonus points. If you choose the third, two points. If you choose the fourth person, you get one point. (We all know that Randy will stand up for someone....if he does not stand up for four people, then only the first one or two that he stands up for will be rewarded with points.) Have fun, votes are due Tuesday at 8!!!!! Survior 5 Anti-Bootee Champion

LAST EDITED ON 03-07-03 AT 04:47 PM (EST)Autumn, are you aware that if your pick is in the Bottom 3 you'll lose points as well? It is Motown Week next week and that gave several people trouble last season, so I'm playing it safe.
