Are we looking for a rock singer or a choirboy? I prefer rockers that aren’t politically correct. Last time I checked it was a competition not a summer camp fireside sing-a-long! I’m sure you’ve seen some “making of a rock album DVD”. Metallica’s “Monster…” DVD as an example should prove that an attitude isn’t a deterrent to making it!
->“I will lose so much respect for TLee and Jason if they chose this back-stabbing heartless bitter hateful woman to front them.”
I wish she could use that bitterness in her song-writing abilities which seems to be her main problem. This is a Burnett production and he likes his villains. Her attitude towards the other singers should count for less than 5% of the evaluation THE BAND makes. Much more important is the relationship the singers display towards the house band and here we don’t see much except that Ryan got bad comments last week with his micro-management. From what I’ve seen the house band also gets along with her well.
Another major concern his her voice and it’s range. All I have to say is: Stevie Nicks. She also had a very limited, raucous voice and it didn’t prevent her from having a nice career now did it? Stevie had more elegance but SN is a dirtier rock band than F-Mac.
Before you say I’m a Dilana-fan, I’d point out that I haven’t decided between her, Lukas (who is slipping), Ryan (who has gotten back up) and Magni. The latter proved again that he is not only a true professional but also the best musician amongst the contestants. That could be needed because I haven’t been impressed with Gilby’s guitar play. The house band lead guitarist has impressed me more! Jason is the only above average musician in SN. TLee is more a People’s magazine star than a tremendous drummer! Since it’s not my job to decide, I enjoy all of their performances and Storm’s as well. Luckily, that covers almost all who are left!
-> Cheasybread writes about Dilana: “I am still shocked, shocked, that no one from Supernova said a thing. It was all Dave. Could it be that they didn't care? Or did they just think that Dave covered it? Hmmmm.....”
Maybe it’s because Dave is Burnett’s host and a Jiffy-wannabee! He figures controversy is good for ratings. The band should heve their minds pretty much made up by now.
On to another subject: Toby was OK since he didn’t re-arrange “Plush”. Toby actually never re-arranges a song; he bastardizes it. He is out of his league here. Among the men, Magni has a voice of better quality, Ryan has a more powerful voice and Lukas…Lukas has a voice, a strange voice, could be a memorable one if he gets a hit.
